  • What is the name of the Soundtrack used from 0:01 - 0:23?

(i've heard it many times but have no idea what it's called).

It's Great that "AB/4" (this car) has now (as of 2010) been completely Restored to working Condition,

And even better still the once thought lost "AB/2" apparently has turned up (abet in even worse state than this AB/4 was), & as such the belief that she had been destroyed in a Fire seems to have been a myth).

So only "AB/2" to fix up & all three will be Driveable.

  • song name at 2:32 please???

  • @zonjordan Universal - Blur

  • Restore!!! That would look beautiful done. Why debate not doing it?

  • @psykool8 If anyone wants to see the probe go to probe2001(dot)com they have a ton of pictures on there.

  • @EarDestroyer Thanks!!

  • @psykool8 its somewhere in a jalopnik post a few months ago

  • Does anyone know the song that starts at 0:23?

  • @75pro76 It's Twentieth Century Boy by T Rex. Good song BTW :)

  • The car is very cool, but the film is pure art.

Young Alex was the star, not the Durango 95.

  • They have now restored it

  • season and episode?

  • @buwaneka66 season 5 ep 2

  • @clementedelacuadra Yippeeee its 99% finished, just a few small jobs but its back and running. I'll try and post some pics soon but its hard to believe its 41 years old. Stunning awesome car. Yes Top Gear told me they wanted to restore the car but not enough people voted overall to pay for it. Having said that it didn't cost that much to bring it back to life.

  • @cflola LOL

  • DURANGO 95

  • buttecks? lol

  • Is there a place where you can get a replica body of a "Probe 16", It'll be pretty great if that were the case.

  • omfg how could they restore a mini instead of this

  • The Paddy Hopkirk Mini won the restoration which although is a great icon, is hardly as special as that car since Paddy raced loads of them and none are any more special then any of the others. This (or Princess Diana's Range Rover) should have won I must say but there's no way the BBC could fund something like that.

  • hou! the durango 95 driven by alex in a clockwork orange! marvellous!

  • I actually sat in one of these in Irvine Ayrshire-seemingly they tried to produce them in a factory up here in the early 70's-in fact the car I was in was featured in an STV news programme at the time-I remember it being a kind of orang-red colour and the drivers seat rose up on an electric motor when the roof was opened.

  • song name at 0:22 pls

  • @amushy1990

    T.Rex - 20th Century boy

  • @Mangotrond thx man

  • Whats the name of the song at 1.16?

  • @Mitsimad David Bowie - Starman

  • @Mitsimad whoops, i mean Space Oddity! :P

  • why they don't fix it ???

  • @MATTnROSEs I think it's because it'd cost around half a million pounds to fix it properly. Many of the parts are not accessible and need to be fabricated. The parts are also extremely difficult to make because of the odd shape of the car.

  • this was an iconic automobile so restore it

  • @huntingdog4u fuck off.

  • Years ago there was a kit car called the mantis agean coupe. From the side it looked just like this car. It was made by loring production and design in port orford, Oregon. I think the designers name was dave loring. By the time I was old enough to get a car they had gone bust. Later I saw It offered as an electric car package by a company named either valor or kaylor--something like that. I haven't seen it since.

  • CHECK a 2nd filmstar from czech republik FERAT

  • It's wonderful, restore it, please, the maximum of sportivity of '70s.....thanks

  • I hope they restore it and keep it in england

  • why?

  • becuse theres only three in ur country dont u have a sence of heratige

  • Restoration should be finished in 3 weeks and yes it will stay in the UK!!

  • This happened years ago, and they didn't restore it

  • Yeah!!!

According to the "Poll" Top Gear "conducted", the general public in Britain wanted to restore a Mini instead of this car!!! A Mini!!!

They finally restored it, but it was just sitting in the corner of the Top Gear studio and was never presented on the show or publicly to the audience. What a shame.

  • @tyau1234 They actually did restore it?

  • one of these was auctioned in liberty city somebody payed $600 million for it

  • @hamster700 That's awesome!!!

I heard about this as well. SOME rumored it was Jay Leno. Jay Leno is rich, but not $600 million to buy a car kind of rich.

Frankly, to a multi-billionaire, $600 million is not that much.

  • Unless you can post details you are taling complete bollocks - NO car has EVER sold for ANYWHERE NEAR that amount!

  • Having now done a bit of research, this car is apparently still awaiting restoration.

Seeing as it's cobbled together from bits of old Austin Maxis it's 'value' is actually only a few thousand pounds, which is why it has not been restored.

The highest price ever paid ofr a car was £13 million for a 1954-55 Mercedes-Benz W196.

  • @AtheistOrphan Agree with you, this car's value isn't more than a few thousand pounds, but the higest price ever paid for a car is not £13.000.000 , a Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for 20.000.000€, thats nearly £18.000.000.

  • I would say its unique and it should be restored

  • i wish they'd make a kit based on this design. i've loved it ever since the first time i saw the kubrick classic. i effin love this car. real horror-show

  • its a flying saucer on wheels!

  • Love how they use Blur at the end, the music vid of that song is an homage to A Clockwork Orange.

And i love the car , it's my favorite car ever.

  • thanks

  • Five Stars!!
