I think I get it why most parts are missing. It's like a poem of the story. Three parts, using the three most important monologues from the movie.

1) Bateman's lifestyle

2) His shallow atitude towards the world

3) His real side.

All these clips sums up who he is and the message of the story; we live in a world where people don't give a shit, you can always pay for your respect if you're rich enough. Superficialness always win --> money always win. We're all like Patrick Bateman in a way.

after seeing the movie it makes me wonder if conservatism is fertile ground for deviant behaviors to manifest. when people try to portray this false persona of being perfect, being meticulous about avoiding mistakes,always saying the right thing, trying to maintain a lavish lifestye. to impress people. its stressful and repression of their true feelings manifest into extreme deviant behaviors as their personality is based on the deception of themselves that they portray to the rest of the world

Did you hear about Mary Haddon saying that one of the ways Christian Hale really absorbed the Patrick Bateman character was because he modeled it through Tom Cruise? The book is outstanding (all of ellis' books are), it explains a lot of what the movie doesn't. this is however one of my favorite movies. read the book...

im not conclusive about the idea of the movie, but i believe bateman is a pyscho because he imagines everything. in his mind he commits these acts, he thinks about em, and even reacts to em. scenes like wheres he holding the hair in his hand in the office do counter my theory. hence im not conclusive, but i do believe the 'pyscho' comes from the idea is that he wants to do these things, but actually doesnt. just imagines. thats psychotic. :)
