  • haha. shot 4, mute 3

  • Amazing notes.

  • Finish this. xD Awesome.

  • crazy stuff.

  • how do i sign up for the blue devils?

  • @dubyaBeEzy auditions. for A Corp, you can either send a tape of you playing segments of the audition packet to Scott Johnson or go to one of the live auditions. their website has more info

  • Why's is it that BD gets amazingly clean tenor line so early in the season, and then they're just perfect by finals?

  • @saidincontent not saying that the tenors arent amazingly clean but i think they sounds THIS clean cause the mic is so close to the far right tenor so were hearing that one tenor a lot more than the others

  • @saidincontent to make up for the crappy snares

  • i remember last years closer was so beast

  • They love those rolls on the spocks don't they. I love them too.

  • dont u guys play dynasty percusion instruments?

  • @scrumdidilyumpsish switched to pearl last year.

  • lol you can hear the space chords in the background

  • @SOCK49000000

    Nah, that's shotgun

  • @VMFA115Starloric oh yea lol i only heard the begining then just payed attention to the tenors

  • roll at 2:20 was sick

  • i dont think it sounds dirty.

  • everything thing sounds dirty because of were there were at:/

  • @chreisyAFNF5 I agree. Being that close to the tenors probably jacked up the sound from the snares. It sounds like there is more dirt then there probably is. Blue Devils can grey some stuff up but not that much...oh, and the reason they ever get grey is because it's really REALLY hard notes.

  • neet...i think...

  • where can i get the music for this?

  • How do those 2 highest-pitched tenor heads not break every show!

  • @drummer4life2014 Why would they break they dont really break as much my school breaks more other heads on the tenors more than the spock drums which are tunned really high like in this video

  • Got those chop outs, I see.

  • @avenged7xguitar Lol... No...

  • @KonguAwesome In the stick holder thing on the side of the drum. Ralph Hardimon Chop Outs.

  • @avenged7xguitar Nope. Pro-Mark. Haha, Rubber Tip Sco Jo's. BD doesn't use Vic Firth anymore. MS6 Chop Out's USED to be Sco Jo's but then Scott and BD overall switched so they just named them MS6's CO's.

  • @KonguAwesome Oh wow, ahah. Learn something new every day :3

  • @avenged7xguitar So true, In my opinion P-M Sco Jo's are better than VF Chop out's in quality. But they're harder to get :-/

  • THE GUY ON THE VERY END HAS PRO MARK THEY DON'T USE VIC FIRTH! i KNEW PRO-MARK WAS BETTER

  • so the reflection in the drum is you? how come the other hand is down while you are recording. you jerking it? cause i am :)

  • Is it just me or do those rims on the tenors seem really short

  • awesome stick heights

  • round 1...fight

    round 2...fight

finish this! haha gotta lov BD!

  • tuning is horrible, dynasty-pearl-yamaha-premier, it doesn't matter. BD's quad tuning has always been bad

  • well Scott Johnson I have been fortunate enough to meet..Tuning is a very big priority to them..I'm pretty sure the tuning sounds different because the microphone on the camera is close to the tenors.

  • @dmickey619 That is cool you met Scott he seems real nice. But tuning is all opinion, and I have heard them live and it sounds no better....I will say I have never met someone who has said they liked the tuning.

Dynasty was better but I still didnt like it

  • @MikeySpooner1 well with the tuning at a higher pitch, mistakes are easier to be heard, which means BD has very good artichulations...but again..It all depends on what your opinion is.

  • @MikeySpooner1 I like BD's tuning.

  • @MikeySpooner1 Phantom Regiment is the only way to go on quad tuning

  • @rhssnare dont go off and show everyone here how ignorant you are

  • @LAKings0101 dude its just my opinion, its not like I said anybody else's tuning sucks.....

  • "finish this" 0:21-0:23

  • bluecoats are better.

  • @jjaudes well I would say that there show was better this year at DCI. But blue devls drumline is better than bluecoats(but its just my opinion)

  • there is no rim on those drums. lol

  • pearl tenors can't handle the way scott johnson wants them tuned. they should've stuck with dynasty, much more resonant at those pitches. I would love to hear those heads on a set of dynasty tenors.

  • @stubbyt34 dynastys, even with SJs tuning. are incredibly hard to get perfectly in tune. Pearls are better at staying tune. however the drums get to be unlevel over time..

  • @christiansmithalone what I'm saying though is that pearl tenors have a specific range at which they are most resonant. For example, SCV's tuning. Very resonant. The way Scott Johnson tunes tenors sounded much better on Dynasty's drums. and more in tune.

  • those heads sound so much better than their remo equivalents

  • does everyone have drum keys in their bags, or just that guy?

  • @ryantksdrums i have one in mine

  • the tenors use those 2 spocks as effect of the drumline and i like it very much

  • Blue Devils: I love you :)

  • the contagent flip at :22 was delicious

  • its pretty funny. every year in MACBDA, every band's drumline has copied at least one visual from DCI the previous year. i'd probably do the one at 1:30

  • lol, thumbs up reflection at the end is classy

  • @YarrThePirateDrummer ha, suprised anyone stuck around to the finish ..... thanks pirate

  • how did they get those pearl rims like their old dynasty rims?????????????? they are so low i wish my pearls did that :((((((

  • @qdrummer92 they crank the hell out of the heads

  • @qdrummer92 i think it might be their heads

    but idk

  • i cant get over the snare buzz rolls. so fucking tight.

    tenors are the shit too

  • I hate how at the end, they act like that was nothing.

    Screw you, Blue Devils.

    ...........I love you.

  • Those heads just are not very good, they dont translate on the fiels at all durring full battery moments let alone ensemble. They be better for indoor. to dampened for corps.

  • I hope this doesnt tick too many people off but i think those tenor drums sound like crap. I think they were better off with dynasty and im not a fan of either pearl or dyansty. Normally pearl tenors sound better but it may be the tuning i dunno.

  • @cortra51 i love pearl but one thing i dont like is that they shift alot

you can see how some og their drums arent as straight as you think

thats one thing dynasty does better the durability of the quads

    they are really sturdy

  • Yeh. No rims is definitely where its at! For real ;-p

  • There is like no rims on these Tenors.lol

  • @BlueishDevil they sound pretty....

  • Comment removed

  • fivepacdad...

i love you. for getting all these amazing tenor vids of this quadline.

    More to come soon?

  • and look how damn shaky those drums are on the Pearl stands...man I&E isn't going to be the same anymore either

  • Damn, this early into getting new pearls, and look the tenors are already unlevel....tsk, tsk. Dynasty for me!!!

  • Scott Nelsons hands are majestic. Like a unicorn.

  • @BillXHETASXCook all there hands are great ha

  • i wonder why they are warming up in the spot that vanguard was warming up in last year. dont they usually warm up in the same places every year?

  • Hahahahaha. "Round one...Fight... ...Round two...Fight... ...Finish This."
