  • Incredible review. I got chilled to the bones watching this.

  • Will you be making a new episode of At The Railyard on The End Of An Era Over Donner Pass?

  • im the 40th liker

  • did anyone survive

  • @SantaFe5central Yeah on the passenger train, all 300 survived.

  • @GECP4256 Thank you

  • whats the music

  • what the music at the cab forward

  • Where can this add on be found at? It would be amazing to have this

  • @mountainlova1009 That is simply not true. RS3's were used everywhere in the northeast in the cold....and served well.

  • @mountainlova1009 Again, not true. Canadian Pacific had an extensive fleet of MLW RS-3's and they frequently operated on CP's mainline across the Rockies. Snows there were even worse than snows on Donner. Seems that you have this bias against Alcos without any real science behind your argument, buddy. Get with the facts, you moron.

  • @meccaturbo Moron? I'll Have You Know I've Learned About the American Locomotive Company for the last 7 Years, And I work On An ALCo Powered Road, Even We Run In winter. Sorry I'm not an RS-3 Expert But I frankly Don't Like the Engine.

  • I live in Nevada on the eastern edge of Donner pass. Its insanity how hard the snow comes down every year. In Nevada one storm alone dropped knee deep snow at my place. Amtrak's California Zephyr train has been snowbound on Donner Pass a few times over the years.

  • It looks like you have a bit of an "alpha" error on that PA's trucks. LOL You can see what I'm talking at 0:27 seconds.

  • @Espeelover For whatever reason, that particular savegame was acting up. The model doesn't look like that ordinarily.

  • Ya, that will usually happen for me if there is some type of error, such as a sound error.

  • Where did you find all of that Archival footage of the SP?

  • love the avalanche effect

  • do you plain on making an at the railward review of it? (not now but somtiome?)

  • Perhaps.

  • Did you know 3d train stuff made a donner pass add-on called The end of a era over donner pass?

  • Yes, I did.

  • What's the name of the second song?

  • Requiem for a Tower. It's listed in the credits.

  • Thanks.

  • That is one epic review you made! I believe you deserve a 10/10. Keep up the good work!

  • your best video yet keep it up

  • Which song is playing at the very begining?

  • Craig Armstrong - Storm. It's in the credits.

  • @trmania I tried to look up that song up but i got a different song.

  • Trust me, that's what it's called. Make sure you're not looking at "Weather Storm". "Storm" is part of "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" Soundtrack. You can get it on iTunes.

  • 1:14: and avalanches, don't forget avalanches!

  • Great review. Is it freeware or payware?

  • Payware.

  • BTW what activity is that at 4:53?

  • That's activity "1B" in the Storm of '52 set.

  • Great rewiew!

    I have it too.

Where did you find those historic films of diggin' out the "City of San Francisco" ?

  • AND, I don't use MSTS bin. (Gee, how many things am I gonna think of next to post, OMIGOSH it's annoying.)

  • And, this is no doubt the BEST of the BEST so far!

  • I have this expansion pack, and I LOVE it!

  • Thank you!

  • What's the name of this song? P.S This was a great tribute to the 1958 Storm!

  • Thanks, but 1) The songs are in the credits, as you didn't specify which one. 2) It's the Storm of 1952, not 58.

  • Opps my bad... LOL

  • Wow... just simply an amazing work.

  • Thats a great job you did!!

  • amazing video!!

  • anytime

  • You never cease to amaze me with your skills. Amazingly done.

  • Do you use Sony Vegas?

  • @GECP4256 Read the credits at the end.

  • Alright, I gotta get Adobe Premier Elements...

  • Great choice on using Lux Aeterna. Unlike when many other people use it in just about everything dramatic on youtube, this fits perfectly!

  • At least no one trapped, died while trapped in the train.

  • great review, perfect timing too, a big storm has hit!

  • All I can say is, wow! With the combination of filming, editing and score made this review climatic. Watching this makes me very excited for my copy of Donner Pass to come. As for the expansion pack, might look in to it more once I get the route itself. Still a tad bit concerned about the rotaries, but who knows. To sum this all up, this review was insane! In my opinion, your best work yet.

    Luke

  • I know you'll have fun with Donner, Luke. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Hey, Luke. You think the next episode will be based on this event happening?

  • @736berkshire It absolutely should be.

  • Absolutely beautiful. I'm not surprised that you are going into film because you do an absolutely fantastic job. If I ever get the money this route will become my new favorite.

  • It's definitely a good investment.

  • love your videos nick 5 stars and favorite too!

  • Thanks!

  • I know what you mean some engineer crew members died in a trotary snowplow because of a avalanche and the passengers have to rip up the upholstery to keep warm and one of the cars had carbon monoxide leaking in

  • How awful it must've been during that time.

  • It was, unquestionably.

  • I need to get this route, you know how to make it look it's best

  • It is a great-looking route.
