How can two forms of consciousness do battle with one another? I'm a physics student, and it was nice to hear Krelian describe SUPERSTRING theory.. This is the weirdest fucking thing ive ever seen in a videogame.
I always like this game for its religious type of views. Deus if I remember was a gear of some sort that got really wise and intelligent and thought of humans as a threat or something in that manner and attacked the ship it was carried on. Though the part where Kreilan said was in a sense half true Fei was right spot on. Humans have free will to love, be happy, work and so forth. Im glad I own this game and I might just play it again. If only they would release this game on the PSN store :).
@mechaart Deus was actually a massive weapon system that was used in a previous war... it turned on everyone, including those who created it, but they were able to shut it down before it killed everyone. They put it on the ship you see in the intro for transportation, but the computer, Razeal, lost control of Deus as well and Deus crashed the ship into the nearby planet. Henceforth Deus' goal was to breed humans or 'Wels' and literally use them to repair the damage it suffered in the crash.
I like the conversation. I think this conversation is the key of the story: the whole things going on is just to stress on these two opposite views. I think some of the events (in the game) bear similarity to real world events although nothing is acknowledged (perhaps better not)
That battle isn't hard enough for him to have to use the good combos really. The ending was more about the whole conversation than anything else anyway.
You have to admit that within this crazy thing you call a translation, Fei did say something great! That being imperfect and relying on others is what makes us human! Rock on Xenogears!
Deus is a system, not a god. But in xenogears he is the hypothetical god of that planet, just because how things unfold and why things were like they were
