sorry but I cant tell the difference they both sound the same...The vocals really didnt stand out, they were still kind of low and hard to hear....but thats just my take on it
Do you mic your guitars or direct line them? I've been trying for about a year now with direct lining my guitars but I cant find a good vst. If you know Of any recommended vst's I would very Much appreciate it. Please.
@underneaththesilence he direct lines them and uses VST's. idk what he uses but i've found an impulse response loader thats badass try usin one of those
What kind of mic should I use for recording the screams? I have an mxl 990, 991, 992, audiotechnecia at2020, and my shure pg 48, all but the shure are condenser's. Any suggestions?
Nice tutorial. One comment though. I find that adding a bit of Distortion (really really a small portion of it) can do wonders on brutals. Or if you are afraid of distortion use a vintage warmer like one that PSP audioware has. Great analog simulation !
@MixingTipsOrg Good point...but you need to be really careful how much you add distortion to your vocals...ones the track is mastered the vocals turn easily into this fully distorted mess...I just simply hate when the vocals sound unnatural and fully distorted...kinda kills the idea of screaming if you use distortion anyway :)
