@nubbs It seemed to me that The Stranger was representative of Paul the Apostle since he was suggested to have a Hellenic air about him, or it may have been an anthropization of the process of syncretism and revision instigated by the early church fathers, but I may be reading too much into it.

Can someone tell me what context this is in? Because taken out of context this seems hideously biased and stuck on events and mindsets that died hundreds of years ago.

@Swabby88 Perhaps with modern christianity, but remember that he speaks of religion in general. Think of the Middle East as he speaks about this and it makes total sense. Think also of early Christianity, or if you haven't already, watch Jesus Camp - that's a group today that would do so.

@Swabby88 this is weird stuff. unfortunately, i believe the references to the 'children' have something to do with the catholic priests and the child abuse that has recently (last decade of present) been exposed.
