I can't see the US buying the A400M when they are producing the C130J Hercules even though the A400M has greater capacity. The new C130J is 62million USD and the A400M is 136 million Euros. The AN-70 has greater capacity than the A400M by about 20,000 lbs and costs between 50-70 million USD. Too bad politics always plays a hand in the purchase of aircraft. Frankly speaking, as a US taxpayer, I would want to look at the AN-70 as an alternative due to cost and capability. Just my opinion.
