End-of-Life Care was designed to kill our grand parents.
President Obama is indoctrinating children by going to their school and telling them to study hard and take responsibly for there grades.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!
Of course, Fox News has made up outrageous headlines. Hell, they cover and spin outrageous stories for ratings, then they use fallacy, ad hominem and deflective arguments in order to sound convincing.
What Beck said was "I think he's a racist" for jumping to conclusions in that police thing. I think both Beck and Obama shouldn't have said what they said.
The end of life panels would prioritize younger people. As I understand it, they don't have them anymore, but there's cuts in medicare.
What Obama wanted to do at first was encourage them to write an essay on how to help the president -how to help him. So it was a valid point to question his motive.
Mr. Beck is not the only person on Fox News that delivered that idea.
"The end of life panels"
- That is not idea they were verbalizing. They were saying that the "End-of-Life" counseling were panels of people who decided whether-or-not to pull the plug on grandma.
"-how to help him."
- He is President of the United States of America, and the Department of Education answers to HIM! If he wants an essay...HE GETS IT!!! It goes with the job. Not indoctrination and he is not the first to do it.
That too should not be in the hands of doctors. They did remove death panels so it's all good. And btw a socialistic system of health care would inevitably favor younger people. In fact ,one of Obama's advisers calculated how much more a young.person is worth.
If Bush had done this "how to help me [re-elected]" essay you would be screaming fascism. I think you're being disingenuous on this point, at best. Politicizing young people like that is wrong.
There was a round table discussion I remember watching. 2 hours of it.
"Death Panels"
The point you are missing is that WE ALREADY HAVE END-OF-LIFE CARE. We just have to pay through the nose to get it. They didn't get rid of it, they just kept it expensive.
"one of Obama's advisers"
One of the President's advisers is not the President.
"If Bush had done this"
He did...and very few people said anything. He was the President.
"socialistic system of health care would inevitably favor younger people"
No it wouldn't. It depends on the implementation. But because we are wasting time with the "Party of NO," we can not get to that part of the conversation. We have to talk about "DEATH PANELS" (trademark lie), Obama the Facist (WTF), Obama's birth Certificate (Did we ask to see one from any of the Presidents in the last 40 years?), Glenn-Fucking-Beck, and tea-bagging.
Funny, I have been listening and watch conservative radio and television for a while now. I heard that from the conservative right when Obama addressed the school kids. But during the election cycle with the "Ban Gay Marriage Propositions" on the ballot, I remember conservative ads in-favor of the ban saying, "They will teach homosexuality in schools." And that is not even what the bill was about.
I was referring to the overall conversation that we have been seeing in the media, not what you and I are talking about specifically. But, yes...Glenn Beck cares about homosexually and Gay Marriage. He is against the idea.
"He'll learn."
Yes, I believe the President has the capacity to learn. It is nice to be able to say that.
Here is a question that has come to my mind, Xleax.
Of all the subjects we have touched on, has our conversation actually been reduced to one Glenn Beck? Of all the arguments that are out there, Glenn Beck is IT? Really??
This was exactly the point when I was talking about "we can't get to that part of the conversation." There are real and serious arguments for a conservative perspective argument that are very hard to wrestle with, but you and I are talking about a talk-show host.
No, it is not. Churches can deny services to anyone they want.
"Obama is doing (or not doing) anyway."
I agree, sadly.
"I don't care about the second comment"
It is obvious you don't care. I think, if you cared, we would be talking about philosophy, positions, and legislation...not about a talk-show host. That concerns me more because you are not alone. So, we talk about Glenn Beck.
I'd speculate that due to the high birth rate of muslims - and the low birth rate of everyone else - polygamy might happen in a decade or two in Europe, legally.
Oh, I see. I am understanding more about you as we converse.
There is a point, in your perspective, that I need some clarity on, though.
Who said anything, with any power or authority, about America continuing to be predominately white?
I only ask because when Europeans began jumping off the boats in wave, that the indigenous indians, here in America, were making a similar statement to what you just did. I don't think they had an answer.
The point is that the majority, in this case muslims, will prevail, in Europe, and polygamy, will be the norm I guess.
However, a vocal minority, can sometimes be even more effective and force something on a majority.
And there's where the muslims in America argument is, that, I think, Beck was making.
Example:
Fast forward 10 years, the gay marriage all accepted in USA, then come along a very vocal minority of muslims screaming "Hey, where are our rights to marry the way we want?"
Ok, I hear your argument and I see that you care very much about the subject of "Muslims Winning." and what Mr. Beck has to say.
Taking all that into account here...
Questions:
Who said anything, with any power or authority, about America continuing to be predominately white?
If I do not challenge anything you have said so far (and I do), as long as everyone with in the marriage is consenting adults, why does it matter who is married to who?
I believe you think it is irrelevant, but I think it is important in understanding how your are forming your argument and how your mind works. So, if you please, can you answer the questions for me... It would make the conversation easier for me and anyone that looks in on this.
"legalizing polygamy"
Who people date, marry and have sex with, as long as we are talking about consenting adults, I believe, the government should have no authority over.
THAT is really dangerous ground you are standing on. Here i the reason why, the moment you say the government can pass legislation on "who can marry who," what happens when the government then says, "Hello Xleax. We notice your partner is much too your for you. We have taken the liberty of drawing up your divorce papers. This policeman with make sure you sign it or the policeman will take you to jail."
This is the reason why the Q and A is so important. If I am not willing to question what I believe, lay it on the table, I could inadvertently say something that would have repercussions that I don't want.
If we are free, then we should be free to enter into any relationship. The more we say "this relationship is ok, under the law, but not that one," the larger a government there must be to enforce it. And Government doesn't like to "give up" authority.
Sex is the icing, not the focus. If my partners and want to have a life together, why does the government need to be involved?
This is not a hypothetical situation. There are people living this way in America now. But we can't get to that issue because we can't figure out whether or not homosexual people can get married.
If your position is the same as Mr. Beck's, then I think I understand...You are against it. And that is valid. But, once you bring that opinion into the idea of "governance," that opinion allows for government to disavow the "pursuit of happiness" of many.
Mr. Beck's believes government is supposed to serve the people. How can government SERVE the people, when government is in your bedroom tell you, "You can't marry this other person, even though you want to."
What the fuck dude? You may be one of the most annoying debaters I've known, constantly intentionally misstating my position.
I'm not against gay marriage. It should be up to each state to decide.
The gov. banning polygamy is not walking into your bedroom you pinhead. What it is is that the gov is not recognizing it as legal union(s). Nobody cares what you do in your bedroom.
If you really want a conversation ask me for my messenger or something.
I gave you his position on gay marriage, IN VIDEO...he is against it because of the "church" angle. I pointed you to the video. You said your position on the issue is the same as his. So...
"each state to decide"
This is NOT Mr. Beck's position, that I have seen. If it is your position, each State Government to decide...ok. It still seems too reckless a position for the idea of Governance.
I think this is a false statement. If we didn't care what people did in there bedrooms, we wouldn't talk about gay marriage. The only reason we are having a national conversation about it is because it is for gay people.
And since its a government issue, and the "polygamy" part happens in the home/bedroom.The Government is in the bedroom, or at least in the house. And that is still too much government attention.
They mention Foxnews because this asshole is paid by George Soros. Now no bias here. I thought this guy had something to say but all he has is the BS he peddles on that "AIR- failed radio station -AMERICA" The only reason he is on the air is cause Soros bank rolls the station. Thats when he is not buying the election for Obama
No what sucks is being a 53 year old the dresses up in star wars customs and send nasty comments to people you don't even know. Do you wear the custom while you do this. Come on I bet you do. So whats the lie FACT Air America failed several times FACT Air America FACT Air America receives bailout millions from Soros FACT you need to take off the helmet and get some air.
Why do you mention Foxnews? This issue is about the NY Times, Moveon, and Petraeus. This is ONE CASE.
When Foxnews does something questionable, that is another SEPARATE CASE.
Here's a simple analogy for those who still don't understand. You're unhealthy and you want get better. Do you focus on how your progress is, or do you focus on someone else and say "at least I'm better than him"?

Oct 22 - BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Violence in Iraq has dropped by 70 percent since the end of June, when U.S. forces completed their build-up of 30,000 extra troops to stabilize the war-torn country, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.
It's politics stupid. You can babble on forever and it's still politics. The right says the left is wrong and the left says the right is wrong.
grow up for christ sake they're both getting fat on your tax dollars. They're both right and they're both wrong. your yelling and screaming won't change a thing.
Yeah, screw making an ethical decision between two choices, or at least offering a viable third option. Let's just take the quasi-nihilistic route and say it's all just one big mean organization of meanies. Screw making a difference when you can just make a statement.
He's trying hard to convince but he falls far short. Democrats good Republicans bad, that says it all. Bush is always compared to angels when described by democrats. Jesse Macbeth, hello!
If General Petraeus is LYING. Didn't he do it under oath? Let's prosecute for perjury. (wait nobodies doing that)Funny how the top 3 DEMS last week at the debate Shifted their views on how long we will be in Iraq. MAYBE because polls show MOST Americans belive the General. Maybe beucase MOST Americans DONT want a precipitous withdrawal.
I'm sorry, you are going to have to provide some current citations for "...MOST Americans DONT want a precipitous withdrawal." before that statement will actually fly. And isn't investigation into him telling the truth just a little more important than if "MOST Americans belive(sic)[ed]" him?
"Did he tell the truth?"
"Hell if I know, but boy he sure did sound trustworthy. Good man. Good man."
Watch Freedom to Fascism , no one can discredit this movie it is fact. The Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE BANK which most people don't know. It is owned by International Banks, have no allegiance to any Country. Our Income Tax no longer covers the Interest bill, we now need to add billions a day to the fund. Don't let them fool you in thinking you have a side to vote for, DEM & Rep work for the same people. Research Rep. Ron Paul for President, he stands for the Constitution.
We're still in Kosovo, We're still in Korea, GERMANY, JAPAN! where FAR more death and carnage took place. BUT we're suppose to leave Iraq FIRST? They're so Smokin' Crack and have so many others holding the pipe is outlandish.
Those comparisons are garbage. We're not occupying those countries. We should leave Iraq like we left Vietnam. I have a feeling you'd feel a lot differently if you'd been to Iraq or lost family in Iraq.
Actually we Occupied Germany for years follwing WW2. Leave like we did Vietnam? Unlike Iraq. Ho Chi Mihn was never caught in a Spider hole and hung and the the North Viet Cong was never over thrown like the Baath Party. BUT WE LEAVE IRAQ LIKE we left VIETNAM?
But we weren't there to against the will of the people. To imply that the symbolic successes of killing Saddam Hussein and overthrowing the Baath party could be considered victory is ridiculous. The left Vietnam because the NVA was determined, while the ARVN were not. The true is same today with the militias/armies of modern Iraq and the police forces and armies of the Iraqi government.
I ASSURE YOU MOST IRAQIS are and accepting of the US being there. Al Sadr's men have even called for a seize fire. Sunni's have signed agreements to work with forces to rid al Qaeda from there neighborhoods. To say WE are there AGAINST the WILL of the people??
Google this "sectarian killing in iraq" "bombing of the golden mosque" "bombing of sadr city" "iraq head drilling" How often does this happen in Philly and DC? PLEASE COMMENT??
The DEATH and Carnage in Berlin DWARFS what happened in Bahgdad BUT Iraq is a "failure". You would rather live in a bombed out Berlin but assume Iraqis don't have the same desire to live in am Iraq minus a dictator.
Civil war? Did someone say civil war? If this is a civil war its the wimpiest civil war I've ever heard of. You really have to reach FAR to call the chaos in Iraq a "civil war". Do you know the per capita murder rate in Wash. DC., Philadelphia? I guess that could be a civil war?
Simple denial and dismissal doesn't not make something true. 4000 troops have died, thousands more have been wounded. Your claims are bullshit, your logic insane. Why you seek to cheery-pick facts to defend a war that's divided your country and destroyed it's creditability is beyond me. On that note, I'm done wasting my time with someone who equates loyalty to a president to patriotism.
BIG question. We know you would live in a bombed out Berlin over Hitler. Suppose you were an Iraqi citizen, would you rather live under the Reign of Saddam or the "chaos" of current Baghdad? (remember, Berlin was FAR worse).
AND I'm AMERICAN, I'm loyal to any President. you can still disagree and still be loyal.
BTW have you even attempted to look t at the video I emailed you "The Other Iraq"? I'm still waiting for your comment. You don't even have to watch the 2nd part.
I told you, man. I'm done. I'm not going to convince you, you're not going to convince me. The best that can happen here is that we agree to disagree.
Germany was a divided nation for 40 years. Iraq has its violence. Its not a civil war.
There is a WHOLE Iraq we don't see everyday on the Media. Freedom isn't free. It's BS that WE can have our bloody to obtain our freedoms but Iraq>>it's just another Vietnam. ANYONE ELSE CARE TO CHIME IN?
To correct your statement of "Mentally ill liberals":
"Morally decrepit, warrantless wiretapping, Habeas Corpus erasing, tel-co protecting, money-bloated, media adviser advised, logically unsound, deceptive, politically worthless, and totally inept republicans and democrats who have turned our system from a representative democracy to a representative plutocracy."
It would be interesting if we passed a law whereby our Commander in Chief had to lead us into battle. I'm guessing none of this dialogue would be necessary.
I've been ranting on this in private for days now - I'm so glad you posted this to youtube so I can stop repeating myself and just send people the link. Brilliant!

I used to hate this arrogant guy, but through his bombast comes a lot of truth. He does indeed speak truth to power: now if he would only do it face to face, when he gets this cowardly dems on his show.
If we assume that your statement is correct, "Republicans are traitors.":
Then what are the current democratic members of our legislative bodies? I was in the mood to greet the new house and senate as liberators. I'm begining to see that it's really just a matter of two different, but similar, violent parties.
Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority: "President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low....So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes--the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."
Do not let those, Bush/Cheney, or, ('similar type'/'myopic'), Cult followers, waste your time, with their, SPIN, SPIN, SPIN, double speak or gobblygoop.
They will try to minimize, trivialize, and marginalize, the issues, because they do not, (partake, in dialoging for the purpose of, the ascension of reason), but instead, pursue the inculcated, dogma, of never surrendering to anything, that negates, their Cult's position.
Thank you, Cenk, for having the courage to ask honest questions and speak the truth. None of your critics on here can speak to any of the points you make.
Holy crap, I share an opinion a Republican. Except he thinks this means the war is great rather than that the Democratic party is failing its constituency.
Bush finally found a General who would lie when others wouldn't.
"The President is holding our Soldiers hostage to his ego." - Major Gen. Paul Eaton. (Former Iraq War Commander)
"The President vetoed our troops and the American people. His stubborn commitment to a failed strategy in Iraq is incomprehensible." - Major Gen. John Batiste. 2nd Highest Ranking Military Official in Iraq
"US Can't Win Iraq War Because Most Iraqis Oppose US Troops"
Cenk's comments about the media are well taken. On Wednesday the Republicans obstructed a vote on an amendment to give the troops adequate rest between deployments. Did the media go nuts about the Republicans not supporting the troops?

We are not a military state. We have a military for reasons, that also allow you to carry on and speak as you wish. Even if what you say is totally outragious. Sorry, but I do not buy this ....!

Why don't you count the facts of how many terrorists and insurgents have bombed and killed, including all of our soldiers. Maybe you have all lost site of those facts. Shame for not having respect. Do you have something against your country. Oh, what is that?
Quit trying to use propaganda to twist your opinion.
Its the same tactic the media used to try and discredit "Sicko". Everything is right expect this minor fact, so your entire movie fails the "truth test".
Its insane. They should have been fact checking Gen. Betrayus instead of an op-ad.
All federal programs to help the poor, sick, and uneducated will be left broken. Many of our Consitutional Rights will be stripped from us, the goverment can spy on us, lock us up without charges, and send the military into our towns. We will have permanent bases in the middle east, witch will fuel many more attacks against us. Corporations will write all our laws and control us with food additives, constant advertising, and the fear of muslims. Facist police state.
Democrats are currently a tiny bit less corrupt and authoritarian. But only a tiny bit, the lesser of 2 evils. Like the last election where we had 2 Princes to pick from, 2 sides of the same ruling class coin. End Corporate Control, and choose working class leaders. Kucinich 08!
the problem with the democratic party are their spineless leaders.
i am sick and tired of reid, pelosie and the rest of em keepin their mouths shut when they are being attacked for no reason. neither are leaders, they are whimps.
until we get leaders with balls, and big ones, the party is doomed to fail.
i say to the dems go for the god damned jugular of the republican party, tell em to shut the fuck up, and watch how fast they cave in.
In 2008, Iraq will still be a quagmire and Republicans will go down in flames for wrapping their sorry asses in The Petraeus Report. They can lie about this, lie about that, but when they lie about their lies, even the dumbest among start to notice.
Right on Cenk! Oh, but Woshington Post is so sooo "liberal", right? oooooo, so very liberal indeed. Ha ha.. These conservatives are NOTHING but hot airballoons. Though obvliusly full enough to blow over some silly Democrats. Republicans in general are just stupid, when will the Democrats realise this?
lol, Senate Democrats are stupid. Everyone: The reason that the Democrats brought this up in the Congress is the military-industrial-(congressional)-complex. The Fed Reserve writes all the checks, the DoD takes it's handout! Thanks Cenk!
Right On, Cenk! I totally agree and I think only those that don't think for themselves are hitching on to the "boys at the club's" attitude. Keep up the good work.

However, a vocal minority, can sometimes be even more effective and force something on a majority.
And there's where the muslims in America argument is, that, I think, Beck was making.
Example:
Fast forward 10 years, the gay marriage all accepted in USA, then come along a very vocal minority of muslims screaming "Hey, where are our rights to marry the way we want?"
xleax 2 years ago
Ok, I hear your argument and I see that you care very much about the subject of "Muslims Winning." and what Mr. Beck has to say.
Taking all that into account here...
Questions:
Who said anything, with any power or authority, about America continuing to be predominately white?
If I do not challenge anything you have said so far (and I do), as long as everyone with in the marriage is consenting adults, why does it matter who is married to who?
Who will have the authority to enforce this?
cifier 2 years ago
The stats show that 79% of Americans are white.
I don't understand why you keep asking me this. It's irrelevant anyway.
So you would be for legalizing polygamy? Just asking.
xleax 2 years ago
"It's irrelevant anyway."
I believe you think it is irrelevant, but I think it is important in understanding how your are forming your argument and how your mind works. So, if you please, can you answer the questions for me... It would make the conversation easier for me and anyone that looks in on this.
"legalizing polygamy"
Who people date, marry and have sex with, as long as we are talking about consenting adults, I believe, the government should have no authority over.
cifier 2 years ago
You proved Beck's point. Poligamy? No problem legalizing it with cifier in charge. ;)
xleax 2 years ago
????
What are you talking about?
cifier 2 years ago
oh brother.. debating with you is somewhat frustrating because you seem to not understand what I'm saying a lot of the time, no offense.
I asked you if you were for legalizing polygamy and you basically said yes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
xleax 2 years ago
Oh, I see. We are still talking about Mr. Beck.
"Poligamy"
So, what? How about another question for you.
What relationships should the government recognize, and which relationships should the government desolve?
"you seem to not understand what I'm saying"
Yes, because your mind skips without warning, no offense. But, it looks looks like you are unwilling to answer questions, sadly.
This isn't a debate, just a conversation. I don't think you the rules for a debate.
cifier 2 years ago
I would be for gay marriage but against polygamy, as most people are.
I'm not really interested in a boring Q and A.
xleax 2 years ago
"for gay marriage but against polygamy"
THAT is really dangerous ground you are standing on. Here i the reason why, the moment you say the government can pass legislation on "who can marry who," what happens when the government then says, "Hello Xleax. We notice your partner is much too your for you. We have taken the liberty of drawing up your divorce papers. This policeman with make sure you sign it or the policeman will take you to jail."
cifier 2 years ago
"the policeman will take you to jail"
This is the reason why the Q and A is so important. If I am not willing to question what I believe, lay it on the table, I could inadvertently say something that would have repercussions that I don't want.
If we are free, then we should be free to enter into any relationship. The more we say "this relationship is ok, under the law, but not that one," the larger a government there must be to enforce it. And Government doesn't like to "give up" authority.
cifier 2 years ago
I'm not arguing the hypothetical.
If you have 3 women you sleep around with, that's your business, but the government doesn't have to legalize that.
xleax 2 years ago
Sex is the icing, not the focus. If my partners and want to have a life together, why does the government need to be involved?
This is not a hypothetical situation. There are people living this way in America now. But we can't get to that issue because we can't figure out whether or not homosexual people can get married.
cifier 2 years ago
What the hell..? I was talking about polygamy, that is obvious.
This is ridiculous. I've already told you mine and Beck's position on gay marriage.
This debate is over.
xleax 2 years ago
If your position is the same as Mr. Beck's, then I think I understand...You are against it. And that is valid. But, once you bring that opinion into the idea of "governance," that opinion allows for government to disavow the "pursuit of happiness" of many.
Mr. Beck's believes government is supposed to serve the people. How can government SERVE the people, when government is in your bedroom tell you, "You can't marry this other person, even though you want to."
cifier 2 years ago
Please this small point in mind, this is YOUR opinion we are talking about. I am asking you some questions so I can understand it.
WE HAVEN'T EVEN STARTING DEBATING YET!!!!
"This debate is over. "
The debate never got started. But when you are ready, I will be here....waiting.
cifier 2 years ago
What the fuck dude? You may be one of the most annoying debaters I've known, constantly intentionally misstating my position.
I'm not against gay marriage. It should be up to each state to decide.
The gov. banning polygamy is not walking into your bedroom you pinhead. What it is is that the gov is not recognizing it as legal union(s). Nobody cares what you do in your bedroom.
If you really want a conversation ask me for my messenger or something.
xleax 2 years ago
I gave you his position on gay marriage, IN VIDEO...he is against it because of the "church" angle. I pointed you to the video. You said your position on the issue is the same as his. So...
"each state to decide"
This is NOT Mr. Beck's position, that I have seen. If it is your position, each State Government to decide...ok. It still seems too reckless a position for the idea of Governance.
cifier 2 years ago
"Nobody cares what you do in your bedroom."
WE ARE STILL NOT HAVING A DEBATE!
cifier 2 years ago
Watch the before mentioned Couric interview Beck and see for yourself.
The government can be in your bedroom only when you're doing something illegal. Orgy, sodomizing or oral isn't one of them.

WireWerksTV 4 years ago
Simple denial and dismissal doesn't not make something true. 4000 troops have died, thousands more have been wounded. Your claims are bullshit, your logic insane. Why you seek to cheery-pick facts to defend a war that's divided your country and destroyed it's creditability is beyond me. On that note, I'm done wasting my time with someone who equates loyalty to a president to patriotism.

They will try to minimize, trivialize, and marginalize, the issues, because they do not, (partake, in dialoging for the purpose of, the ascension of reason), but instead, pursue the inculcated, dogma, of never surrendering to anything, that negates, their Cult's position.
