I have heard that putting this compensator on the FNAR requires a gas block adjustment. Is this true and do you know the procedures for it. I am very interested in this device but am worried about it affecting my rifle in a bad way. plus I've heard threading the barrel voids the warranty. any thoughts?
@tfre3927 - A compensator is designed to hold the muzzle down, while a brake reduces felt (rearward) recoil. Ours actually do both - but we just refer to them as comps or compensators.
This is one of the most assinine posts I have ever seen.
The bullet retains full velocity when a compensator is attached. The comp only redirects gasses AFTER the bullet is fully accelerated and leaves the barrel.
Sound quality is very good for a gun video It's great how I can actually hear the weapon firing without immense amounts of distortion and microphone overload. Also, I would also like to say that I love that tiny whistling sound that happened whenever the weapon fired.
PWS makes the muzzle brake. We do not make the rifle - nor are we trying to demo the rifle in the video. We used it because it is the lightest weight 308 that we can find so it shows the effectiveness of the muzzle device. - Thanks for watching.
. one important note, it dosent like short cartriges and fails to feed, if you reload seat your bullets out, I tryde remington 150 grains and it hates them so I reseated the bullets so all of the canalour of the bullet shows and it cycles like a sewing machine now , recoil? what recoil?
The barrel will have to be modified, take it to your local gunsmith. most likely it will require the 1/2 by 28 threads made standard by ar type rifles.
freakin' awsome. looks like the recoil is non existent on an already a very soft shooting 308. Just bought this rifle and i am highly interested in this part. I just checked your website and the part (Precision Rifle Compensator (PRC) is not there? Cost? Requirements? FNAR doesn't come with any threading so how can one install a PRC?
Wait the sound was faster then the actual video

will it fit on a dpms oracle? hows the noise for the shooter? i hunt alot and its hard to listen in the woods if i have ear pro on.

@pumbaajk - We would never recommend shooting ANY 5.56 or 2.23 without hearing protection - especially with a muzzle brake on it.
PrimaryWeapons 1 year ago
@PrimaryWeapons - mine is in 308 so i am guessing its going to be even worse than the 5.56.

@junmiguel2007
Not a standard round, inferior to the .308 for most purposes (nearly identical ballistics in a smaller package, allows for a shorter action, etc).

@MrDarkwolf1995 - we make a great comp for the FAL as well!

As a audio designer, I must say that the sound this rifle makes is pure bliss.

Why is it called a compensator instead of a muzzle break???!

That is some fast shooting with a .308! Does your FNAR have the light or heavy barrel?
kasen77 2 years ago
I believe that is the light barrel.

Thanks for the video and product I bookmarked that 5/8x24 Compensator and plan on ordering one soon for my FNAR.
ParaBlood 2 years ago
The PRC is under the compensator section of the website. The cost is $99.95 and does require the barrel be threaded.
The FNAR does not currently come threaded. The standard thread for a 30 caliber weapon is 5/8x24, which is what the thread pitch is on the comp.
Hope this helps.
