  • choir harmonizes perfectly! GREAT! <3

  • This is my uncle's sister from Malta. I'm half Maltese! I LOVE MY UNCLE'S SISTER MARITA.. i met her for the first time 2 years ago at Christmas <3

  • this is my favorite song!

  • Top notch vocals.

Hit the high note to PERFECTION.

    All critics can piss off.

    Merry Christmas.

  • sjukt bra

  • What a beautiful voice the soloist has. And the rest of the choir harmonizes perfectly. The message comes across whether or not they have strong accents.

  • How wonderful it would have been to have heard this live!!

  • an angelic voice well done

  • hjbastida, you arrogant ignorant pseudo intellectual! You write insulting English words to someone whose English is not as good as your own? You have forgotten that English is the language of Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Byron and Keats. You have forgotten that Handel composed the Messiah in English. It is for Church Music that English speakers are renowned, from Byrd to Britten. Also, I would like you to tell Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Jimmy Page that they lack artistic creativity.

  • @MandyJMaddison I guess you told THEM!

  • @MandyJMaddison Bach, Machaut, Poulenc, Attaignant, Janequin, Calude Jeune, Johannes Ciconia, Matteo da Perugia, Landini Pachelbel, Buxtehude, Corelli, Vivaldi, Telemann, Liszt, Messiaen, Leonin, Perotin, Josquin, Berio? All of them speak the same language ... I hope that you know it, it is called Music.

  • @mod07 My comment here must seem rather rude, unless you have read the preceeding comment that has now been hidden as spam.

  • very nice

  • Not a big fan of the soloist at all...English needs work.

  • Umm. If I was an english, it would be a great honour to hear a foreigner singing a song on my language. :) (sry for mylang-mistakes)

  • Korszet, this beautiful carol was written in French as "Allons Cretiens" (Come, Christians!) but it is known throughout the English speaking world as "O Holy Night". Because Malta is part of the British Commonwealth, many Maltese people speak English fluently, but with a strong accent. The carol has an interesting story which I have written about on the clip of Kiri Te Kanawa singing at St Paul's Cathedral (I think!).

  • leby yah thats true

  • @merryohg what are you talking about!? The soloist is singing! I speak English and don't hear a flaw. And I'm a singer and musician:-) Holy cripes...

  • Very beautiful. Pity about the mic placement.

  • i love the choir part of it

  • what's up with those horns...

  • i think the sound of audio mic that was recording this was bit low quality... and was maxed out..

  • Our select choir did this for our CD recording.

    :)

  • great. this is a wonderful performance. God bless you all in the choir. thanks for posting.

  • I love this song..our choir is bout to sing this song for our concert this year...even tho i sing bass and they got some really high notes for me like that g above the staff...ahh thats a killer

  • ES MARAVILLOSO

  • This is one of the reasons why I love music with all of me, every fibre of my being! I LOVED THIS:D Went straight to my heart<3

  • un pò sa suino scotennato ma bello !

  • this song is so magical...they all perform it so well, and it comes together so nicely

  • she has such beautiful voice though, imagine actually being able to hit those notes, wow

  • It's only a top B flat lol. I know what you mean though, it's amazing to here someone reach it.

  • you've all pointed out some minor errors--all valid. but this is still best version i've heard on youtube -- she has a very beautiful voice.even with the errors she's magnificent

  • You should listen to charlotte church sing it, far better than this :)

  • hahahaha

  • she's an awesome singer but very hard on there ear with the high notes

  • very beautiful..

  • Oh Holly Day! ..Merry Merry Xmas and Joy for all <3

  • yea......

  • Never mind her vibrato, what's with all the glissandi? Too operatic, it's not an aria, and she can't keep time very well, either.

  • good song but get a better cam

  • i actually like the girl its like opera sorta =]

  • she came in too soon

  • Wow she is not in control of her vibrato at ALL. and she's messing up all the vowels. since when is it acceptable to make an "ea" vowl a "ye" vowel? I'll tell you: never.

Although the choral piece was beautiful, I was expecting a more simpler A. Adams version of it. That's what we're singing in my choir and it's awesome.

    Well done, however.

  • Beautiful. Flawless. I love this song, we're singing it in choir.

  • Great potential. I strongly suggest that she works on targetting those notes, and work on the color of those vowels.

  • She just doesn't sound in control of her voice at all... the scooping is bad (though it was fashionable at some point in the 70s, I suppose...) and you can't hear the words.

  • amazing, love the hymn, love the group.. cheers!!!!!

  • Why is she scooping every single note

  • STUNNING BRAVA MARITA!!!!

  • Oh My Goooooooooooooooooooooood!!! It is just soooooooooooo beautiful!!! It is the best choral version of this mighty carol in You tube!!!! The choir is just amazing!!! Where can I make an audicion!!!!

  • this is one of my favorite christmas carols ever and im not impressed by this soprano. I hope she gets her pitches right next time-if there is a next time for her.

  • Amadeus Chamber Choir is a gem in Malta. Big thanks go to Mro Brian Cefai and to his dedicated orchestra and singers. Excellent rendition of O Holy Night.

  • Her voice is quite good actually. Her diction on the other hand is quite bad. She is what is called more of a coloratura soprano.

  • the diction is very common here in Malta for people who dont speak English so often. If you hear it being spoken it pretty funny hehehe.. i HATE it when people sing or talk with the Maltese/English diction

  • im sorry her voice really doesnt do it for me... i love what the choir is doing but her pronounciation is horrible

  • WOW! That solo is REALLLY bad!

  • i mean no offense.. but her voice is pitiful :s

  • Very Pretty voice and hopefully she continues to get better

  • I like opera very much, but Marita Bezzina (the soprano in this clip) is a terrible singer. She could not sing one clean tone. Very pitchy indeed! But vell performed by the orchestra, though.

  • i wish the quality of the sound would be better, but the music is amazing =)
