  • ...and Stevie din't know Esperanza is also a nice girl !

  • What is the name of the second song?

  • a pure ray of light in the dirty, cloudy and auto-tuned world of music today.

  • YOU JUST WANT TO PUSH THE LIKE BUTTON OVER AND OVER AGAIN

  • MY all time favorite Stevie song.

  • I can't wait to go to Berklee and see this woman I just may cry!!!! ahhhhhhh!!!!!

  • Stevie Wonder can do no wrong.

  • @flyinghotwing Yes he must be very happy and well-cared for.

  • @flyinghotwing what does that have to do with the man's music.

  • @flyinghotwing Have you ever seen him when he was younger? The great thing about working for your daily bread is at the end of the day you get to eat.

  • @13thDegree i remember little stevie yes...and his innervisions were fantastic, as were so many of his classic albums, a genius and a living legend......he is not the only person or artist that was thin and then got big and heavy a couple decades later...

  • starts at 07:34 guys.

  • One of my fave Stevie songs!!!!

  • How about you for holding it down! Yes, yes, yes!

  • Two greats on one stage. I love her.

  • OMG... not only does he perform my favourite song Golden lady but he does a duet with one as well!!

  • @basicmellodies... U might be right!

  • She is the youngest professor ever at Berkelee College of Music in Boston

  • @harryhat88 I thought she was second to Pat Metheny, who was a professor at Berkelee @ 18.

  • GOLDEN LADY, indeed.

  • Songs great but video was all over the place meaning it must have been illegal to film.

  • Isn't she a Music Professor already?

  • yup!

  • @KenJWC Yes, she does teach music at a California school. She is also the daughter of my former classmate. Esperanza's mom, Tashina, is a talented musician who made sure her children had plenty of musical stimulation in the home. Esperanza's great!!

  • @alasdulcinea umm Berklee is in Boston... Berkley is in Cali.

  • @alasdulcinea umm Berklee is in Boston... the music school... not the one in cali

  • @KenJWC She was on the faculty of Berkeley at approx. 20 years of age.

  • @KenJWC Yes at about 20 years old

  • @KenJWC

developing a programs @ Berklee. See Wikipedia for citations :-)

  • @KenJWC yes @ Berkly

  • @KenJWC

Yes she is professor and what an amazing musical women she is, E. Spalding and what a performance together.

  • Stevie's gorgeous piano response to Esperanza's dusky and mellifluous vocal shows how she excites her mentor into paroxysms of joy.

  • I've been a huge fan of Stevie his whole career. When I hear a gifted new singer/bassist like Esperanza I hear the same thing that legends are made of. She impresses me every bit that Little Stevie did, and years later when Stevie's Talking Book hit the air waves. But hey... don't listen to me, just reality check this: Stevie invited her to sing with him. If you trust Stevie's judgement, if you trust his ear for new talent, then you'll "get it": Esperanza is a most impressive new legend.

  • I don't know who this CTrane 88 is but before you just start popping off about someone you should at least know who you're talking about. If you knew anything about music you'd know that NOBODY "just shows up" on stage with the likes of Stevie Wonder. If nothing else you should respect the "legend's" opinion. Also you should peep Ms. Esparanza Spalding's skills. She's a PRODIGY. A

  • You should read what I initially wrote, it gave 100% credit to each artist and was not negative at all. So before you start :popping off" on me (sounds kinky) read what I wrote!

  • I did read what you wrote and I responded to it! You're not worth me reading every response to see if you said anything else. I said what I said based on what YOU WROTE and I stand by it.

  • Yeahh!!!..Golden lady!

  • who was the chick in the grey dress. Lookin' delish!

  • What are you arguing about?

  • How did I miss this? Hope they make a CD!

  • Leace Stevie be... let him eat cake if he wants... he has earned it

  • what is this the biggest loser?

  • Esperanza is amazing.. Stevie is Incredible!!!

    I wish I was there...!!!!

  • "Fall In" by Esperanza Spalding!!

    Break out your iTunes money!!

  • What a great duo!!!

  • shes incredible, but stevie is a legend, great to see them together.

  • why "but"? what's your point exactly? they're both incredible musicians.

  • Because Stevie is a legend and she isn't...just what I said. You can't just show up on the music scene, regardelss how good the musician is, and be a legend, smarty pants. So if you STILL don't get it, MY POINT IS: she's a great musician and Stevie is a legend, just what the comment origionally stated, what's your problem?

  • yea i agree, i didn't say anything. i just asked why "but". but looks like you corrected it by saying "and". i have no problem, but it seems like you're the one with the problem.

  • Actually you did say something, that's why, if you look, you can see that you replied to my comment. And my first comment wasn't incorrect because it had "and" instead of "but." It's a simple concept: shes incredible, BUT stevie is a legend. Did writing and instead of but really change the meaning of the comment? No, it didn't. And because I explain myself when you ask me what my point is I have a problem? Cool man, what's your point exactly?

  • When Stevie showed up on the scene he was destined to be a legens.... The same way that Prince and Michael Jackson were (Mike the most though)..... She is not a good musician. She is an Incredible musician/writer/and arranger... She is an artist. She will be a legend. You have to start somewhere though man.

  • Esperanza is an exception to the rule: she is an instant legend, get used to it.

  • Instant legend? Haha c'mon dude use your head! The whole concept to a legend is that, what ever it is, it takes TIME. That's why Stevie is a legend and she isn't. I said she's great, it's not like I didn't give her any credit. What I am used to is big tough internet folk, like yourself, telling me what my opinion should be. Next time, you should save yourself the trouble if you're going to write things like "instant legend." She was instantly popular, but not a legend, kay? Get used to it...

  • If you prefer clarity: I instantly can tell when a future legend has arrived on the scene. In a pop culture crowded with "this week's American Idol star..."(yawn), it's refreshing when someone as talented & skilled as Esperanza arrives. A bit insulting to Esperanza's talent to say is simply "instantly popular". If she was aiming for the common trophies, she'd be the "it girl" of American Idol, but, luckily she is far above that crap(the pop music machine). Stevie digs her, even if you don't.

  • Thank you, I accept your apology. I am glad to see that you changed "instant legend" to "future legend." It is good to see you now understand the concept of time. Unfortunately, I am going to have to stop here because I do not think that you are reading my comments. My very first comment stated: "She is great..." which only begs the question, how did you come to the conclusion that I don't dig her?

  • Yes, I understand that you also think she is great. My point was that you seem to be saying she is some kind of amateur, as though she isn't worthy of sharing the stage with someone like Stevie Wonder. Do you notice that Stevie picked her and not someone who has already had huge fame & fortune, like Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Tracy Chapman. Surely that must worth noting...

  • If English is not your first language, great is synonymous with good, very good, excellent, acceptable, and other words expressing something positive. And why are you talking about American Idol? I am laughing. Please, read the comments before you reply...

  • American Idol reference too abstract for you? My point: there are dozens of mediocre singers on Am Idol(most do not play instruments), most of them fade away after they win. They make one CD and do a short tour. Most do not have enough talent to span a long career. In a world crowded with over-produced, lightly talented "celebrities", Esperanza stands out immediately as being from a much higher level, and will be a legend with or without the publicity machine & media hype that those others use.

  • No, It's not too abstract, it's not relevant to this conversation. Who said Esperanza doesn't stand out? Who said that she wont be a legend one day? READ THE COMMENTS. <3

  • If she ever bores herself by ready thse crap comments she may well retire from music !!!!!

  • I don't see how reading comments on Youtube would make someone retire from their art, but nevertheless, thanks for your input.

  • gosh! stevie i love him and her this is gorgeous!

  • wow....don't tell me this was at the Winter Show at Nokia...was it? was it?

(i was doo doing promotion of sorts for FISHBONE [incredible band] and in Pomona that night...couldn't attend this....IF this was at Nokia...)

damn... wish i could be in two places at once.

  • its about time!!!!!
