It is sad to see so much ignorance here. All religions can be interpreted in positive ways by positive people or negatively by negative ppl. Islam has the potential to uplift people or oppress people. But so does Christianity, Judaism even Buddhism. What is important is to see through the deception of the most radical elements such as the often corrupt ulama, who often uphold the most oppressive elements of religion, allowing them to control their followers. The harsh reality is this: Islam is a political movement that is designed to eradicate opposite philosophy and subject women non-believers to its awful punishments. about soudan and darfour

Coming from neighboring country fell it is necessary to correct the speaker. the represion in the southern soudan and the darfour region with the help of the soudanese government is purely political and has nothing to do with religion specially in the darfour region because the people from darfour also happen to be muslims. it is sad to hear but it happen muslim killing muslim. i know other religion enconter the same problem but as a muslim i expect more from my bro/sis

The people ruling Saudi Arabia are not even following islam!!! every muslim with enough knowledge on islam knows that there is no muslim rulers in the muslim countries. All those rulers are corrupted and this guy of course he doesnt or pretends to know nothing. Ok I need to say it properly. In the case of Iran, I dont have the elements to say US backed the Islamic revolution, but I included Iran because I wanted to point out the fact that as in the case of other muslim countries, Iran is not organised as an islamic state and its leader wasnt either elected following the principles of sharia, nor sharia is in placed as it should be in a caliphate.We need to establish the caliphate. Iran could have defended the palestinians with the army but they didnt.

@nadialejandra : this the very fault of Islam- it's 7th century constitution which get hijacked easily by anyone claiming to be pure practitioner of Islam with rare exception.

Today USA has the best constitution- they just need to restore "Glass-Steagall" in the banking system which has been sabotaged by the Wall street mouth pieces of the inter-alpha banks; then credit system would work as President Roosevelt's recovery during great depression and we could let go of gambling debt of the banks.

@nadialejandra : In the West, people are free to do whatever. Even corruption is a personal choice. We have lobbyists with their own agenda. (I'm Cdn BTW). So we are bound to get highs and lows in our economy while inventing leading edge technology for you!
