The crowd is probably un-animated cause thier stupified . And higher levels of listening do require higher levels of concentration. Marks playing is nothing less than superb on this. Killer Bass playing in anyones arena.

this is the best bass i have ever seen in action. im learning this song at the moment on bass, insanely hard to cover. and there is no 'battle' between the bass and the guitar in this song, as you can see that bass is clearly overpowering the guitar in every way! :P bass playing is not about laying down just root notes for the guitar, its just as an important role as the lead guitarist, despite only having 4 strings, which is no big deal anyway! :P

the reason he hates saying it is because usally guitarists belive themselves better because a standard bass only has 4 big strings whereas the guitar have 6, i dont understand why people make a big deal about it

It can't possibly be due to number of strings otherwise surely the harp is much better by that logic...

I think it's because a lot of close minded ignorant guitarists think bass is just for root notes and requires no skill.
