We sang this in HS choir many, many years ago and I have always loved it, but could never remember the title. Stumbled on it after 40 years and it sounds even better than I remember.

This is ultimately my favorite choir piece. I sung it with my choir Sophomore year. It was one of the last songs my mother heard me sing. This song reminds me that winter lasts for only a season, and the pain from her death would soon melt away like snow.

I had the great honor of singing this song for all state last year, and then having the wonderful Dr. Z Randall Stroope conduct all state this year. He's my favorite conductor, the best anyone could hope for.

I sang this in my children's choir years ago and it sounded extremely pure (I am having a hard time with these two violins!), but I never knew who composed it until I stumbled upon an old program...and am ashamed to have been so ignorant to Elgar!
