Hi everyone, I'm just wondering at what price you could get a MacBook Air 11" (2011 Model) in February next year, and if it becomes outdated where to get it. My main reasoning for purchasing one will be for internet browsing, social networking, small to no gaming, homework and for music. I know many other brands have similar ones for cheaper prices but I feel more comfortable and reliant on Mac products.
but SSD is Flash disk like pendrive. And EEPROM (flash) have many problems with storage data , and run programs i dont want use flash drive for system files
PEOPLE HELP ! im 13 and dont know wich one to get , i travel a lot but i also want to have a light computer that i can run prigrams like minecraft on , PLEASE HELP !!
@GeorgeDzanakaridisTV Um im not sure to tell about which one to buy im also getting one but if your a big minecraft person you shouldnt get a mac im not sure if they changed it but the controls suck unless you have a desktop thats a mac and your used to the controls but thats that and a macs more for stuff like work but it still can run games but if you want a mac get one it was just to help
Some music would have been nice. Yes the air is fast but I'm sure by now everyone knows in every other aspect the pro is far superior. Nice vid simple I like that.
Thank you so much! This video is VERY simple unlike the other ones by other ppl on YouTube but you have helped me make my decision on whether I should get an Air or a Pro!
Hi there. I'm tossing up between a 13" MBP and a 13" MBA. The Air has a higher resolution, however I have heard that the color gamut is not nearly as impressive as the MBP - your thoughts?
@TheLadyInTheRedScarf If you don't care about portability then macbook air is basically garbage for you, still with the macbook pro since it's basically better in performance.
MBA is a reasonable contender, I guess the biggest thing it lacks is a superdrive. Without it, you read any disks. You would be able to say 'You can buy the external one' , but do you really want to lug that around with it, when you can just get a Macbook Pro which has it inbuilt. Yes, it doesn't have an SSD, but do you really think sacrificing 100GB+ and a Superdrive for a little bit faster speeds is worth it?
You'd be surprised how less and less CDs are needed nowadays in favor for thumbdrives.
I guess at the end is you should know how YOU yourself use your computer and decide on what's best for you. As for me, I almost never needed a CD drive since the day i bought the Air, and I still haven't filled the HDD halfway
For all it's worth I used to be on a 15" MBP (unibody)
@n4rgalzius Totally agree with you on your advice!
Wow. Thats interesting, because I've currently got a week old Macbook Air 13" 2011 model and loving it. But I'm kind of considering going for a 15" Macbook Pro 2010/2011 instead due to the larger screen and the nicer looking screen...which to me is very inviting.
@windowwiper96 In real life situations it isn't necessary, while CD's while still be needed for this generation of computers. This in the end is up to the consumer, and his environment.
Any trouble playing videos on the MBA? I have the first gen MAB - I love the size of it, but it has always had trouble playing videos (streaming or DVD). After about 45 min the computer gets very hot and the video becomes jerky (sometimes sooner). Also, does the new MBA get very hot? and how about no backlit keyboard?
Good video, thanks for that! Nice of you to show a bit more than just boot up like everyone else. Interesting to see comparisons of all those apps being launched, reboot and recovery from sleep.
That "response to power switch" is due to the HDD, not any "switch lag" or anything so it should be a part of the test. Your MBP really has a 256 GB HDD? Also, that 128 GB SSD is an SSD, not an HDD. HDD and SSD are different. SSD is not a variation of an HDD.
@brooped Thanks for the input. I believe I put "Solid State HDD" since I was under the impression that HDD is a hard disk drive (was thinking generally)... so saying "solid state hard disk drive" still seemed correct to my mind. But thanks for the correction if in fact this is the wrong thing to say :)
Yes, the MBP has a 256GB HDD, but brand new, so apart from the installed applications, it has never been used (i.e. prolly no file clutter, etc.)
@illicitjmoskid44 well i would recommed macbook air cuz you can takee it to school and cuz it's light and cuz of it's graphics and cuz of it's '' almost no ports'' thing, e.t.c. just but macbook air! oh, you've already bought one! im too late, aw :(

Apple products are just amazing.
Wonder if they will still be good without Steve Jobs around.
Thank you for making awesomeness, Steve Jobs.

I wonder how does RAW files handle on the MBA! If tweaking them is responsive enough, I may consider getting one.

Why is the keyboard in MacBook air silver
RememberMe2465 8 months ago
@RememberMe2465 its not silver, it's just the keyboard cover reflecting the light :)

what would u suggest cos i am considering both
use the laptop on my lap , never really on a desk or table
occasionally video editing
youtube HD streaming
and a tad bit of gameing here and there
what would you suggest for me ?
thanks :)
HaztaUK 9 months ago
@HaztaUK assumning you don't have a desktop, I'd say a MBP. If you have a desktop and could do your gaming/video editing there, then consider the Air

@anderacpharmd No problems with video (watching that is) I never tried doing extensive editing though... since I use the desktop for that.
As far as heat goes, yes, it does heat up, but I wouldn't say it's very hot.
There's NO backlit keyboard.
