  • nice video buy what about performance? I mean what happens when you work with a database with a huge quantity of data....in tha case remote objects are the solution? Thanks

  • Things are a bit hide in Flex, and code seems to make sense from nothing, but it is the most perfect tool for simple client-side apps IMAO.

  • i use other adobe products i thought i would just come to see what this one does sorry but i dont understand thing your all going on about its the sort of thing i want to get into (i think) but there is much for me to learn

  • both are good, open and closed.

  • "If open source is so good why dont you work for free if you are a programmer. It hurts me to see programmers talking about open source like its somthing good. I dont need to tell you what does open or whats the real slapy/business/politics behind it. Did you see what it does to Sun Micro Systems I hope your boss tells you one day he cant pay you because all the software that was produce is now open source. THINK!!! " HELLO FRIEND 6 months ago i wrote the above message to you. what do you think

  • I am developer that uses open source. I use Apache, PHP, Perl, MySQL, Java, Eclipse... and I am sure many other open source tools. The fact is, millions of developers benefit from open source. If anything, I think it pushes technology forward and creates more opportunities for all of us. And larger corps can and support open source with donations since they benefit in the end.

  • Silverlight will, eventually, be deployed everywhere. And Adobe AIR is a joke...

  • LMAO...right...

  • Riiiight... That is why you are watching this video on FlashPlayer, right? Have a good time convincing Mac and Linux users to install, bud.

Forget renewable energy... the future is open source!

  • Why in gods name would you say opensource is shit. I'm a developer and i work to get paid, no i don't takeopensource projects on, unless i'm paid.

Though nothing but good comes from open source, there will always be need for devs\designers, always, no amount of opensource can take that away.

You must not do any programing, you know how us programmers love proprietary code, and how if it fucks up then we have to wait days\months\years(lookat IE) for it to get fixed, when we could do it ourselves

  • If open source is so good why dont you work for free if you are a programmer. Fucking stupid, It hurts me to see programmers talking about open source like its somthing good. I dont need to tell you what does open or whats the real slapy/business/politics behind it. Did you see what it does to Sun Micro Systems I hope your boss tells you one day he cant pay you because all the software that was produce is now open source. THINK!!!

  • I understand your point. I think some programmers get carried away with the fun factor of programming or just want notoriety and forget that these skills put food on the table for a lot of people.

  • Oh look, a couple of non-programmers. Can you guys be quiet please? Thanks. While you're at it, go do some reading.

  • It would be nice if you made a few points to defend your position. I'm open to peoples opinions. I support intellectual property. I feel much the same way as oranesmith does because of this. Now you may make your points.

  • What does intellectual property have to do with an idiot who calims that OSS means people are 'working for free'. A good programmer is paid fair market value for their expertise and experience, and still has enough ideas to ALSO contribute to OSS for the betterment of software. If you can't do both, maybe you're just not very good at what 'puts food on the table'. I hear DeVry is looking for students! :)

  • "A good programmer is paid fair market value for their expertise and experience"

I believe a major point you are missing in this is "need". A companies ability to earn wealth is only indirectly affected by their employees expertise and experience. If they are able to earn wealth without the need there is no need for you're employment. That's why HR usually roles through every couple of years for interviews. They're looking for that "need".

  • youre an idiot who probably watches repeats of snl every sat night.

  • Main reason why "open source" is here is because people like you and I have demanded it.

Without open source, we would have to deal with faulty OS's (ahem MS). or snobby ass Mac closed platforms all day.

Open source is good for business and the econ because it's not proprietary and can be deployed everywhere!

If we like the bureaucracy, then let's waste our time "jail-braking" and "updating" for the rest of our lives!

Open source offers us a completely customizable workspace and customization.

  • fully agree... and most importantly, it just looks cooler!
