If you don't get the point to this cymbal then you are obviously very new to drumming and music in general. This may be useless to many people, but for others it may be exactly the sound they need for the style of music they play. You can get some VERY unique sounds out of a spiral cymbal if you know how to use them. Watch "Spiral Trash" posted by ZildjianCompany for a video that is awesome and does the cymbal justice.

i actually saw these on chad sexton's kit at 311 day 2006 and 2008, he only used them once or twice but it was in tasteful application. until he actually started hitting them i just assumed it was part of the pneumatics for the drum riser, haha.
