  • great vid, what the fuck is with the song

  • cool

  • What song is this? It's fuckin awesome!!!

  • im sorry is it me or people are actually talking down on the military branches.......if you dont like our soldiers get out of our fucking country!!!!!

  • all these youtube people exercising their freedom of speech to the men and women of this country who help them have it.... their classless, uneducated, and pathetic because i know for a fact they'd wet their pants trying to say it too one of their faces

  • I have been a soldier, airman, and a coastie and can tell you every branch is different but they are all equally important. If you want to be cocky be a marine, if you want to be cool be a sailor, if you want to be spoiled join the airforce, if you want to be abused join the army, and if you want to be sea sick join the coast guard. It is as simple as that.

  • Sandy Duncan?

  • @nic190

The USCG budget for FY2012 is $10.3 billion. That money is to be split between the 11 CG missions, maintaining and upgrading the fleet (new national security cutters, upgrading the HH-65 Dolphins, etc) and various other expenditures.

40,000 personnel cover a 6 million square mile area with a limited budget (compare to the Navy's $161.4 billion) and still manage to account for 52% of all drug seizures in the US while carrying out 10 other missions. I'd say that's pretty damn good.

  • @duncan7599

    Keep telling yourself that.

  • All military have a job to do.

Seals train and wait for their chance to perform.

USCG trains and then performs every day 24/7.

    Semper Paratus

  • i seen the new Coast Guard boat that Alaska got, it's unsinkable. i don't know why all boats aren't made that way.

    P.S

why do you all get to fuck shit up legally and i get tazered...

    no fair, :(

  • I can't believe there is so much argument over who is the best. We all serve a purpose and the diversity we have in training is what makes our forces the best. Stop arguing and support our troops. Semper Paratus.

  • you guys better get on the ball, you spend billions of dollars and you cant detect drug submarines. or fishing boats towing subs.

  • This is where all the Navy Seal dropouts go.

  • @duncan7599 Uh no, Navy SEAL dropouts just go back into the Navy, back to whatever original job they had. Please, don't talk shit, especially if you aren't even in any military branch. Thanks.

  • @TrackStar828 I will talk shit about who ever I want bitch. Especially military assholes like you. So shut your worthless ass up you bitch to the government. You fucking pawn.

  • @duncan7599 Sounds good you cock sucking inbred piece of shit. Go jerk off to some fantasy of yours while I get paid 80,000 a year doing a job I love.

  • we risk are lives every day to just for punk bitches like you to be able to go out in public and not have to worry about walking past a random car and BOOM you rdumb ass is dead

  • @TrackStar828 Put him in his place dude. That dude is probably a Navy Seal fan boy it isn't even funny.

  • @duncan7599 you obviously aren't very educated in military matters. If you drop out as a SEAL during BUD's or even indoc, considering whether or not you're currently an enlisted or officer... Officers go back to another job such as EOD or Diver or midshipmen.... enlists go back to the midship'. Shut the fuck up before commenting on military videos. You don't know shit, you're sitting on your fucking chair criticizing people who fight for your fucking protection and freedom.

  • @JogaBonitofootball They don't fight for me asshole. Grow some balls.

  • Im 15 in 10th grade, im thinking about joing the Coast Guard after school, good idea?

  • @TheWingait Do it, you will love it! I went to college straight out of high school. I was smart but had no clue what I wanted to do and ended up doing poorly in college. Joined the coast guard reserves as a member of a Port Security Unit and now I'm back in college doing great and benefiting from military tuition assistance. I think most people would benefit from military service out of high school whether it be active or reserves.

  • @NCsqrlkiller Wow all right, I still got 3 yrs to decide, ill most likely do it since im faced with the same situation yu were in. thanks =D

  • I thought all CG BDU's were blue didn't now they wore cam. I know they patrol for smugglers, drug runners, outside of policing and maritime environmental issues and SAR didn't now they had a combat role.

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie The USCG has always been a branch of the US ArmedForces. They manned landing craft in WW2, patrol boats in Viet nam, Iraq, and anywhere lese they are sent.

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie Deployable Specialized Forces wear the cammo BDU's. This includes Port Security Units, Marine Safety and Security Teams, Law Enforcement Detachments, Tactical Law Enforcement Teams and Marine Safety Response Teams. All of which can and do deploy to combat piracy or maritime terrorism across the globe. This is what's called the "Green Side" of the US Coast Guard. Not many people know about us....

  • Being a marine I respect these guys, because just like the marines they are owned by the Navy, and are small, but have a lot of pride for what they do, and it is very tough.

  • @B34STYxWELLMAN

They only cone under the DOD or the USN during wartime.

  • @B34STYxWELLMAN We work with Marines quite often and conduct most of our specialized training at USMC facilities. It's a good relationship. Thanks for the support Marine!

  • No, we're not Navy Seals, nor Marines, nor Air Force PJ's, nor Green Berets. We have a different assignment in the military arena. Its just takes one look on someone's face who is rescued in 10-12ft seas on a cold dark night to understand our mission. We are the last hope for distressed mariners, and they know it. "When it gets too rough for most, its just right for us."

  • "Even the brave cry here" ha ha I love that written on the wall

  • this is a badass video

  • this stuff beats the fuck out of being on a buoy-tender...fml

  • @nirvanadropkicks

What are you talking about, man? I loved being on a buoy tender. It doesn't feel like you're doing a whole lot in the way of saving and it doesn't give you that super-adrenaline rush, but it's crazy important and I love the physicality of the job along with being able to look behind you after a days work and see all the atons nice and cleaned up. Maybe I'm just simple, though.

  • pussies

  • 1:28 the M-14t LOVE THAT GUN SO MUCH!

  • Blowing shit up has never looked so fun!

  • Go Coast Guard! army, navy, aif force, marines, COAST GUARD!

  • it's not easy as it looks like,

  • cant wait to get there

  • sir, I was wondering, I am 6'7 and 300 pounds and am very athletic I was an all state football player in highschool and ive been out of school for almost 2 years and I was wondering if I would be eligable for the coast guard.

  • Once a Pirate, always a Pirate as this is one fraternity you check in to but never check out of. Give them Hell

  • Right now Ive been watching coast guard videos and im thinking when im eldible that im going to join for pilot experince. Then latter in my life transfer over to other branches like the airforce or navy. But overall I think this is what im going to dedicate myself two. And plus as is im pretty much in love with water. So wish me luck on my dream guys.

  • @Blackstreakable good luck my brother God bless and i might c u there.

  • @Blackstreakable Best of luck, I'm looking into joining too.

  • POSSER NAVY SEALS!!!!

  • @SWATknife Since you can't spell I'm going to assume that you are not a SEAL yourself since they have to be intelligent and professional in order to do what they do. Whether or not this is as intense as what SEALs do, you make yourself look like a schmuck when you make comments like this.

  • @mitc7930 thatz b/c im not a navy seal yet

and who cares about spelling that has nothin to do over whos a navy seal or not

  • Out of this whole thing only 3:24 1 asian guy

  • Everything is based on the individual man not if you are a Seal or Marine, or Soldier ... it is up to the lone man ..... and how much he knows Kenpo or martial arts ... Mercenaries are tough too .

  • ...the Coast Guard actually has SEALs. Not very man, but we do. There's not that many of us to begin with...Don't talk down on us, because you'll be the one calling out for us one day.

  • @MrFNDependable this may be a stupid question but i keep hearing differents answers.. does USCG basic traing include hand combat and weapons training?

  • @mh2blade This is not MrFNDependable, but I can answer your questions, YES on the weapons and you will have physical training and you will continue to have Law Enforcement and variuos weapons training throughout your career.

  • @mh2blade Just got out of basic in october. they do pugil stick fighting and pistol training thats it. you will learn hand combat and other weapons training after basic if you want to become a boarding team member, maritime enforcement specialist, or if youre stationed at a port security unit.

  • @mh2blade it used to include weapons training, but the range in cape may has been deemed unsafe so only those who get stationed at law enforcement units get to go to the range and shoot. they don't have hand to hand combat, but we did do something called pugil sticks where we got to beat each other with pugil sticks.

  • @MrFNDependable so the coast guard has SEALs? do they get the same training as the ones in the navy? cause ive been working my butt off just to become one haha

  • @310extreme Yes, they go through BUDS and other SEAL schools. Unfortunately, our new commandant has ended the Coast Guard SEAL program. Maybe it will come back again though...

  • @MrFNDependable

lol cool name.....people who talk down on any service have no clue, because they never served!! Just sitting back watching HollyWood BS. If any Special Op/Mission training was easy, well everyone would be doin it!!!! All branches have specific roles people need to make sure they show up fit and prepared to succeed...Thank you for your service!..former US Naval sailor here.

  • @MrFNDependable So true bro... The US Coast Guard actually serves the people of the United States.... Not a people in a far away land that will end up hating us... I honestly feel ashamed that I joined the Army....

  • @shartasticful me to, very little I did in Iraq was 'good' all the while the cg is helping americans in america.

  • @theatwo Yeah. It's stupid how we put ourselves out there for the sake of people that aren't our own...

  • cool

  • Salutations from Spain to all USCGuards who put their butts at stake to save others in the worst of the adversities: the furious sea. Best wishes.

  • im only 13 but ive been looking forward to joining the USCG Special Forces soooo bad.

  • @Thrillcekr i agree my dad used to do this for the coast guard and ur right they dont teach respect no more they really need 2

  • Bout time someone shows the national defense side of the USCG. Coast Guard been involved in every war. In WWII the D-day landing at Normandy saw many Guardsman manning the flat bottom Higgins boats delivering soldiers on shore. Navy personnel did not have any who know how to pilot small vessels. Many recruited from Great Lakes.

  • People dont realize that the Coast Gaurd played a big role in Vietnam. They were drafted and most partook in the Brown Water Navy. They ran patrol gunboats all over the place and saw some heavy shit.

  • @SammyLBusby Nam is kinda different because of the draft though

  • Coasties are now accepted into SEAL training!

  • Whoever said that USCG combat training isnt as tough as SEAL training or other spcial forces training may or may not be right. But veryday Coasties with no special forces training are there every day and night and going out by air and by sea in storms that could make you sick just by looking at videos of them to rescue people and keep the shores safe. Thats its own kind of extreme courage and dedication

  • @GEOHHADDAD and whats really funny is that Coast Guard trains with Navy Seals if that happens to be the job you choose!

  • @GEOHHADDAD You seem to know about the USCG alot can I ask you which part of the Coast Guard are like the Special Forces. Is it the guys in this video and if so how do I join them do I have to already have some experience in the Coast Guard?

  • @jesballboy its most likely the ledets an yes you need expierence but its pretty much luck too cuz u gotta get into the right schools and such

  • @jesballboy Any unit that is part of DOG (Deployable Operations Group). PSU's, LEDET's, MSST's, etc. are all part of this group and do the training seen in this video. Some units specialize in different things, but the DOG units attend the special training schools.

  • @GEOHHADDAD You forgot they do their best to keep drugs out, inform the nation of storms devolping so others can seek shelter. USCG does alot also, by keeping illegal immagrents coming in via sea.

They are underated but a person with a mind knows that without them we'd be in a shit hole when it comes to National Security.

  • @GEOHHADDAD fucken a'rite

  • awesome video. great song.

  • Im joining the CG when Im done with my Masters degree :D

  • JMTC now. NCVP 004 fuck with it...

  • to all these young marines hateing on the coast guard need to do some home work. due to the disassembly of the us navy back in the early 1800's the only branch older than the united states coast guard is the army. yea thats right the marines arent as old as us. another thing being in a family of coasties and being one my self we are the cockiest bunck of ass holes in the military and proud of it. also we produce the top snipers in the nation. look up the HITRON program if you dont believe

  • @warrior0113 wrong navy, october 1775 and marine corps is november 10, 1775 coast guard was founded in 1790

  • @DCfreak87 yes and no Remember it was the Continental Marines,Navy Army etc etc back in 1775 and remember the USA after 1783 disbanded the Navy, the Army and the Marines.

So for 15 YEARS the USA had no Military other then the Cutter Service. say it again THERE WAS NO MILITARY TILL 1798 other then the Cutter Service, which later changed it's name to the United States Coast Guard. there for Making them the Oldest service in the U.S

  • @Dogmeat1950 yes but technically the army, marines, navy are older because they were called the continental army they were the ones to fight before uscg and then they were renamed by the us army, usmc and usn in 1798. but it still means they were around longer

  • @DCfreak87 dude. the Cutter service was around before the Continental Army hell even before the war.

  • @DCfreak87 The Coast Guard is actually older, the navy was formed from the Coast Guard and additionaly, the Coast Guard was the first service with United States added to it.

  • The old Coast Guard motto applies to their modern professionalism and job performance: "You have to go out ... you don't have to come back."

  • serious question man, im not to familiar with the coast guard is this a training center you go to after boot camp?? do you have to have special qualifications?

  • @tbutters321 You get interviewed to go to a TACLET or an MSRT or if you are chosen to go to the gulf. This is not a AIT like the Army but a Unit thing and in order to get into the unit you must be approved and pass the advanced physical fitness assessment.

Run run run and be fearless of water and of heights.

  • I wanna be in the special training center How do i do IT!!!!

  • @tbutters321 lol

  • getting ready to go into the coast guard

  • I served in the USCG in Vietnam on a cutter ( not too bad duty ) However the river-rats who manned the 82 footers along with the swift boats saw PLENTY! ( they trained with the Marines @ Pendleton in the worst horrific survival training anybody ever went thru! ) FYI---the Coast Guard basic back in the 60s was commonly known to be 2nd to the Marines only : )

  • Does anyone know if USCG uses something similar like OORAH? Just curious--I consider of joining not sure if ill be able to pass basic training but i will do my 110% its just what i hear from other people like they scum you out of your pay you do more service and not see a paycheck because i have a friend who was a marine and recently ended his 4yr service and they hardly paid him wtf. Cops get paid more than marines.

  • HOLY CRAP you think you got enough footage of the PSUs?

  • This would seem to be a foolish question, but does anyone know how an officer would apply to be a candidate at this school? I'm currently on track to do the OCS plan, and am just wondering. I'd like to push myself, and do something along the lines of what is displayed here. I thought about SWCC, but figured hey USCG is fine for me. Any pointers?

  • @Hugh33h Seriously man, go for SWCC, I'd do it if my eyesight was wasn't so bad.

  • i cant wait till i turn 17 to join the USCG

  • @1009sandhurst707 I turn 17 in August, I'm being recruited there as a Biologist.

  • @MilitaryBrothers thats awesome have a good time man

  • I don't know why people like to talk shit about the coast guard what does it matter? The coast guard is saving lives and doing something for the country maybe not going to war but it's still being apart of something good. But it's ok i understand the marines get the big head often. haha not saying all marines are like that i agree with Thrlllcekr. and hero 1167.

  • love the video...gay song

  • Every branch protects us, CG is just the smallest. Army ranger is the toughest by far - 61 days of training with 1 hour of sleep every night. After that is probably SEAL, then marines.

CG training is like to improve you, army ranger/SEAL is to break you.

  • I AGREE WITH THRILLCEKR,, DONT HATE ON THE COAST GUARD,WHEN YOUR STRANDED IN THE OCEAN,HOW DO YOU HAVE TO RELY ON? THE COAST GUARD! THEY STILL PROTECT EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY!!

  • If you're going to "bag" on any branch you're bagging on their history. Here's a scratch of the USCG history.... the original Navy seals were composed of half of Coast Guard personnel. medal of honor was awarded to several coast guardsmen( its a requirement that you have to go through some serious shit to earn that), in vietnam the USCG would be doing river patrols (that shit would get "hairy" as fuck, watch Apocalypse Now for a small taste of river patrols).

  • @hero1167

when no one would rescue a unit of stranded marines during combat, who did the ballsy task?...the USCG. which heli crew went down during the 3 congruent storms known as "the perfect storm" to rescue a stranded fishing vessel....the USCG. Point is, no branch is "superior" to another. they all take nuts of steel, all have their causalities, all see their fair share of combat, and all deserve the same damm respect no matter what....so GET SOME COAST GUARD!!!

  • Haa ! Glad to see the humor in uniform I remember...that woman with that right hand and her thumb touching her forefinger (slugs) The "Jolly Roger' flying alongside of the CG Ensign - Perhaps some things don't change that much.

  • Better weapons, better training ! Way to go Guard !

  • CAG

    trumps all

the rest of the sf units have nothing on them

  • Why does the coast guard need guns I think sharks can take on little bullets

  • @Bolonio187 I think the Coast guard does more than just "Shoot Sharks"

  • @Bolonio187 Just shut up bout USCG man obviously u have nottA DANG clue what other things THE coast guard goes thru man.

  • fuck you rednecks!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • can someone tell me what the point is of wearing green camis on blue water?

  • @jcbgrunt0311 show of military force

  • @jcbgrunt0311 makes em feel like a real army man

  • can anyone tell me what the special training mission is? is it like seals for the navy?

  • To add to what some of you guys have said the USCG has started to send some of its officers and enlisted through the Navy's SEAL/UDT school where, upon graduation, they'll serve with a SEAL Team for a certain amount of time to gain as much knowledge as they can to bring back to their Coast Guard commands. These guys will definitely be in the thick of it and will honor the traditions of the Coast Guard in a whole new way.

  • @sbreed33 where do you get ;your info you are wrong they send some of their men to train with seals by that i mean they are learning from seals they are not in any way put through buds it takes most navy men years to get the chance to get a spot in buds. trust me I would know as a member of udt team 12

  • I could be wrong but both the USN and USCG would say otherwise. Since YouTube doesn't like urls in the posts perform a Google search on "USCG SEAL training." There are many results from official sources, to include ones from both the USCG and USN websites, for you to see that go into much more detail.

  • As a retired Coastie, one that helped Marines...

all I can say is Semper Fi, Semper Pi

  • oops...error Douglas Albert Munro earned his MOH at Guadalcanal...my error

  • My Dad's cousin Dewey joined the USCG "to stay home" during WW!!...as luck would have it...Dad descended the ropes from a ship off Iwo...to find the landing craft was driven by Dewey! So much for staying home!...it was at Iwo Jima that the only USCG MOH was bestowed...Douglas Albert Munro...you want BRASS ONES...look him up and see what his Citation reads!

  • Puddle Pirates got BRASS ONES! My husband, a decorated USMC Vietnam Vet stood in awe of the man who was the superintendent of his HS...at a Memorial Day service at his HS in 2006, he learned that this quiet man, as a "Coastie" ran landing craft at Normandy on D-Day...ferrying in Soldiers...carrying back the dead...under the hail of German fire... That took BRASS ONES!

  • Semper paratus!

FYI, one my assistant CC's from boot trained Marine DI's in Parris Island. Nothing like a fire drill at 2300 with that man behind the megaphone... good times!

  • awesome

  • What song?

  • 99 red balloons by goldfinger

  • cg, navy, marines or whatever. u should have respect and support for all!

  • @Thrillcekr As a Coastie I would like to say that I appreciate your comments and those Marines like you who I have served with in the Middle East in PATSWA.

  • Went there with my ROTC unit really cool!!!!

  • who says the coast guard isn't badass? lol

  • the Marines....

  • well, the marines are cool to. i mean, they make pretty good scape goats out there in iraq...

  • lol nice comeback

  • Please. You're just a 19 year old kid. You don't even know what badass is yet. I was in the Marines back when it was a hell of a lot tougher than anything you ever saw or will see. You need to learn something that they apparently don't teach young Marines these days. Respect. What some of these Coast Guard cats go through day in and day out is every bit as hard, and in some cases harder, than anything you'll probably ever see son.

  • @Thrillcekr i like the way you say things man thats true RESPECT

  • I think people need to learn to think before they speak. Especially some wet behind the ears fuck that's never even done anything yet. I'm proud of being a Marine and what I've done but that doesn't mean I have a license to go out bad mouthing others when I can't say first hand what they've been through. If you asked that punk kid that was running his mouth to jump into massive waves of freezing water in the Bering to save someone he'd probably look at you like you were fuckin' nuts.

  • @Thrillcekr KUDOS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH MAN. YOU SEEM LIKE YOU GOT A GOOD HEAD ON YOUR SHOULDERS. PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

  • @Thrillcekr hey thanks for sticking up for the uscg im hoping to join some day

  • @Thrillcekr Well said.

  • @Thrillcekr Your a fucking idiot :)

  • Its good to see fellow service members or vets like you showing these young punks a thing or two about respect! Much respect to you sir!! I was in the CG for 6 years as a Flight Mech. and flew on many search and rescue missions! Semper Paratus!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Thrillcekr A 19 year old kid who is A probably going off to war, or B already in war.

  • @Thrillcekr I'm just a 19 year old kid also and I agree. Some people in the military I've observed are embarrasing to even me. You'd think they would want to proudly represent themselves and their country. They are the example of what I plan not to be. Thank you for your service. God Bless America.

  • @Thrillcekr AMEN.

  • @Thrillcekr SEALs go through WAY more harder shit than fucking Marines.

  • @ismellleaksmoke SEALS is also spec ops. So ya, spec ops will do more than basic Marines, but when it comes to Recon...

  • @thatgreggguy SEAL/s are part of SOF's (Special Operating Forces) along with Force Recong Marines, Pjs, DEVGRU, DELTA, SWCCs, CIA Special Ops (SAD) etc etc RANGERs on the other hand aren't. They're Advanced Infantry for the U.S. Army. Just wanted to get it out there.

  • @Thrillcekr Thank you very much sir. We Coasties don't get much credit, and the larger branches love to hassle us. But at the end of the day we all drink from the same keg.

  • @trish9181 You get plenty from me lady. A lot of big mouthed idiots out there have no idea what you people do and I knew plenty of guys when I was in the Marines who wouldn't jump into a 20 foot tall freezing wave no matter how much you paid them. It's dangerous shit.

  • @Thrillcekr with all do respect to the cost guard , u know your self the army and the marine corp is what brings the fight ,and we are trained to think we are the best thats why we fight feet from the enemy , the coast guard is just a different type of service and they dont have the cocky attitude because the training is not to teach you how to kill , i do have respect for them, i hate swiming in the ocean lol so they have balls for doing that

  • @Thrillcekr hey man, thank. Im in the Coast Guard and im goig to "AST-A SCHOOL" to become a rescue swimmer. Punks like that kid jst dont have respect. I dont worry about it much because at the end of the day i am serving my country and the most he will prob do is work at a Target or Burger King. So thanks again and thanks for you prior service

  • @Thrillcekr joining the USMC, bet i will never forget that the only USCG member to receive the Medal of Honor died saving Marines.

  • @Thrillcekr well said sr and thanks for your service.

  • @Thrillcekr

Why do I have this gut feeling that you were, and will forever be a "Gunny?"

I love how most people see this video, if I just show them it without the intro and think its SEALs or RECON, not USCG.

I wonder how many realize we've lost Coasties we've lost in these current wars, let alone all the shipmates who never come home after flying out into the Bering.

  • @MurPaDiLos You're right that a handful of coasties have died protecting our harbors overseas. However I highly disagree that anyone would ever mistake this for SEALS or RECON training, prime example at 3:17 with a fat chick in war paint.

  • @MurPaDiLos

    Thank You.

    In Coast Guard Basic..,

2 of are D.I.'s Where Retired Marine (Vietnam Era)

    According to Them

In Vietnam, Compared To Other Agencies.

  • @Thrillcekr

    Thank You Marine.

Thank You for Your Service To THIS Country & for Your STRAIGHT, FORWARD Comment To This Young Person!

    As a Retired "Puddle Jumper".,

I Would Have Said Something but In This Case

It's BETTER That a "Respectful" MARINE

    Say Something!

    Semper Fi!

    Or as We Say.,

    "Semper Paratus!"

  • @Thrillcekr For The Record.., Our Lead D.I. (in the U.S.C.G.) & 1 of His Assists Were Interservice Change Marines (Vietnam Era) HARD., But GOOD Drill Instructors! An Older Recruit (in Our Co.) was Also Ex- Marine Due To an Injury! He Couldn't Re-enlist Marine Corps., So He Went Coast Guard! He Was Our Company's Recruit Leader. We Went On To Do Better Than Most Company's (in the Whole Regiment) Competitively.., Even Those Classes Older Than Us! Our Guide On Had So Many Penants!!!
  • SWeet video, Boat Warriors Rock!

  • If anyone here has any questions about getting into the USCG whether you want to be enlisted or officer, I'd be happy to answer your questions.

  • ok i will

  • @wanderingbudoka do Deployble operation guys go here after the selection course

  • to train for the USCG Special Training Mission, do u have to complete the USCG Bootcamp??

  • @Fatblunt15 Yeah, you have to graduate basic training in Cape May, NJ. If you have any questions about enlisting you can message me.
