@eagle112800 ok cool, i havent taken physiology yet so i was just curious. oh and since this was in 2007 are you now working as a biomed eng? if so, how d o u like it u shud do like a blog or something. lol idk
True, this can not replace a human stomach with this, but it is interesting to use it for molding what happens to food in the stomach. With some modifications something like this could be used to as an artificial stomach. HCl would be used instead of dilute acetic acid, an input and output would connect the device to the GI tract and synthetic enzymes could be used to break down the amino acids. Yes this could not go into a person and act like a stomach, but something like this could.
Why is it all shaking as the wheel turns .... there's a lot of mechanical tricks that you could use to have your piston going up and down only ... not all around the circle and then smacks the sides of the bong lol
There are two things going on, air from the bottom of the test tube and then the plunger. It is not a bong, but a test tube with a side arm blown onto the bottom to allow the air to enter. The vinegar is a acid (although not that strong) which is like stomach acid. It is also not a pill but a fraction of a centrum multi vitamin.
Lol, I was just kidding, because a tube with a side arm looks exactly like what potheads use. However, I will admit that the idea looks very well done.
sooo what does the plunger represent in the digestion system? lol

@hellokittydimaggio Good question, muscle contraction of the stomach, it is hard to make a test tube squeeze.

Interesting... but you could not replace an organic stomach with that system...

True, we could have done that, but it was important to have the plunger scrape the wall.

Let me get this straight...your stomache is a design where you repeatedly douse the pill inside a bong with a plunger and vinegar?
That's the design?

No, you got it wrong.
