The super rare and hard to find 1988 intro with clips from the movie, other intros, and the 1988 toy commercials. Just thought of something instead of the International Hero Intro, why didn't DiC use the Movie Theme and have Hasbro actually spend some money to get clips from the movie and recent commercials at the time? It would have been a better transition between the Movie and Operation Dragonfire. I feel like suck an Uber Nerd now
If they do a sequel they could get Don The Predator Frye to do Sgt Slaughter He's in his mid 40s and can still kick butt he was one of the original UFC check him out in Godzilla final wars and listen to his voice He is the new Sgt. Slaughter
Sgt. Slaughter looked ridiculous cutting chains between his legs, lying on his back talking to an audience, while in front of the American flag. Yikes!
Kudos to Whoever wrote this episode ..The concept of using human DNA from historys greatist leaders to create a superbeing is pure GENIUS!! Pretty great writing for an 80s childrens show.
The idea was first used in the GIJoe comic. I give the writer, Larry Hama, kudos for explaining the process better. The cartoon just used scifi techno-babble gibberish
buddy(poster of the vid)..your a complete tool.. this is NOT anything to do with Arise Serpentor Arise..this is part of the song from the movie and clips from the movie. you dont know shit...try again dumbass
@Astraldragon1 Its because afternoon cartoons in daily syndication had much, much more freedom than weekly shows do today. These guys, along with He-Man helped very much to shape the format in fall 1983 when it was an entirely new concept. It took this show two years of weekly miniseries before it was finally given green light for a daily show. Talk about the little show that could! Transformers, which premiered in 1984, had a movie before GI Joe did. And theirs was actually shown in theaters!
Hell yeah. I was such a big fan of him as a kid. I rememebr when he left the WWF (This was before he became a bad guy) and they replaced him with "Corporal Kirchner"
What a mistake. Sgt. Slaughter was the man. nuff said.
Sgt Slaughter was raised from the dead (as the undertaker) and put under Cobra's spell by a Brain control device by Doctor mind bender.
After Killing 3 joes! Bazooka, Baby blue guy, and the other homo in the tiger stripe pants. The Remaining joes go on a rescue mission to destroy the machine controlling slaughter at Cobra Commanders Base. Where they find a plot to crash the moon into the earth. End...they destroy all and Win one more.
Sgt. Slaughter the Wrestler!!? :D

I remember seeing this opening on USA back in 1994 when they re-aired the Revenge of Cobra mini-series! Usually they just played the DIC opening.

Who can they get to play him. I mean Sgt Slaughter was the baddest mofo on the team. Hawk,Duke,Flint,Beach Head and Sgt Slaughter.

Get the guy to reprise his role as Slaughter; I mean he can't be too old to play him.
peterparker12 3 years ago
If they made it back then it would have been cool. They could use his name or show his picture.
2199 3 years ago
@peterparker12 Sgt. Slaughter is going on 62 years old and out of shape. He's too old to reprise his role.

The reason why GI Joe during the 1980's was great. GI Joe 1983-1987 all the way. Fuck DIC's GI Joe.
