  • Sir, I'm soo very sorry for you lose!! I know that hurt. You'll see him soon...no worries.

  • Amazing video!!! Great bear!

  • So precious. That bear is better behaved than my dog! haha. The end was so cute. I want a bear!

  • Bart was 9'6" 1800 lbs.. not the largest in terms of height but still very tall and HUGE nonetheless..

  • doug:hes my soul mate...

    lynn:are you fucking serious

  • The difference with so many other trainers we see is, that,it is almost logical that doug is stil alive

if you look good he has so mutch passion pacience respect and love for the animal

and that,s what i,m missing by so many others,he does everything right in my opnion

  • i think bart was a smart loving beatiful animal .

i also think he was tought of as one of the family .

i think he was a great bear.

  • Does anyone know if Bart was in Clan of the Cave Bear?

  • @CosmicMutty It says in the description that he was :)

  • I'm sure Bart also did Clan of the Cavebear, I loved Bart, I thought he was the best big fat bastard bear on this planet. You ROCK BART !

  • bart was like 11feet and over 1200pnds he wass biiiiig

  • If only each one of us can experience such magical relationship with a wild animal, the entire human race could co-exist peacefully with animals, and there would be no endangered species.

  • He killed his trainer's brother though.

  • @bigdawgdl i do not believe that Bart ever killed anyone. There was another Bear Actor by the name of Rocky that killed his owner. He was working and his owner neglected to feed him by a certain time and the bear got nasty and killed the owner... i could be wrong but i've never seen any proof that Bart killed anyone... would be curious to see some...

  • @bigdawgdl is not the same bear dude...

  • for any one of those CRAZY tiger fanatics who in their fantasy world think a tiger could do ANYTHING to a wild bear of this size-YOU'RE NUTS. OMG a bear this size would completely ANIHILATE any tiger.

  • Amazing and beautiful thing. That being said that man is lucky to be alive.

  • @grapplingmma the man raised Bart from an infant. Why is it so hard to conceive of the idea that MAYBE predators aren't bloodthirsty maniacs which would kill their own parents? Brown bears have been successfully tamed many times. Many of them have been as peacable as a domestic animal.

  • Sorry... I meant Doug and Lynne! : 0 )

  • This is one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen.... Anyone giving a negative response is only jealous & bitter that THEY can't make such a huge difference to the lives of such lovely creatures. Where bears (& other creatures) are seen as "a menace" or "a threat", here you can see them for what they really are... innocent and beautiful... and sometimes I am ashamed to be human because I know it's US who are the monsters! Daaron, you make us all proud & give us hope in humanity x

  • Yep RIP BART. I know what it's like to loose such a friend, 1 word PAIN! Try B17 next time, it works on this nasty Cancer.

  • R.I.P. Bart the Bear.

  • THREE CHEERS FOR BART!!

  • that cute couple that's there, beautiful human beings. congrats

  • I love Bart! God Bless Doug and Lynne! You know Heaven awaits these folks. Unlike those who love to kill these beautiful creatures. Humans are so stupid.

  • man bears scare the who know what out of me, even the tame ones!

  • Bart deserve more views than this!! come on pepps!!

  • This is most awesomest video. So right! I love wildlife

  • God that is sad!!!!!!!

  • Bart was THE Bear! but we luckily we have Tank, Little Bart and Honey Bum. they are all as beautiful as Bart was and are as talented. Tank was hilarious in Dr. Doolittle 2 as Archie. in giving his goodbye Bart knew he would see Doug and his family again some day.

  • so this bear died?

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx Yes, he was 23. He had cancer.

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx no he just said he blew his last breath... but hes still alive

  • @ShaJACKwa lol i asked the question without watching the whole video, but after i watched it all, i understood he died :P, shame on you for lying to me

  • Amazing animal!!

  • Im not trying to be a downer, but i hope for their sakes they have a long happy life and dont get messed up by one of their bears....

...and its funny that i got teary about a bear that came close to making me sh*t myself when i watched 'The edge' too young....

  • I cried.

  • A man & his bear...Or is it really more of a bear & his man ?

  • This clip clearly shows two people having the love and admiration of a Bear, and a big boy at that!......Wonderful, wonderful work these guys are doing.......was such a pleasure to watch, thank you.

PS....I remember the movie Bear, wow, what a roar that dude had!!!!

  • fucking cancer.

I remember watching 'the Edge' and 'the Bear' and 'White Fang' as a kid. Iconic movie Grizzly RIP.

  • People from east-europe and pakisatn should learn on how to train a bear from this guy.

  • I saw the amazing movie The Bear. What an unforgettable experience!!!

  • He should be lucky that "bump" wasn't his dumb country ass in Barts belly. Somebody needs to tell Micheal Martin Murphy to put in some aps at Walmart since he has a lot of spare time. Gees...

  • F**k that pick-a-nik stealing MOFO. Call Sarah Palin....she like bears that silly b***h. LOL

  • i was so sad when i learned that bart the bear died. his son little bart is acting now.

  • Awesome Video

  • DOUGLAS SEUS HES NOT DEAD!!!!!

PLEASE BE SURE OF YOURE COMMENT ..DONT SAY BAD NEWS LIKE THAT ..

  • wikipedia ....BART THE BEAR

  • Bart should have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. He was an amazing actor.

  • 7:39 Awww :D, bear glomp, how powerfully cute.

  • I wish I had a bear as a pet or a family!

  • Is the size about the same if compare Bart and litle bart as fullgown??

  • We should all love animals so much..

  • Bart and Lynn are extraordinary people. Lovely good people. Wish there were 4 Billion in the world more like them.

  • i don't understand what they ment at the end

  • This was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

    So touching.

I wanna have such a loving relationship with a bear.

  • how amazing would it be to have a bear that big to be your pet?????!!!!!

  • 2:31 I started bawling.. how beautiful. Everyone should have this kind of respect for every animal - not just wild or potentially deadly animals, but even pets such as dogs and cats. They're not here for our amusement - they're living beings. But, as animals, they have different needs than us so cannot be treated like children! I think Mr and Mrs. Seus knew this, and so were able to fulfill Bart in all aspects of his life - which is why he was so happy, sane, and gentle with them. RIP Bart <3

  • Anyone who can't see how much Bart truely loved Doug...is blind. Jezzzz... Barts head was bigger than Dougs entire upper body. He could have killed Doug with one swipe of his paw or one good bite to the head. Instead Bart would kiss or nuzzle him. That's not training.....that's love and affection.

  • These hippies??????? No matter what you say accompanied with all this happy music etc.....grizz are still wild animal. One day we'll find Doug was killed by one of his bears......sad but true!

  • damn i wanna hug a real bear

  • i would love to meet this man also!!!!!!

    surch a good heart man.....just what i need ......

  • @MyValeriane If I remember right Doug passed away and his son is running things or nephew it has been awhile

  • Aww, kind of heartbreaking, what a beautiful guy Bart.

  • So touching... I love bart

  • I didn't know that was Bart in the movie The Bear.

  • I almost shed a tear for bart and then i was going to switch videos...because i dont like hearing about cancer...but then those cubs perked up the video right when i was about to switch. =)

  • that bear is huge

  • Doug is truly an amazing man...with his training Bart, in the movie the edge the water scene, when Bart slaps the water with his paw, the bears do that in real life(saw it on animal planet "killer grizzlies" female chases a male from her cubs to waters edge, brief fight, then she slaps the water with her paw, what does that mean? its just so amazing how Bart has been trained in those movies to act as though he is in his natural habitat, and to do those things as the bears do in the wild..love it

  • Bart was great in The Bear and all of his movies.. R.I.P Bart

  • Bart was amazing in The Edge. Im glad I watched this. Bart was just like a big playful dog lol.

  • oh this made me cry and laugh....that loss must have been felt deeply, but im glad that your continuing your work....the statement you made of" without the wildlife its just scenery " hit me .....good luck in all you do

  • I cryed! lol

  • ..that being said,( cont>from my previous comment) would make Bart a Kodiak because of his immense size and would also make him... the 'King Of Bears!!.. I have yet seen a bear on the internet in the wild(and Ive searched) that was as ginormous as Bart! and why is it on shows like animal planet/Nat'l Geo/timothy treadwell movie, they show footage of Kodiak brown bears fishing for salmon but continuously call them grizzlies??...Bart, a legend in his own right, will truly be missed!!

  • @cwshere1 Kodiak bears are a sub species of the grizzly bear they are native to Kodiak Island near Alaska they are technically grizzlies but you are correct they have been classified as a somewhat different species they are much larger than main land grizzlies because of the abundance of food where they live. I just watched a whole show on the discovery channel about this topic..

  • @316greg - do you remember the name of the episode that you watched?? i would love to see it...

  • @cwshere1 I don't recall right now but I will get back to you I think I recorded the show. It was on either Discovery or NatGeo I will let you know when I find out for sure.

  • Bart Reigned supreme among Kodiaks, a Monarch.. was Bart a grizzly? grizzlies and Kodiaks are not one in the same , they are two different species, i read that the male Kodiaks(ursus middendorfi (coastal bears) are cousins to the grizzlies(ursus arctos horribillis-inland bears) and grow much larger than the grizzly, have somewhat different profiles, can obtain a max weight of 1500+lbs where as the male grizzly max weight is up/between 8-900 lbs- are more ferocious than the kodiak brown bear

  • Wasn't Bart's mother the bear from the old 70s horror movie: Grizzly?

  • sweet big and amazing

  • i have watched bart movie..the bear..it's awesome movie...really amazing performance..

  • Bart was so noble and so beautiful - just like his brothers and sisters. The grizzly MUST be protected and in order to do that, their habitat MUST be protected. Get rid of these greedy stingy rich people who keep buying up our wilderness to put up their stupid trophy homes that they only spend about 10 minutes in each year! Rich people are blocking too much habitat for all wildlife just so they can show off.

  • Inspiring

  • bart is awesome

  • the most amazing animal...on the planet

  • bart.....i miss u

  • The Great Outdoors he did great and very funny acting in that like when he was On top of the door when john candy was under it great scene

  • that is very nice but that wouild scare the hell out of me i would not have the trust that he had good for him

  • BART I MISS U

  • Bart is one of the very largest kodiaks you will ever see...even though he is obese here, his general frame size is still that of a very large male kodiak. I have only seen a few male polar bears larger than this.

  • so sad.

  • Wow,I Remember this..sweet..I wonder ,how the not so cubs are,,sweet..its been awhile I saw this Video..Its amazing..

  • Few people know it, but the real-life John Capen "Grizzly" Adams (1807-1860) spent his later years as a showman with P.T. Barnum. He must have lacked Doug's talent, because one of his bears "General Fremont" struck him a blow to the head that eventually proved fatal.

God, what a shameless hambone. (I mean Bart).

  • God bless Doug and Lynn for mastering their grief and stepping back up to the plate with Little Bart and and HoneyBun.

I must say that is a singular way for a gentleman of increasing years to stay in lumberjack shape. Getting the living crap beaten out of you by a furry 450lb monster on a daily basis is one hell of a way to stay fit.

However, I must exercise my showbiz curiosity, who and how many are Doug Suess's competitors in the Hollywood Bear trade? Methinks I see a book here.

  • iv just thought of a nickname for him "Baddass Bart"

  • Did Bart do his own voice work? I always wondered how they worked it.

  • @pinz2022 ya on command he was taught to roar. they might enhance it for the movies but the voice is barts

  • very informative, loved the vid.

  • Rest in Peace Bart the Bear

  • did the bart died ?

  • and all this time i thought the trainer was eaten by the bear

  • poor bart ill missssss him so much

  • @legodeath2600 ifeel for the man ihadwritten apoemmany years ago where will you gobrotherbear?,,,,????

  • @thoostorm4 thebearpoem wasbymethoostorm

  • Wow, Bart was a GIANT.

  • Congratulations for been ,a select people for raising this beautiful bear,May God Bless you for everyting you have done in life for this animal .(From Brasil)

  • so sad

  • great people make great animals.

  • My view is, bart was a zoo bear that would have had a lousy life in a zoo, and these people took him in and gave him a far better life then he could have ever had in a zoo, what would his option have been ?? a miserable zoo bear ?? death ? these people gave him the best life a captive bear could ever have.

  • repost

  • We loved seeing Bart in the movies he did...it was such a chance of a lifetime, thank you.

  • Beautiful animals. Not designed for amusement, contrary to all-American misconception!

And that rubbish on the wall - it certainly doesn't manifest the interviewee's respectability or agreeable nature: just get rid of all that metal.

  • Giant human Bart

  • Oh, I loved that bear! May Bart rest in peace and may your work continue to save a place on this earth for these wonderful creatures! You have truly been blessed by God!

  • Amazing people, amazing bears!

  • amezing animal! respeckt!

  • Bart was really FANTASTIC in his movies!

  • Bart the first was HUUGE

  • Touching video.. I just watched the edge.. bart was a total badass in that movie, a very accomplished actor! I love to see when man forms a relationship with any animal, a real bond formed in a real world situation... let's all hope that natures beauty will remain for millenia to come..

  • Awesome vid!

  • i dont think bart was a pet for them he is more family as i see it

  • best pet ever?

  • Bart R.I.P., you were a very good actor, i've seen the movie "The Bear" and you were great in it. All good to Doug & Lynne Seus, because they were so lovely to Bart and the other Bears. I'm sorry about Barts death. All good for you.

  • rip bart

  • he loves bears respect for doug

  • bart was one hugeass bear

  • lol at the end

  • just doug only get close bond with bart but im not sure about his wife lynn seem not close cos she nowhere near bart ???

  • they were both very close to bart. however, doug handled and cared for bart more then lynn.

  • yeah lynn also got near bart tough not as often as doug but she did.

  • after bart death i dont think doug and lynn would wanna try get other cub and raise it again cos it cause too much pain for them.... but which part of of bart of body cancer that's kill him?

  • yeah thats true but they got already new cubs which are adults already(little bart and honey bump). sorry i dont really understand your question do you mean if their is anywhere to see where lynn is with bart? or what do you mean with which part of bart of body cancer that's kill him?

  • i mean in which part of bart organ the cancer that kill bart ?

  • i dont know!

  • i'm not sure. but they started finding bumps in his neck an all over his body, so it was tumours of a sort spreading

  • @001whitelighter How did they raise and care for him? They raised and made the greatest bear actor and animal. It touches all of us.

How common is cancer in wild animals?

How common is cancer in pet or trained animals?

Something to think and grieve about.

"If it doesn't have the wildlife in it, it's just scenery"....

  • @001whitelighter they did get two new orphaed grizzlies from alaska Little Bart and honeybump are there names.

  • @001whitelighter she was busy cooking

  • Cancer was cured in the 1930's by a Dr. Rife.

    Read Vassilatos' book Lost Science.

Grizzly should live to 50 yrs.

Best movies out of States involve animals.

Need evolves into greed as far as vets go.

  • Thats one amazing bear that could think outside the box!

  • the edge

  • love that movie

  • WOW!! It's amazing to me that Human Beings are able to train/work/live with wild animals. I had this same thought while I was watching humans swimming with Killer Whales at Sea World.

  • watch the doco "killers in eden " its true and about how killer whales used to hunt with ppl for bigger whales and they even saved people when they fell out of the boat sometimes

  • how would u like to have that as guard dog. you would never need gun with him guarding your front door

  • barts big

  • I would if I was a millionaire..

  • reminds me of my dog who passed away in my arms on the floor. :'(

  • Altruism

  • Lol Bart acts like a dog, man I wish I can take care a bear like his.

  • brilliant and touching bid

  • poor bart the bear, been enslaved his how life and then died a slave in a cage. what a shame. let us murder these people who enslave these anials

  • So let him die in the wilderness on his own when he was a little cub? Really, who the fuck started banging cages and let this phalluses critter crawl out?

  • are you are moron? do you know how many bear cubs die in the wild every single day? do you understand the meaning of the word "nature"? do you know that 95% if cheetah cubs die before the age of 3 weeks? why don't you save them all and enlave them and exploit them and have them do commercials. Do you know how the absolute majority of wild and domestic animals are treated in the human world? Do you actually believe that they treated like suburban pets? Wake up moron.

  • Do you pretend that Bart led a terrible life? Stop pulling Wiki stats out of your ass. He was fed, loved and had a place to stay everyday without any danger to him. Ninnie-brained apes like you come armed with laughable figures to stave your stupid arguments. I see you get told to fuck off in most threads you reply in. Get lost cunt.

  • You are too selfish to admit the truth. but when you are in hell, you cannot escape the truth. so learn t deal with it sooner than later

  • Oh dear, clueless, stupid and now one of those self righteous weirdo bible hugging cunts. You and your death cult surely must know something about love, compassion and understanding between all living things? Or are you one of those fucking weirdos that rattles of wiki facts when it suits you? You're told to piss off in most of the threads you post your weird drivel in. Being a dickhead is no way to go through life son.

  • Oh yea because murder makes you much better than them :P. Watch some of George Carlin's stuff on youtube. He mentions how the so sophisticated, CIVILIZED humans are the only creatures capable of premeditated murder... ohh we're just so dam civilized aren't we? xD

  • Wow... I didn't knew that that's a real bear in the bear movie... Wow.... I love it...

  • Your a beautiful person,I can see the love come from with in you for them bears god bless you this world needs more kind hearted people like you

  • how he connects with those bears is incredible, hell if I tried wrestling a bear it'd snap me in half

  • OR, instead of me labouring my way through it and presenting it on a plate to you, you could expand your own knowledge and research ? Here is a start for you, skull shape and external appearance.....now go and learn

  • They are so damn cool! I hope the bears never turn on them because they really love them. Incredible.

  • That roar is badass, and really intimidating.

  • I just want to comment on how healthy the bears look. They have the most beautiful coats, they look so clean. It's not hard to tell they are taken care of :)

  • Bears are cool. Smart too according to new research, they could actually be as smart as chimps.

  • im actualy crying at my house...what an awsome bear

  • thats made me cry also.

  • Bears are not pets and they are better in the nature where they belong not doing movies. Don't be fouled by how pretty this picture would look. they are wild animals and if we really respected them we would leave them where they belong, in nature.

  • your right they do belong in nature. but i doubt any bear has ever had as great of a life as bart has. if you are capable of providing for a bear like doug was able to do, i dont see anything wrong with it.

  • yeah but the bear would've died if he was in the wild, he was abandoned as a cub.i think he was better off being with a loving owner.

  • you forget the natural instinct that takes over in a bear. bart would have lived in the wild when he got older....but the life doug gave
