@EmilioIshigami I know this is 10 months later but I heard about this. It's pretty widespread on the web now. The problem is, that there are so few other places that offer online mahjong to the same degree. I think serious research should be done before joining what will turn out to be any online gambling site though. I'd love to find another good online based site that offered all the basic mahjong variants aka HK, Riichi, American, Taiwan, European, and so forth. I only free play though.

When you count where to break the wall, you go CLOCKWISE. Play goes COUNTERCLOCKWISE. The narrator is wrong.

Its 17 according to some versions. I don't remember if Hong Kong version requires 17 or 18. I play a few versions, and learning Riichi (Japanese) Majan (Mahjong). I know Japanese Mahjong requires 17.

In Hong Kong mahjong they use flower, but you didn't teach us how to play flower.

The flowers have (or should have) numbers on them (1,2,3,4). If you are the east seat during a particular game (you roll the dice), then the two 1 flowers give you one point each if you pick them up. No flowers at all is also one point.

If you are the south seat, then your flower is 2, and so forth.

The flowers have 2 types

Flowers and Seasons, ussually designated differently by color of the number on the flower, or if its in 1234 or 一二三四, or if the number is located on the top left/right corner. A set of seasons (all four of them) or flowers gains u 1 point aswell.
