  • im gonna join the army in 3 yrs....

  • It broke ma heart seeing this video cuz it reminded me of my bro n I still can't wait when he " finally makes it home."

  • Excellent song, terrible video.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The music sounds like traveling on and on, (like our journey through life), highs and lows. This song also reminds me of my Dad. He talked about going home, the day he passed last year I said Daddy, please ask God to send me lots of comfort to me because I am going to need it. When Dad made it home he must of ask God right away, because I almost instantly was comforted a peace. When I make it home I am going to hug my Dad.

  • I cant wait til my son comes home.

  • Ah...first time I have listened to this in quite some time. It still makes me get a lump in my throat now...I hope Nan's having an amazing time up there with her Daddy, Love, Saviour and King. She told me that although she won't be at my wedding feast, she'll be preparing THE feast for me in heaven :) An inspiring woman...I miss her. Will this song EVER not make me cry? Mercy me have done it again!

  • Pearl Harbor.

  • this song was played at a funeral last week for a former deacon of my church and his daughter who were tragically killed in a car accident. They are at home with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

  • I love this song. My Dad passed away in April of 08 everytime I hear this I thing of him

  • R.I.P kayden. only two years old and he died in a fire. i recently drove my mom and myself to oklahoma for his funeral from california. long drive but we had to say good bye and comfort his family. rest in peace kayden, we love you. this song was played at his funeral.

  • My just died and this song was playing at his funeral and memorial service. And during fathers day its is really hard and i act normal but really i am breaking down inside. I am not old i am still young and i really just want to die and get life over with. I just want to go to heaven and be with him. i just hope i don't go into depression or anything.

  • @Army100Man The best thing you can do is live your life in honor of him and remeber him every day. Know that he is well taken care of with Jesus and is guiding you on the path of life the rest of your days.

  • @JG24rlzsun It is not that easy losing a person that meant so much to you and it really kill me inside and his birthday is comming up and i really cannot handle myself when it comes because he meant so much to me and i need more than ever. i cannot live without him, even though what he has done i just want to see him and feel his warmth and tell him how much i miss him because i need a dad and i need him now the most

  • @Army100Man I know guys as we have all lost loved ones in our life and I was only trying to be supportive. There isn't alot anyone can say to take the hurt away man. All I can say is time will slowly heal some of it. Good Luck and God Bless you and your family.

  • @Army100Man Hold strong, that would be the last thing he would want you to do.God loves you & he want's you to focus on helping others.it will bring you much joy.Your time to die is not for you to decide, only God..

  • Our thoughts and prayers go out to all our servicemen and servicewomen wherever they are serving,

  • Awesome video. My dad passed away last year and he adored my late mom who passed 20 years ago. Thank God they have finally been reunited in heaven. Now, neither is alone as they are with the Lord. Thanks shylow83 for posting this.

  • I think the 2 people that disliked this video missed the like button ;)

  • listening to this song and reading these comments makes me cry....i am SO blessed to have both of my parents with me, and i wish i knew how to show them HOW MUCH i appreiciate and love them

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • such a beautiful song... can't wait to see Heaven... wish they'd done another angle for the video tho... ah well

  • this song makes me think of my papa

    which makes me cryy

  • This song makes me think of my husband and not his daddy but his mama who he lost when he was only 14. I know she'd be proud of the man he became.

  • One of my favorites to listen to! God is so awesome!

  • Im literally home right now

  • I love this song and video. I've never been in the military but I think that's ok.

Did they write this song? I feel so alone but when I listen to this song and watch

this video it reminds me there are others just like me.

  • I love this song and I am looking forward to going home and standing in the presence of my Lord and praise his Holy Name for eternity....

  • This is a fantastic song! I just love it.

  • @528mx You are correct. I think they are just showing how emotional and happy we are when our men and women come home and how much more exciting it's going to be when we all make it to our true and eternal home.

  • Love it...great job with this !

  • Thank You, Jesus...I am going home to be in Your overwhelmingly beautiful presence. Thank You.

  • my new favorite song

  • Dad, I miss you so much.

its been 5 months since you went back home first. I want to tell you so much, and show you what ive become. We all miss you and we all love you.

and ill see you again, when i finally make it home.

  • This song seriously has some amazing lyrics! come check out baypointe's acoustic version on my page if you want. :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this. This song was played at my best friend's funeral. She was only 13 years old.

If you want, check out her channel. It's "taylorstorch".

    3/15/10 ♥

  • AWESOME!!

  • what a beautiful song god bless.

  • @ancheangel God bless you as well!!! :)

  • As much as i appreciate and support our troops fighting our war, this song isn't about them coming home. This song is talking about when we finally get home to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. :D <3

  • Very good job. I love this song. God Bless you

  • @528mx you are a Veteran of the War on Terror... I hold my hat to you and say thankyou,,but when a huge percent of our soldiers make it home safely and see their lovedones the feeling is undescribible,,, just as the feeling will be when we finally make it to the place Jesus has prepared for us..I feel its a great comparrison.... welcome home troops..

  • Amen :)

  • I love this song. I know i cant wait to see my Savior when i get home :)

  • um i kinda agree w/ 528mx

  • Exactly. this song is actually a lot about his father too, who died. "i'm gonna wrap my arms around my daddy's neck, and tell him that i missed him" refering to him seeing his dad once again and saying to him how much he missed him and what he;d done in life. Great song

  • I know.=) That's the way like it too. Where Jesus is, is my home.

  • thank you to, live , evan , freddie, and many others who have gone to war for us and our country. and to those who have gave their lives for us. ily and i miss you!

  • Rest In Peace. Officer Dave Strong of the Genesee Township Police Dept. K9 Division.

    1967-2010.

  • what a great song!!!

  • Awesome!!!

  • Dad i love and miss you deeply. I'm watching the stars looking for your face.

  • Words cannot describe how much I love this song! God bless the men and women serving our Country. May God bless them from harms way. I can't wait till next month when my brother comes home from deployment. : )

  • this is a really great song. this one song is what kept me sane when my boyfriend died last year. i still miss him not being here but i know he is in a far better place cause he is with god.

  • Really a beautifull song

  • really love this song.. :)

  • Simply fantastic, God knows I generally dont listen to this type of music, but this is just beautiful.

I pray for the whole generation of people who have given up on faith and God.

It seems we, who still belive seem to be in the minority these days.

  • i saw them play this live, they posted on the screen the stories of the people and this song

    it was bittersweet, but beautiful

  • This was played at the end of my Nan's funeral...She was so looking forward to going home to ther first and last love in her life :) It's amazing to know she has finally made it home! x

  • @antoniasd God Bless:)

  • this is probably the best song ive heard in yrs makes me think :)

  • aww man, this made me cry ;(

    great song!!:D

  • Wow I saw Mercy Me live on a trip to Akron,Oh a couple weeks ago. They showed parts of this video while singing this song and it just made me cry...you see the majority of the soldiers on this vid. are from the 101st Airborne Div. in Clarksville KY. (you can see the eagle patch) Where they open the doors in the vid...that is a helicopter hanger on base...why it made me cry was because my bro is from the 101st. airborne...he is a helicopter pilot...and he is going to be deploying in Dec.

  • This video really spoke to me for the above connections listed above. I am already praying for his safe return...even though he hasn't left yet. I want to thank who ever made this vid. It has really blessed me and it is going to help me get through the rough times in the coming year of his deployment. Are there other vid. out there like this that I can share with others who are going through similar circumstances?

  • My prayers are with the men and families serving God Bless. I know the sacrifice, I lost my 19 year old daughter in the Air Force state side, God is still faithful!

  • This song is so awesome, i love it! To me it has 3 meanings. 1. For all the service men who have been out there away from their homes and families and they finally make it home...2. For those who have lost their father that one day they will make it to heaven to unite with them once more. ..3. But the most important when we finally make it home to heaven to see our Father up above.... When we finally make it home Father God we will be in your arms and presence forever and ever Amen!!!

  • If Jesus was recognizable in His glorified body, we also will be recognizable in our glorified bodies. Being able to see our loved ones is a glorious aspect of heaven, but heaven is far more about God, and far less about us. What a pleasure it will be to be reunited with our loved ones and worship God with them for all eternity.

  • remember our loved ones will not be our primary focus in heaven. We will be far more occupied with worshipping God and enjoying the wonders of heaven. Our reunions with loved ones are more likely to be filled with recounting the grace and glory of God in our lives, His wondrous love, and His mighty works. We will rejoice all the more because we can praise and worship the Lord in the company of other believers, especially those we loved on earth. lose you earth bound mind set.

  • You have to remember that God is also a FATHER who allow HIS SON to die on the cross for our sins. A grieving FATHER when HE had to turn HIS eyes away from HIS SON as HE could not look at sin. As a grieving mother who has lost my daughter stateside in the AF. Yes I know she is not looking down on me she is glorifying the KING! My heart is sadly focusing on her, and GOD forgives me, because HE loves me and one day HE will hand her to me. Yes, I will first & forever fall to my knees to HIM!

  • well said, what a glorious day it will be when we see the king and even better when our loved one is standing with us praising god, we are his sheep, we know his voice and are willingly ready to be with him soon, the loved ones that have passed on early is because god wanted them home already, remember god gives and he takes and as a human we want to blame god right away but ask god what he wants to show you out of it look at job he lost his family and god gave him double and better what he had.

  • if we always went off our feelings and circumstances we are facing we would never be close to god we would always BLAME him and not glorify him when he makes it better but with a god mind set you can be like job and understand we are no one to question him he is the potter we are the clay and the pot never asks the potter "why this and why that" i pray for your heart that the wound be healed and that this may bring you closer to the lord then ever, have blessed day.

  • Sorry to take a while to right you back as my dad past awy on 1 Nov 09 and I had to leave to IN for his funeral. Am I made at God for taking him, no as I believe it was his time. I disagree about we can not question God about HIS timing. God desires a personal intimate relationship with us, When I entrusted my daughter to the Lord, I have to be honest I pray for Him to protect her to bring a Godly man in her life all the things that parents pray for the children not to take her before us.

  • God is loving and merciful, just - yes but still loves me in my grief. The Bible also tells people to come along side those who grieve. Throwing out verses at them may comfort some but in reality for some we know logically in our heads what the Lord wants but unless you have held your broken child's body in your arms or walked a similiar road it is easy to say those things. I still can proclaim no matter how broken I am, I am the daughter of the living King who sent His son to die for me.

  • Thank you for sharing your heart with us. It is such a comfort when we can "know" the separation is temporary.

  • This is a great video for servicemen, but also for those who have lost their dad's and can't wait to see them again, in our home in heaven with Jesus. I lost my Dad in may to cancer, and can't wait to make my way home to him in heaven so I can wrap my arms around him and tell him how much I missed him, and tell him about the man I became.

  • This video is so touching. It reminds me of when my kids will get to have their daddy back from afghanistan. Thanks so much Mercy Me!

  • beaustiful, saw him live in sa, texas and he sang this, he told uus the story of his father, made the whole audience cry, god bless you and all of your fans, see you at home

  • This song helped me overcome the resentment I had toward my dad who didn't write once while I was in Iraq and Somalia. I put my selfish wants aside and learned he was dealing with extreme situations back home himself. I cried when I realized I was just wanting him to be proud of me and when he said he was.

  • Hi mitchy9162,

I'm glad you're home. I pray nightly for you and your fellow servicemen. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. Please note this father is proud of you.

  • Thanks abunch rodriguezc66, this vid makes us realize we can't please man no matter what unless we are doing the will of our Father in heaven, and it's Him we are really pleasing. Like I tell my children: "do whats pleasing to your heavenly Father not me, who is only your earthly father." Thanks bud

  • wow is great pictures ........

  • I just heard "Stop this train" by John Mayer who I believe is a living guitar/ songwriter/ singer legend in his own right. But I have to say that I can see why this song by mercy me is compared and where the similarities lie. Im a guitarist myself and its in the strumming style. Other than that, this song is stands pretty much on its own. It used to be a pretty common style in the 60's and 70's. God bless you all.

  • heaven is going to be amazing. there is going to be a never ending party. i love Jesus soooooooo much!!!!!! i can't wait to get home!!

  • My brother is a different kind of soldier right now,..but i can't wait till he comes home.<3

  • When we get HOME which is Heaven, we will be with our loved ones and Jesus that have gone before us and we will be together FOREVER. Love this song and the promises.

  • I love this song. My favorite part is where he says, "When I finally make it home."

  • Beautiful

  • Love this Song i love the part where he says "i gaze the throne of the King frozen in my step"

  • praise God for this song!

  • Its not about John Mayer, its not about which guitar sounds better, its about finally making home to meet our creator! :)...btw the first commentor if u dont have god behind then it must be the enemy so i'll pray for u...

  • I wouldn't say stealing someone else's song and using for one's own profit is much of a praise to God. The ends don't justify the means here and MercyMe is not a non-profit. I think you're the one duped by "the enemy." Let's play by our own rules here: even CCLI states that if you change the words to any licensed song, you breach contract with them and lose the rights to sing the song in worship.

  • I love this song... My husband is coming home tomorrow from Iraq so it's nice to hear something like this.

  • goosebumps!

    awesome!

  • I will. I really appreciate your gratitude. Thank you.

  • NO, this song does not sound like John Mayer's "Stop this Train". This song SO MUCH better. The guitar in this one is much better also.

  • lol this band is not better then john mayer not in the least bit. and yes it does sound like stop this train a whole lol. and he cannot play the guitar like john mayer can. now go ahead leave a reply saying im stupid and i suck go on cause i wont care

  • well one thing these guys has behind them that john mayer doesnt have is jesus so they are a million times better this is on christian perspective if your not Christian then this band is not for you

  • okay lol you think your fine but your really not since if all the people you love is suddenly died or left you you wont be fine so your not fine

  • HOME is Heaven. If you know Jesus you will go there and all will be perfect. This Earth is not our Home.

  • why would anyone say you're stupid or you suck? just cause you like a band more than an other?! lol not all Christians are bigots!

  • if you don't have anything nice to say and you know none of us are gonna like the comment then please dont say any anything,,

  • This was played at my cousins funeral. This touches me deeply. God Bless.

  • This songs good but its a total ripoff of John Mayer's 'Stop this Train'. They are almost exactly the same. Hounestly i respond more emotionally to John's song but again this one is good too. If you like the tune of this, listen to that song as well.

  • I'm a John Mayer fan and I love Stop this Train but I don't agree with you at all when you say this song is a ripoff of it. The only thing similar is the beat. The melody and guitar parts are completely different.

  • Yea i suppose it was an exageration to say its a ripoff but the chords are the same. John Mayer plays in a higher octive and this song is lower obviously but again, i was exagerating.

  • Praise Jesus, this song is awesome, but

sickayda remember only Jesus can make u see the father

  • this is so beautiful. God is so amazing.

  • i thnk this song is wonderful but i am surprise that it only has 71,000 views. People dont value the meaning of good lyrics, those other songgs that talk about sex, money, and what not have millions of views.

  • dont bother comparing. Those who need to hear will hear.

  • My mom went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 18 - just 5 days ago. This home touches my heart deeply.

  • God bless you Michele (you have my name!). To be with the Lord...is what we all wait for. I pray the Lord help syou through this difficult time, and gives you comforts only He can give!

    Michele

  • this song has healing powers, truly written by a man of God. If this song doesn't make you want to see your father, then your not human, with this song, honer thy father.

  • 88.1 Played this song after they anoiced the tragic wreck that happened few wks ago...I truly felt everyones pain...I had to pull over in my car...God Bless everyones familys and what they have and are going through...My heart and and prays go out to each and everyone...Amen...May God be with them through all of their pain...Amen

  • I hear this song even I am sleeping...God is Great and God is Good...Forever and Forever...Amen...Mercy Me Ya'll Rock...Amen

  • absolutely grace filled song, i wish i could of had a chance to play this in guitar class.

Praise God, for all things that happen, because we have hope that there is something better than this waiting for us, from God.

  • Beautiful Song!! My pops was in DesertStorm and thank the heavens he came back. Hope all the soldiers come. Respect and Gratitude to all those who have gone to defend our country.

  • so beautiful.

    god bless everyone<3

  • I hope all soldiers make it home whether or not they make it... Sad world but either way there is a home for them. Infinite Respect to all soldiers living and dead and I wish them peace.

  • amazing

  • Which Mercy Me album is the song off of?

  • Oh gosh, this song......is so meaningful in so many ways and touches the very core of me. It's just gorgeous through and through. Lovely video, too.

  • This song is bittersweet to me now. My brother is returning from Cyprus in a month, and I praise God for keeping him safe for his family! I am also saying goodbye to two friends from church, both being deployed within the next month. I pray that God keeps a hedge of defense around them and keeps them safe. We should all pray for those men and women over there sacrificing their home life so that we can enjoy ours. And my deepest prayer is that they save some more saints for His Kingdom!

  • I can't wait to go home. life here on this planet is painful. this made me cry because when i am really upset, i think about some day when God call's me home. I can't wait. :D I <3 Jesus.

  • this video made me cry!! :,(

  • I hear this song and I think of my husband and all those people over seas having the courage to do something I could never do. I pray for their safety and that God touches there heart for experiencing what they do.

  • this video is so good the lord is so good there are so many soldiers that are out there and this song is perfect for them!!!

  • My son is coming home from IRAQ this very week!!

    Thank you Jesus....

  • Bless you and your Son. I remember when I came home from Desert Storm and I know what it felt like when my Son came home from there as well (we were there at the same time but served in separate areas). Just hug him and love him, that is what he will need!

  • Awesome!! It thrills me just to hear that. I'm so happy for you and your family! God is so amazing.

  • My son is on his way home from IRAQ this week!!!!

  • i didnt know this song was a crystian song

  • "I will gaze upon the throne of the king" Hint hint!..He is talking about home as heaven for Christians. I don't know why they used soldiers that is not what this song is about.

  • its not only talking about our heavenly home...but it realtes to whats going on in the world around us now...which in reality it war. my nephew and brother in law are both in afghanistan and we pray for the day they finally make it home. Whether it be home to us...or home to our Father. When you think about it too much...you lose sight of its message. God Bless You. :)

  • It is a metaphor.....For both for Christians and It can relate to Soldiers as well...As for the soldiers whom are Christians giving them "DOUBLE" inspiration to "Make it Home" Here and When we meet our maker....

  • Lol this song is a VERY Christian song

  • this is like the best song ever

  • My cousin died a few weeks and when i listened to this i was sure he was gona come =( But he never did

  • Be strong We Will Pray for you....He is in a better place we cannot even dream of.

  • This song is so touching. His pitch is amazing.

  • this song makes me cry because when I was feeling down about my grandpa dyeing this song came on the radio it was like a sigh saying he finally made it home.

  • Yes...I agree with you Aleexlove! :(

  • I dont normally pay heed to morons who complain about Soldiers and War and such. They are the ones who have no courage or passion to love, serve and protect their Nation to begin with.

  • As far as the current was is concerned i see nothing wrong in sending our troops over. Because I have forever believe what sandblaster 1 said. We were attacked and we have all the right to defend ourselves and fight back. People easily forget that America was never with war with any coutry. It was always attacked by those who stood in the way of progress and liberty.

  • If no action would have been taken against the cowards who aimed at destroying America, failed no matter, then we the people would have been complaining about it. We should be proud that we have such leaders who are willing to stand up for their nation regardless to what the UN has to say. There have been several terrorist attacks after 9-11 in all nations. Google it and you shall see that there has been nothing major here in the US.

  • This kind of protection, pride, rights and freedom is the reason people from all nations flock to our country. It is sadly also the reason our country faces such terrorism. Cause we do not differentiate among races. And those who complain about racism are themselves racist to begin with. Every society at some point in tie was racist. We have evolved and its time to forget, forgive and move forward.

  • I have been to Africa, India, China, Japan. Racism still reigns supreme in the name of color, caste, class & sex. Our society if far more accepting to such things. There is no reason for anyone to complain about racism or sexism. We share more love among people from all religions & ethnic backgrounds simply because they call themselves American. Therefore as One We stand. So please lets stop fighting among ourselves.

  • Glory to God in the highest!! Bless all those who support our troops. I appreciate it personally.

  • Right, let's just forget all of the people who perished on September 11, 2001. As a member of the military with two tours under me, I am appalled at how close minded our society is. Not willing to get up and defend freedom, yet exercise it to bash those who stand up for what is right. Mangati2, think about what you are about to say before doing so. I'm willing to bet you didn't lose a family member or friend on Sept. 11th, nor have you ever served your country or anything greater than yourself

  • Lmfao, we're right wing jesus freaks? Well okay, thats lovely to know. I am just glad to know that they are over there trying to fight for my protection & freedom, it's nice to see how much....'gratitude' you have for them. :/ <3 I love this song, it's so pretty.

  • I love this song too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
