why would you then choose to be Greek Orthodox? They are so simiar to Catholics and they fact that your background is not of Greek decent, makes me wonder this.

Actually they are similar but have some very very destinct differences not the least being the rejection of the idea of the Papacy. There are some very very profound differences in our belief structures that I honestly don't have the space to get into on here to be honest. Not to say I believe the RCC are evil or anything like that but rather just don't share all the same beleifs.

Btw I did want to say two things. I arrived at this choice after long hours of study both history and scipture since my mom ins now RCC so I know many of the differences between the two faiths. I honestly do thank you for the questions and if you ever have more please let me know. :)

Oh I was not accusing you of doing so and can see how it could see like i was. Sorry about that. I get a lot of emails though with people saying to join the RCC or go to hell or that there is no difference so sometimes that frustration can come across in my text at time. For the most part though we get along fairly well except for the extremest we have on both sides..lol.

I think it is interesting, people who say you must be born again, confess Christ, etc., Jesus said not all who call him Lord will enter, and infact as Matt 25 shows us, what it means for Jesus to be Lord of one's life, is actually quite differnt.

lol. No I don't like to troll unless it with friends and in fun. I liked the video and I think people go trough great lengths to try and defend that which in all honesty can't be....even if it was done in the name of God it still was a Evil act.

starting point of faith and salvation are differnt. For the EO the end of a Chrisan life is Salvation not the start. We aren't saved till we are there in heaven with our Lord. Its a path in life that we follow the Lord. Its a fact that keeps us humble and aware that following the Lord and in the end its his Mercy upon us that salvation is even avilable to us. How can "repent or you too shall perish" not be the focal point of Christ's message? He spoke of hell much more than he ever spoke of heaven. Just believing in Christ alone is not enough. The bible says that even the demons and devils believe in Him and tremble in fear. You must turn from your sin... it's the clearest message in the bible.

The thing is Hell was NOT the focal point of the message of Christ. The entire message was one of love. A unconditinoal love. You seem to think that the amount is more important then what is acctually said. So ok lets say that...then LOVE not hell should be the center of any message you put out there. The problem with the turn or burn for the most part its a scare tatic not one out of love. There are excepting and am speaking in a general sence.

mirdadsweis, One could argue that even more then Heaven and Hell, Christ spoke of the life a believer should live. I believe this is true of Paul, John, Peter, etc. Although Heaven and Hell, are definatly present and can not be ignored.

I agree with your premise about the worry of "zealots" thinking they are bringing the word of God, instead they are turning people away.
