  • I love Dave but the Kirk solo rules - it is my favorite Metallica solo ever. You can hear Dave's solo, more angular, jagged; Kirk's solo more fluid, dynamic. One style is not better necessarily than the other. But in this song's case, Kirk's is better.

  • Extremely cult recording.

  • @SitotiKurton You respond to a comment i made 2 years ago and think i still think that ? I think you are the dope

  • Lars handed me a cassette on Saturday night 3/19/83 (altho it was recorded in their infamous garage on 3/15 according to the label) when we interviewed them and played both these songs that night on KUSF at 3am...Nobody outside the Bay Area (& only ten or so people there) had heard it yet...James, Lars & I talked all thru both songs over the air - so no one could bootleg it! Who would do that we laughed...

  • Sooo the Old Waldorf on Battery St....Ruthies...Any of these places still standing i aint ever been out to L.A or San Franciso Bay Area.

  • I personally cant stand Daves solos at this time period. just a bunch of notes tossed together real fast with little structure and about a 3rd of them are out of key. I can here some of the same shit on Killing. Much improvement on peace sells and then on.

  • (in the picture) Burton Shirt is great

  • OMG Dave fucking rocks!

  • I think this intro solo is better mainly because the chromatic part and 24 seconds sounds bad ass. Also I don't mind 34 seconds because that is typical blues runs there except more technical and it's played like 8 times or sometimes. The second solo is Meh! Shame on dave that will later perfect that awesome sound.

  • Personally I thing that sounds just like Dave. He did the same climbs and descends as he did in the beginning of the song PSBWB. He descended the same at the beginning of that song just as he does in both solos here.

  • AWESOME

  • wow that fucking solo by dave there, thats amazing why didnt he re-use it in Megadeth?

  • Part of Dave's vow was to play differently than he did when he was in Metallica thus he never kept this style nor any similarities in solos.

  • this is the only No remorse recording ill listen to, cause the solos are perfect, and vocals are near perfect

  • bah, just give me the REAL metallica

  • you mean KIRK not KURT

  • That intro solo sounds very similar to Dave's first solo in Good Mourning/ Black Friday.

  • this is a dank version

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    Kick Hammet cocksuckers.

  • theres a big difference inbetween playing fast and loud.... and playing good and loud... anyway I think dave mustaine such a great riff creator....but thats truth... this solo sucks

  • @danyzul Its not very good soloing but its easy to tell that Dave had a start and structure that he liked for both solos (especially the second) and had to improvise the ends until he could find something he wanted. I'm almost 100% sure what Kirk played in KEA was a copy of Dave's final product for the album. The differences between his mechanix solos in his Metallica demos and his first performances with Megadeth vs his final product in KIMB are prime examples of how his ideas always change.

  • Best looking Bassist - Ron

    Best Playing Bassist - Cliff

    Best Overall Bassist - Jason

    Best Technical Guitarist - Dave

    Best "Soulfull" Guitarist - Kirk

    Nuff said

  • @Patnod93 best overall bassist is cliff u literally brought jason in there? wow im surprised u didn't throw that ape in there to

  • 3:26 sounds like part of the bad omen solo

  • Pretty good for a demo! 5/5!

Also, what's with the arguing about which guitarist - Dave or Kirk - being better? Just enjoy the music! Life's better when you don't have to argue about stuff like that!

  • as awesome as it is to hear the early stuff with Dave i have to honestly say Kirk was a better fit for Metallica

  • Damn, this is so cool, Hammett sucks ass compared to Mustaine!

  • Actually Cliff and Dave also played together on the demo "The Horsemen of the Apocalypse"

  • fuck you your talking shit about a legend

  • The description is wrong. Cliff and Dave also played together on the Horsemen Of The Apocalypse demo.

  • Dooms first level 1:50

  • i wonder why cliff and dave are the only ppl not smiling in that picture?

  • because Dave is gonna get kicked out, and Cliff is gonna die.

    im joking ofc...

  • I LOLed at that....I know i shouldnt have...

  • thx

  • actually mustaine and burton are also on no life til leather.and ye what is kusf

  • KUSF 90.3FM San Francisco

the demo is sometimes called the kusf demo cos it got airplay on kusf 90.3fm :)

  • burton isnt on "no life til' leather" just so u know

  • i know i remebered after i wrote the comment lol

  • @louiscfc93 Mustaine was but Cliff wasn't. McGovney was on bass during the No Life Til Leather period. Cliff didn't enter the scene until the Megaforce demo.

  • @louiscfc93 In "No life till leather" they give credits to Cliff but he does not play bass on this Demotape.

The only one where you can have Dave Mustaine and Cliff Burton is on the Megaforce Demotape :)

  • @louiscfc93 burtons not on no life til leather. if you listen to it you can tell. ron didnt do any of the awesome fills that cliff pulled off.

  • @ScooterAndOtis i know.that comments 2 years old lol

  • @louiscfc93 oh, ok. but can you tell the difference between the two? you cant see until kill em all but its very noticeable.

  • @louiscfc93 cliff diddnt play on no life til leather, as it clearly states cliff is in the band but diddnt record

  • @thrasherlml comment was made 2 years ago.replying is basically a complete waste of time lol

  • KUSF 90.3FM San Francisco

the demo is sometimes called the kusf demo cos it got airplay on kusf 90.3fm :)

  • Sounds so much more raw than the Kill Em All version. Love it.

  • That's Mustaine's solos for ya. Think if Kill Em All was made with Mustaine instead? It would be like a million times better.

  • Then Exodus would be a million times better to

  • i listen to this every day it fucking inspires me man, shit im fucking drunk

  • never heard of this before. they kick asses here!!!!!

  • cool...history being made. can tell where they were headed. burton is BOOOOOMING! amen. and RIP cliff.
