To mrwrightontyme1,I agree that all black music was not disco.I too did not care for disco,but loved the music of EWF,Parliment,and Average White Band,Ohio Players,kool and the Gang,and such.But there were some black group's that were disco,and because there were white group's playing that style of music does'nt mean they were trying to sound black.That was the direction that music was heading in at that time.You can't make blanket statement's like that,because of a band like AWB.

This is not disco. Unfortunately, I remember some of that stuff and it was not music. It was audio garbage and everybody ridiculed it mercilessly. This group produced positive, fun music and had intelligible lyrics which were encouraging. This has nothing in common with disco noise.

i grew up in this era loved every minute of it what killed me was their labeling up black music as disco. disco was white bands and artists trying to sound black(funk) they never could get it right so it became know as disco that's the history of disco i'm black and i hated disco back in the day too but i loved funk, R&B, soul, jazz and gospel
