Deffinately a good use of the Whats The Worst That Could Happen tagline! Bloody is the worst thing i can imagine to happen! ANd dont be fooled thinking its all fictional! Anythings possible with Dr Pepper!
Dr Pepper have had some pretty amazing ads over the years =] Anyone checked out the latest one?? (With the lad and his girlfriends father wrestling!) That had me in hysterics!
Wonder when it was made...If they were drinking outta glass bottles, must have been a while ago. Would make that oh-so refreshing taste even better imo.
The new Dr. Pepper ads live up to the old ones too, check them out. Whats the worst that could happen? (ba-dom chhhh)
This Ad Makes Me Laugh. Not Only Is The Tagline 'Whats The Worst That Can Happen' Used Sooo Well...Considering There's A Giant Dinosaur Thing There. But Just The Fact That They All Just Kick Back And Enjoy A Dr Pepper And Everything Goes Back To Being Calm...Like It's Completley Normal To Relax And Enjoy A Cool Refreshment When You're Being Attacked By A Monster. Tbh Though...If I Was Going To Be Destroyed By A Weird, Creepy Monster...I'd Want My Last Drink To Be Dr Pepper Too. Thanks, Jess
AHHHH I AM A GODZILLA FAN AND I AM AGAINST GODZILLA RACISM BOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Look, I've seen more kaiju movies than anyone i know, and seriously, who cares if ppl make fun of them? Besides, Gamera and Ultraman could each hand Godzilla's rump to him.
IT'S A FREAKIN' COMMERCIAL! Some people aren't going get the broad tongue-in-cheek homage, because they're too short-sighted—or don't have the proper frame of reference (like being a young adult in 1985). "Oh, Godzilla doesn't really look like that!" No sh*t, Sherlock. Tell us something we don't know—Godzilla looks different in every single one of the movies. if you haven't noticed. Sheesh.
yes he does look like that and if u think that the wimpy gay one from 1998 is the real godzilla, then ur wrong, the real Godzilla aka: Gojira was made in 1954
This commercial pre-dated the release of GODZILLA 1985 -- the campaign started in October 1984 with several classic monsters. The most popular commercial was the Godzilla one. So, they made a sequel. When New World Pictures picked up the rights to GODZILLA (1984), they tied up with Dr. Pepper to cross-promote the release of the film, retitled as GODZILLA 1985.
Unfortunately the New World Pictures/Dr. Pepper team-up worked against the movie...any seriousness the movie had was undermined.
Poor Raymond Burr actually had this line in the movie: "Godzilla's looking for something...searching"! And of course everyone in the audience is snickering, saying "yeah, he's looking for a Dr. Pepper"!

Dr Pepper did help sponser the Godzilla 1985 movie. Notice the pop machines as the people passed them w/the Dr Pepper advertisments!

I love how much this commercial used the same line and shot from the original Godzilla movie.

This is very cheap Godzilla, but it is so happy commercial for me.
Because it is obvious that this is homage to the first work of the movie of our Japanese monster.
Thanks for posting this.
