thank you very much for teaching how to begin the crochet rope because i have seen a lot of videos here and nobody teaches how to begin so i thank you very much for the tutorial god bless
I have never crocheted before, but I really want to make these types of beaded bracelets. I'm confused as to how to begin with what you called a 6 chain something? Is there a video you know of that I could learn that?
@AlisonMP14 Don't know if you got an answer, but the start is chain 6 stitches and join to the first first stitch using a slip stitch to form a circle.
this is exactly the way my grandmother used to do it, I still have some of her beadwork and now would like to start doing some of my own. thank you for this.
Thanks so much for that lovely video! I had watched a lady doing beaded crochet yesterday on Create TV (KnitAndCrochetToday) but I couldn't see exactly where she was placing her hook. Thanks for making it so clear for me!
i love your tutorial, its very easy to follow unlike most tutorials out there, but it was very hard to see what you were doing since you used such a dark yarn and the lighting wasn't the brightest, but i think i got the hang of it, thanks
I am wanted to say that this is the best tutorial on the rope crochet. I am so pleased to know that I will now be able to make something I have been wanting to learn for years. Thank you ever so much JoAnn
Hello, your work is beautiful, have you used Preciosa components in your designs at all? They have an extensive range and you can get more information here on our Facebook page: `Preciosa Inspirations`
I'm so grateful for these instructions! I have been trying to teach myself this technique for DECADES! I could never get past the first round, not knowing where to insert the hook, in subsequent rounds. Now I know, and can't wait to try it! Thanx so much for these CLEAR instructions. : - D
thankyou for this tutorial. just wanted to ask a aquestion: i know you mentioned that to finish the necklase that we should join by stitching the ends neatly together with a needle, but im still not sure what you mean by that as ive not stitched with a needle before?..im only a beginner you see.
Thank you so much for this video~ I had seen how to do this on a TV show, and went and bought the stuff to do it, but I couldn't understand the pattern I got from the TV show! I understand it now and look forward to making some of these for my girls!!
I crochet myself but I've never tried using beads before. I thought maybe it would be much too difficult but I think your video really helps to explain it simply. I think I might have to give this a try!
I'm following the directions but as I go on, the circle in the middle is getting smaller and smaller and it's hard to find where I'm supposed to push the hook under the chain stitch, am I doing my stitches too tightly?
I've tried crochet before and lost interest..well now I HAVE TO LEARN Because I love the rope necklace! This seems like it will help me a lot. For jewelry, does it matter what thread you use? I was thinking about .5 or .7mm clear stretchy cord would that work or would thread work better? Do you just use embroidery thread or?
kept reading the books, but don't know why I couldn't 'get' it....this video was simple and easy, and now i've got it! thanks. (PS How about one on Tapestry style crochet?)
@artoftranscription I know, would also like to see the starting stitch. I crochet just a bit, but don't know if I'm just joining a row of singles to start?
Thank you SOOO much for posting this video! I started one already. The only thing I wish you would've done is shown one that's finished so we can see what the end result looks like. Thanks again! ---Chris
I just got the idea to try this but wasn't sure how to do it. Your video perfectly shows the technique and I definitely feel like I can try this at home. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I was curious as to how to do this, as I love crocheting, and the rope beading always looks beautiful. You could use it as the handle to a crocheted bag, even! Thanks so much for the tutorial!
but can you make a video about ending the necklace so that what you've said about ending it be more clear to us cause i've almost finished my necklace and i don't know really how to end it and what's the best way to end it with.
Thank you. Very clear. This is actually the first bead crochet tutorial I've watched that doesn begin with a circle of beads. I think that having just the yarn/thread at the beginning and the end is just the trick I need to get the hang of this! Thank you for posting!
that's very nice craftmastery, i thank you for this video because i made a necklace with the same way you showed us but i actually don't know how to end it, i've asked you a lot about that, i am hoping that you can give me an advice about it.
i've already tried to end and it with a crochet hook but it didn't work.
You can make this just as a rope (not joined) or join by stitching the ends neatly together with a needle or make a shorter length necklace by adding a clasp to fasten.
Thank you so much! I learned more from this than a class that I took! :)

stitch ends together using any SEWING needle that you can thread your yarn through the eye,
ending off by stitching down through the beaded rope before cutting the thread
