I love that track you used. Really nice job on the your film in general. I really like the shot at 2:30 with the swirling/spinning "thing". I don't know if that's a chair or what, but that shot is quite powerful and you really threw it together quickly according to your post date.

On our way back from texas moving to baltimore...we get caught in THIS, THIS MESSSS I never seen anything like it in my life and Pray I never do again! I thought I was going to die!!!!! I never saw water raise that high in my life! I never saw tractor trailors on there sides floating down the high before either! it was crazzzzy! I was stuck there for 3 days police would let us leave...that and the fact that we couldnt leave unless we wanted to boat our way out!
I actually got stuck in Nashville for three days because of this. I remember people actually getting out in the water and playing in it. (not a good idea.) In fact, I never heard anyone even complain...and as I recall there were cars stacked up in a huge pile and even a building being taken down the street by the water...
EVERYONE in my home town complains when the water floods the city streets, even though it happens with some regularity. These people must be amazingly patient...
I found this video to be effective as both powerful, emotional narrative and as journalism.

I actually live close to Nashville [brentwood] and i work at JPA of nashville Jaguar Porsche and Audi and we actually had to move some of our cars around when this happen cause the water was getting so high and down the street was just under water. Probably the worst day nashville will ever see. Well Live Strong! Justin Bieber actually helped yesterday at his concert. Thank=]
While it was raining, I was coming back from Dollywood for a school trip. And we got home late. And I only live 20 minutes away from Nashville . And the next day I woke up, we tried to drive to Nashville but the roads were closed because of all the water , and the whole day on our local channels they were talking about the flood they showed us videos and pictures of it , and I just couldn't believe it . Because there was like no water where I live .
they should play what if god was 1 of us, maybe show the flood putting out a burning cross, or a cowboy givin an ndn some money, any maybe no1 can get upset about this comment, and realze its not so funny when it hits that close 2 home
This is so crazy! We are having a flood in alberta at the moment but not to this extent! I didn't even hear about this happening. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
we here in upstate NY were paying alot of attention we went through this in june of 06 Good luck ---Severe Flood of 06 broome delaware chenango otsego counties Thats a video of what we went through not nearly as bad as your state
@giantsfan562001 I'm a cornfed born and bred TN boy.I've been in nashville for about 14 years...It's not about who went trough the worst. It;s how our country chooses what looks the worst to put in the media. We lost alot of history, neighbors, family, friends, jobs as did you and anyone else that has been side swiped by nature.I just didn't think it was fair the way we were swept under the rug so quickly.
I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.
Michael, great cinematography on this video. I was stranded for 2 days in my house with very little food (popcorn and apples), but we were very blessed compared to families who lost everything. The camera you used is spectacular. Thank you for sharing...God Bless Nashville (meaning all the counties surrounding Nashville too).
I did live just off Morrow Road. My home is gone, the place i worked at a few blocks away is gone too. They took me off the top of a washer by boat. It was a nightmare.
As far as God's part in this the "Bible" says "the rain falls on the just and unjust". So bad things happen to 'good". people. And good things happen to "Bad" people.
@fairplay1951 If you need anything, please let me know, I have an extra twin mattress and clean sheets. So sorry for you loss....your neighbor in Christ in Nashville!
Look at this family's struggle with near death in MEMPHIS Tennessee. Do a search here on youtube under 'Rooftop Rabbi" and scroll down to the one where he interviews survivors of a first floor tenement flooding that left a sleeping family's apartment a five foot swimming pool in a matter of minutes. Titled Rooftop Rabbi in Tennessee Floods 2010
to the people who called me heartless . I did not make whatever comments you claim foul with. I did not even find these replys from you all till today. As I was checking my e-mail.6-5-2010 But, I do feel bad about the people who lost their lives in the flooding. I will attempt to see how I became credted with such callousness. I don't even know what i didn't say though.
i live in the Bellevue area. we were stuck in our house for like 3 days and my friend was sleeping over and we had no parent what so ever only two 9 year olds (one of em me) and 4 teens. we had no power for 2 days straight and barley got through the first night. my friend was so sad because his house got flooded. when my mom came i think a day later we could finally go outside when we got to where my friend lived it was flooded and my dad had to come by boat so thats my story
People! God has given us eyes to see, let’s use them. I would not have you to continue to blatantly be ignorant. Our world is changing; we are on the edge of a major transition of unprecedented time of human history. Wars are in the horizon, complete global financial collapse, NWO, more volcanoes, Greater earthquakes..., What’s happening right now is what Jesus calls the beginning of sorrow. (Matt. 24:7) God is NOT a figment of imagination, He Is REAL! Open your eyes! Jesus Is Coming!!
To anyone who is genuinely interested in wanting to know why so many things are happening; earthquakes, volcano eruptions, flooding, blizzards, tornados, and meteors hitting our earth there is an answer. The creator of the universe is speaking to us and warning us He is about to judge the world. Jesus is coming to establish God's everlasting kingdom on earth. What's happening right now is what our Lord Jesus calls the beginning of sorrows (Matt. 24:7). Keep watching the news and believe.
That was a good video. As far as people comparing this to Katrina, I hope they realize Katrina was worse. Still, it deserved more attention than its got. Im in Houston and I didnt hear about it till today.
@Antisyzygy The majority of pictures anybody ever saw were of nashville. Trust me, it was so bad everywhere else that people may still be missing. Katrina was bad, but the water wasn't 20' over your head and strong enough to carry away a train, and they weren't endangered because the corp of engineers didn't open dams without telling anyone. Louisiana got screwed, TN got screwed and drowned.
@ldksparda Dude, it's not called flash flooding because "it sounded cool". The floods came out of nowhere. By the time they would've tried to turn around, it would've already been too late.
And most of the deaths occured INDOORS and in houses. 1 was even in a Kroger's, ffs.
So stop talking out of your ass about a tragedy you obviously know nothing about.
This is absolutely beautiful, not the flood and destruction that has been left behind, your video is a beautiful piece of work. I hope your doing this for a living, if your not you should be.
Major Earthquakes all over the world. flooding in road-island and Nashville 24 tornadoes in OHC wtf mann i have a feeling this year is going to be the suck
my prayers are with nashville tenesse tonight, never put ur head dwn god has a plann for is all things will get better keep ur head up much love to those who last everything we feel your pain.
My heart goes out the people of Nashville. I being from Houston Texas and going through Tropical Storm Allison in 2001 and just here recently Hurraicane Ike, I understnd the feeling you are going through. I am very upset that the National media has not covered your story. I have sent emails to all of our major TV stations here in Houston an voiced my disbelieve of our stations not giving more coverage to the Flood in Nashville. My God Bless The People Of Nashville.
You are an idiot. There is no comparison as far a scale of Katrina vs. Nashville. NO comparison. Katrina cost over $90 billion and this one MAYBE $1 billion. Katrina: 1084 people dead. Nashville: 30. Nashville's water receded much quicker than Katrina. Katrina was both ocean of water and category 5 hurricane coming onto shore and evacuating hundreds of thousands. THEN, hurricane Rita came and thrashed them some more.
what dont you get katrina's cock out of your mouth and just have one bit of humanity and understand that death by flood is death by flood, our whole city was and in some parts is still underwater and no one gives a fuck. very similar to Katrina, no one gave a fuck (national news) , the flood itself, and people died, ummmm how does it not compare just because Kanye didnt get with michael moore and go on tv requesting money doesnt downplay the event at all. leaving to go do my research now!!! LMAO
Im guessing the only people that "disliked" this video are soul-less and with no honest idea of what a heart contains.... we are praying for nashville.... i am anyway....
oh look how much better we are than NOLA because we didn't complain about it, we pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps, we didn't even want press, because we were so brave and strong, did i mention we're tough too, look at what we did, please, look, anyone? anyone looking? pay attention to us! please god pay some attention to us, when will we finally get our moment like grand forks did. doh, why did this happen during the hockey playoffs, a truly tough national TV ratings competitor! damUpred's
God, they're acting like it's a third world country or equivalent to Hurricane Katrina. It sucks that it happened, but people keep blowing it way out of proportion.
@meheh Dude, I live in Nashville. This video doesn't show the half of it - in fact, it's tame. A good friend of mine had to tie a rope around his waist and save his neighbors from their houses since the rescue crews couldn't reach them. It may be no Katrina, but it's not getting near enough help or attention from the rest of the country.
@noblew357 Believe me, I'd LIKE to know more; especially since I plan to move to the area in a few years. Can't imagine the mold problems and everything else that goes along with post apocalyptic flooding and the covered up real estate jobs that usually follow. I've found a confusing map that is supposed to show what areas were affected by the flood and how bad, but am in the process of trying to find better and less "encrypted" info on this disaster.
@futrRockstar maiby it dont show avery thing but what i saw in this video touch me and a lot of my friend if i had my passeport i would be the first one on the plane to go help. if i lived in usa i would help but les iles de la madeleine is far.
An amazing video-love the imagery & music. Having lived in Chattanooga since I was three-I've been to and driven thru Nashville too many times to count. Heartbreaking. Thanks for sharing!
PLEASE pass this around...send a TEXT message to 90999 from your cell phone. You will be charged $10, and a $10 donation will be made to the Nashville Red Cross. You can also call 615-250-4300 to make a donation.
what a beautiful video...completely captures the somber mood we all felt during the flood. BUT we do what we know how to do - pick ourselves back up, dust off the mess and get to work. Who needs FEMA when we all help each other?? We aren't afraid of the work that lies ahead...we weren't afraid of the raging Cumberland. We piled in our big trucks and boats and went to see who needed help. THIS IS NASHVILLE
This video is wonderful...it captures our devastation and our sadness. We have such a beautiful city with such beautiful people. Thank you for getting out and risking your safety to show our plight to the world. I live in Lebanon and couldn't get to work (or out of Lebanon) for a few days. But my family is safe and for that I count my lucky stars. Thank you again and people please pray for Nashville.
God bless Tennessee. 7 days for the government to respond to TN/4 day for Hurricane Katrina (which was a weather event known days before and occupants instructed to evacuate). It's also horrible that the news coverage in my area (Florida) was "a few rains with a little flooding." God bless the southerners there.
I really think that the tragedy that struck Tennessee is great, and so is the need to receive help. To those who may not understand, the reason that Nashville has become a focus is because of not only the devastating effects to the many now faced with having to rebuild their lives, but also the extreme damage to this city's economic backbone. There were countless small businesses wiped out because of this, and many large ones as well. I do want to say great work on making this video.
This is bigger than Katrina! We just don't have "poor me" people there! These people of Kentucky and Tennesee have mostly lived hard lives and know how to keep on keeping on!!!!! They are God, Family and Country people who help make this country great! Rise up South and help your brothers and sisters now!!!!! Let's show the world what we are made of!!!!!!
That was a very helpful video and well madeThanks for shring thios with us it helped me to see the sevearness of the disaster in the Nashville area our deepest condolences to all the people of Nashville God bless you all.
We should make a movie about what happens during a flood and show the different things that happen during the course of a flood. This would include different stories of different peoples lives and situations. Such as families trying to get out of their homes and struggle to keep everyone alive, rescue missions, and combine stories to make one experience of being there and with the victims. Then it would end with the victory, of how humanity comes together to lift up the disaster. BLESS NASHVILLE
If you took a poll in NYC. 9 out of 10 people never heard of the floods in Tennessee. It was a one day story and no one paid attention or cared.. Worse than this is the fact that Nashville wants all the attention focused on their city. Tim and Faith are throwing telethon called Nashville Rising. Huge slap in the face to Memphis and all the other towns and counties devasted by this flood. Just saying . . . My prayers go to ALL of Tennessee devastated by this terrible flood.
You people are idiots. The reason there's limited aid going to Nashville is because the politicians OF TENNESSEE won't vote for earmarks for their constituents in fear of being seen as "too liberal" to win in the upcoming elections. You should think before blaming it on Obama. Also, whoever's saying the people of Nashville deserved this, should go to Hell. Finally, like everyone else has said, beautiful camerawork --- I'm sorry your message in making this video has been lost on classless people.
Nice job obama. Way to help your own "peeps". A shithole like haiti continues to get money pouring in and you don't even hear about this on the news, you don't hear any actors or actress's staging a "telathon" you don't hear musicians speaking out. You don't hear congress. Infact, I haven't heard much of anything. F-in sad.
i didn't know a video of a flood could undoubtedly be linked to political preferences. i don't think this video was particularly posted for political discussion.. but in hopes of gathering people that recognise the destruction and damage the flood created and would like to volunteer or donate to the cause.. anyway, incredible perceptive shots and great quality. this is beautiful, in a sort of despondent way.
I'am from Holland and here there was nothing on the TV or newspaper about this disaster in Nashville! Why there is so big fuzz about Haiti and is this "hidden" for the rest of the world?? My thoughts go out to all the people upthere and i hope they get the help & care they deserve!
@MrBlackmambo Thankyou! I personally think that it is because to the news broadcasters all over, this flood isn't gonna get people to watch there network. The people that have been flooded out of there homes are not looting. They aren't doing anything wrong or bad. We are all just trying to help one another out. Right after the flood i went and looked around. The only thing i saw was neighbors helping other neighbors out.
Wow. This video is the first I've heard of this Flood. I feel really bad. I hope you get some air time on the news soon. You look like need it. Good luck to everyone and everything there.
If Bush was still president he would be persecuted. Obama will get a pass. Liberals thinks he walks on water. I would like to see him walk on these flood waters. Thank you Americans for voting for this president. You are reaping what you sow.
Where is the outrage? Where is the public outcry? Where is Fema? Where is the National Guard? Where are people up on their rooftops crying for whitey to come and help them? And where is the robbing and looting? And why is it just one short week after this huge disaster, on a much bigger scale than the damaged area caused by Hurricane Katrina., you hear practically nothing, while 5 years later we are still hearing about N.O. and Hurricane Katrina? Fuck Haiti ! Your own needs help right here !
Where is Fema ? where is the National Guard? Where is the public outcry? Where is the rage? And where are people up on their roofs hollering for whitey to come and help them and the robbing and looting ? All I have seen is people, mostly whites, helping each other and taking care of things? And why do we pretty much hear NOTHING about this much bigger disaster in Tennessee one week later, while we are stlll hearing about N.O. and Hurricane Katrina 5 years later ?
@DoctorsAnLawyers EXACTLY. That is the only reason you don't see anything. Because there is no looting or robbing. Networks want interesting things to get people to watch there channel. And apparently interesting to them isn't the fact that neighbors down here in TN. dropped everything to come out and help their neighbors after the flood
@loveusorleaveus I think that if this happened in another country, the news would be all over it. It would have a "oh look at how unfortunate they are" affect than, "Yeah, crap happens, but its our own country, so we will take our time when helping them"
@jesusisawesome123 yes but just be happy and thankful you are white and we do things like help each other. I and my friends will not forget you, we are raising hell behind the scenes.
I love Nashville and all the people who live there, I am not from there but have been nicer folks cannot be found, they need our help, Dear God look at the video it speaks for itself, where are the news people, btw word gets out much needed help would've already been, I had no clue this was happening until I saw Kenny Chesney finally cnn had it on, Anderson even appologized but then poof nothing again, more stuff needed attention folks help Nashville please, at the least pray for these people!
Last month, FEMA Director W. Craig Fugate wrote a letter to Congress warning that its relief fund had fallen to $693 million as of April 7 but the agency owed $645 million to 47 states for past disasters. That doesn't include the $1.7 billion settlement for Hurricane Katrina.
I Live A Few Miles From Nashville...My Naborhood Got Defistated From The Flood...I Was Helping Out All Day To The People Who Rilly Got There Houses Were Rilly Devastated During The Flood We Had To Take Eight People To Our Home Because The Had To Evacuate.....My Heart Drops When I See Nashville Like This...I Hope This Dosnt Happen Agen...
NO remedy for these souls; Tn's Gov't rejects any notion of toxic molds. We wasted 10s of 1000s of $s & more than a decade on legal fees & expert fees - judges will NOT allow the case to be heard, mold is the result of the house NOT being structurally within code. The "5 stages of Grief," is real. We have friends who's homes were under water & our hearts break knowing the agony ahead of them. Wish we could make "case law" for the folks! Tn continues to kick every trial date down the road.
@OutoftheClosetTV: wonder this...you have succeeded at fomenting more homophobia by wondering if God is judging Nashville, amazing how queers just make up stuff from the Bible. No sense telling you what it actually says, you'll just call me a hater. God Bless Tennessee, this is a pity you guys.
you guys donate some money man we need it i live in east nashville and this storm ruined our basement washer dryer and furnace so now we are thousands in debt without insurance covering it just like hundreds more here
Yes, there are many of you who may be offended and mad at my words of truth. Truth of the matter is it takes extraordinary, life changing circumstances to bring most people to an epiphany of self-realization, humility and unity. Ignorance is not bliss. No man will be without excuse in the day they stand before God Almighty. Harden not your hearts, but believe on Jesus that he can save you. God is calling you. Seek and you shall find. Peace to all.
To anyone who is genuinely interested in wanting to know why so many things are happening; earthquakes, volcano eruptions, flooding, blizzards, tornados, and meteors hitting our earth there is an answer. What's happening right now is what our Lord Jesus calls the beginning of sorrows (Matt. 24:7). Keep watching the news and believe.
this is terrible. its so sad to see nashville like this. historical things were ruined like to grand ole opry, people were killed and houses were destroyed. we need to save nashville. god bless tennessee
I love Nashville, but I wonder if God is judging Nashville for all of it's homophobia. Nashville creates more homophobia in this country than any single city. I pray God continues to show this great city mercy. I pray that all of Nashville sees that God loves all people. We are all sinners and will be judged for sinning. Even those who judge their neighbors instead of loving them. We pray Nashville will recover and stop judging the rest of us. This is why the media doesn't tell your story.
@OutoftheClosetTV This left wing nut below is putting this comment on every Nashville flood video. Typical liberal hysteria. Also relishing in the lives lost, I don't want to be in your shoes on judgment day. I believe San Fran. creates more homophobia because of all the in your face mentality. I don't care what another persons sexual preference is. I don't go out screaming I'm hetrosexual & you will love & accept me damnit!!!
Im stationed at Fort Campbell in Clarksville about 45 min from nashville..and we have had flooding up here as well..im not from this area but ill tell you what..i love it here and wouldnt want to be stationed anywhere else..god bless nashville and everyone who has lost
Man this wasn't like the severe weather were it was utter chaos in one city it affected everybody here in middle tennessee. Where I live it was the city was cut in half, and the town square got flooded. My prayers go out to the families that lost somebody in this event.
ok so im just saying this is TERRIBLE u shouldnt blame tennessee for anything they cant control the weather GOD BLESS TENNESSEE.I would also like to say is that people are saying that New Orleans had a hurricane and this is just a flash flood. New Orleans had a hurricane about five fukin yrs ago. The flood is NOW!
I totally agree. This disaster has not been given adequate news coverage! Thankfully, we have videos like this to inform the victims of the manufactured ignorance being broadcast through mainstream media outlets. Check out this video of the Bellevue flood damage. It also includes useful stats, facts, and info on volunteering, donating and registering to receive disaster funds.
Ahh people, stop saying it is beautiful and look at whats really happening. People are dying there and all you concerned about is the pretty music. Cant see the wood from the trees.
This is so sad. It makes me feel lucky to be alive another day. You just never know what's going to happen. Isn't it amazing that we have such a wonderful God who will hear our prayers for Nashville! God bless you all.
i live in nashville and im so pissed that people are worried more about the damn stocks falling then the people who lost everything and some their lives shame on you people!!!!!!
it takes a disaster like this to show how divided this country is. where is the help from the Obammy administration. not enough votes to worry with and a liberal new media who just don,t care about the bad old white people. And O yes a few good old black southern boys. If this had been New Orleans. Al Sharpton, Jessie JJJJJackson would be screeming racism by G. Bush and the republicans and cbs, nbc, cbs, and cnn would have 24 hr coverage.
i lived in east nashville and my driveway was flooded. man that was awesome, and my house never got flooded.

Antisyzygy 1 year ago
@Antisyzygy The majority of pictures anybody ever saw were of nashville. Trust me, it was so bad everywhere else that people may still be missing. Katrina was bad, but the water wasn't 20' over your head and strong enough to carry away a train, and they weren't endangered because the corp of engineers didn't open dams without telling anyone. Louisiana got screwed, TN got screwed and drowned.
greatbignutsack 1 year ago
@ldksparda Dude, it's not called flash flooding because "it sounded cool". The floods came out of nowhere. By the time they would've tried to turn around, it would've already been too late.
And most of the deaths occured INDOORS and in houses. 1 was even in a Kroger's, ffs.
So stop talking out of your ass about a tragedy you obviously know nothing about.

Thank god. OH, and yuppy? hehe, jealous much?
You are an idiot. There is no comparison as far a scale of Katrina vs. Nashville. NO comparison. Katrina cost over $90 billion and this one MAYBE $1 billion. Katrina: 1084 people dead. Nashville: 30. Nashville's water receded much quicker than Katrina. Katrina was both ocean of water and category 5 hurricane coming onto shore and evacuating hundreds of thousands. THEN, hurricane Rita came and thrashed them some more.
meheh 1 year ago
what dont you get katrina's cock out of your mouth and just have one bit of humanity and understand that death by flood is death by flood, our whole city was and in some parts is still underwater and no one gives a fuck. very similar to Katrina, no one gave a fuck (national news) , the flood itself, and people died, ummmm how does it not compare just because Kanye didnt get with michael moore and go on tv requesting money doesnt downplay the event at all. leaving to go do my research now!!!

BLESS NASHVILLE
drimmeld 1 year ago

@MrBlackmambo Thankyou! I personally think that it is because to the news broadcasters all over, this flood isn't gonna get people to watch there network. Right after the flood i went and looked around. The only thing i saw was neighbors helping other neighbors out.

This is so sad. It makes me feel lucky to be alive another day. You just never know what's going to happen. Isn't it amazing that we have such a wonderful God who will hear our prayers for Nashville! God bless you all.

it takes a disaster like this to show how divided this country is. where is the help from the Obammy administration. not enough votes to worry with and a liberal new media who just don,t care about the bad old white people. Bush and the republicans and cbs, nbc, cbs, and cnn would have 24 hr coverage.
