otway and barrett are on tour again this year ..

saw them both a couple of years back ... it was hillarious, with otways manic humour contrasting with willies more laconic and world weary style. If you get a chance to see them, take it!!

Back in 77 and 78 when he did the free concerts in Market Square he used to hang from the scaffolding!!

This takes me back, I've only been back to Aylesbury once since leaving school there in 1980....

I used to put on Otway gigs, sometimes at Uptown, others at the Civic next door.

I strongly advise you not to re-vist Aylesbury. I dis, a couple of weeks back and I was stunned. Even the Bell was empty and up for sale, and the dear old Man is know some kind wine bar. Not a thing remained the same.

Otway came to see me and said he would do 2 gigs at Uptown. "Don't advertise" he said, "word of mouth will be enough" It wasn't!

He still plays as manically as he did 30 years ago in The Bell in Aylesbury. And where's Wild Willy Barrett?
