  • you are hilarious!! So charming!

  • i love your videos. You are an inspiration to me. Your skin and hair is gorgeous. Please share or even make a video about your skin (face) care regimen. Are you wearing foundation in this video? Do you wear makeup at all? I want to achieve a natural glo like yours

  • As a white mum with mixed race daughters (and a little useless with hair at the best of times!) I'm finding your videos incredibly helpful. :) You make it look so easy and your daughters' hair is beautiful.

Where can I buy a heat cap from? I've seen heat wraps but I'm not sure they will work as well. Thanks. :)

  • Great I'm going to try this with a hooded dryer!! cool!

  • You are hilarious! I love your little clips before the tutorials!!! The tutorial are very very helpful too. Thanks so much

  • "Dis youn' gayl" LOL!!!

  • I just want to say thank you for your vids. My baby girl (2 yrs of age) has 4b hair and I was running out of ideas. She sits very well with distractions and allowed me to do the threading. It came out beautiful. I am going to always teach my daughter NATURAL IS BEAUTIFUL AND HEALTHY!. I wished I would of went natural in my early years.

  • @wilsonkia Aww, that is awesome! I wish the same too. Can you imagine where our hair would be now if we did? Thanks for watching. I'm glad the videos helped. x

  • do you do this all th time, and do you get the roots with the oil

  • @ThecuteSarah09 I try and do this after every wash and I usually shampoo their hair every other week. I guess I get it to about an inch away from the scalp? I concentrate mostly on the ends, because that's furthest away from the scalp and the natural oils that come from the scalp and protect their hair is only able to get so far down the hair strands.

  • Hello I am Ghanian too and need urgent help to get back my natural hair. Can you let us know what products you use for: washing, conditioning, leave-in, etc.?!

Would be a great help. I searched the whole channels and couldn't find anybody here with my hair typ/Ghanian!

  • @missfavoured Ha! I'm going to do a vid on it, but for now I go between Organix coconut milk shampoo and Pantene Relaxed and Natural Moisturising shampoo and conditioners. I also sometimes use Coconut Sublime Conditioner. Honestly, I'm not really loyal to any shampoo or conditioner. I find that keeping my hair moisturised and in protective styles is the key. For a leave in I use Giovanni's Leave in Conditioner and seal with coconut oil or my shea butter mixes. :)

  • @missfavoured have you tried fusionofculture? She is half ghanaian and has long type four hair.

  • OMG!!! LOL this is too much!

  • @sheabuttaful :D x

  • The part bout you and your uncle (when you act as him) always makes me LAUGH OUT LOUD!!! LOL !!! XD

    ;-)

  • @BluPrint9 Thank you!! :)) x

  • quick question for you nadine. after you apply the shea butter mix and the coconut oil, sit under the heat cap, do you rinse the hair? or go straight to styling?

  • @tyrondaking Sorry for the late response.... No and that's what I love about it. It saves me a step because I don't have to rinse it out :)

  • He was right. Stay out of trouble and eat. Too funny. When you're young, it can get to be annoying. But, you appreciate the advice later on in life. I get on my son's last nerve. Think I care. I tell him "it would be wise to take heed to what I'm telling you." Something happens to your nerves as you get older. Shoot, he'll see later on down the road. Great tut!!!!!

  • @zheahra LOL! So true. I will be telling my girls the same thing! Thanks for watching :) x

  • @TheNaprika Ha! Thank you :). Yes, I keep it REALLY simple :). I use Giovanni's leave in, shea butter mix and water.

  • @GirlsLoveYourCurls thanks, i tried this mix the other day and OMG a hit! thanks again :)

  • @TheNaprika Brilliant! Glad it worked for you too :) x

  • ur skin is delicious and so is ur twistout!!!

  • @curvybody2 Thanks! :)

  • This is my first time to your channel. I like the way you take care of your daughter's hair, it's similar to the way I care for my own daughter's hair. I'm definitely subscribing, maybe I can gain a pointer or two! :-)

  • @glv456 Thank you and welcome! I hope you find this channel helpful and that you share some of your tips with us too! :)

  • I just suscribed to your channel, you are very funny! I'd like to know what you did for your hair to look like that! I love the waves and curls!

  • @cgustave1 Hello Thank you! This was a twist out that was a few days old. At night I part the twistouts into about 8 sections, run my hands over them with some Giovanni's direct leave in conditioner, seal with shea butter mix and then two strand twist. Doing this helps my twist outs last longer. :)

  • Although I am West-Indian, my step-father is Nigerian and therefore it has been drilled into me that fufu cures EVERYTHING!

  • @7:19 She held up Michael Jackson's Of the Wall CD, she has GREAT taste in music, LOL. And awesome job taking care of your daughters' hair.

  • @naturaluv85 Ha ha! You caught that! Yes, we LOVE that CD. Thank you and thanks for watching :).

  • can do satin cap hair maliquehough

  • can do satin cap hair

  • This skit is amazing my stomach is hurting from laughing so hard. One time for all my ghanaians.

  • Hey i have a question are you Ghanaian?

  • @segoah123 Hi, I was born and raised in England, but both my parents were born and raised in Ghana, so yes I am :).

  • @mazda62617 I’m sorry my format isn’t to your liking. I'm not sure if you watched that far, but I do have a demo on how I deep moisture our hair after the skit at 4:48, so you can skip right to that section if you’d like. Just to warn you, I don’t usually jump right into the main tutorial on a lot of my videos, so my channel my not work for you, but thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

  • @GirlsLoveYourCurls I just discovered your channel today, and I absolutely LOVE your format. I think you are hilarious, and very interesting to listen to. I've gone through several of your tutorials, and plan to try the African Threading on my 6 year old. It is refreshing that you inject humour in videos, so I'm being entertained while being educated. Please keep up the great work. Your daughters are beautiful, and I love their hair (yours too). Thank you so much!

  • @sandnsea212 Ahh, thank you for your kind comments. You guys keep me going :) x

  • OMG, I love you! You are so hilarious! I can so relate, because my dad's side of the family is from Liberia and you sounded like my aunts speaking like that. Girl, now I want some fufu and pepper soup!

  • LOL you are a hilarious comedianne! Oh my goodness. I have laughed AND learned so much this morning! I was ill for a long time and I am bedbound right now recuperating. Your videos have made my day! I NEED to learn how to fix my sister's hair and I LOVE your African Thread Braiding method. It takes so much tension off the hair, no more pulling the hair for the rubber band method. Thank you so much!

  • @belverbears Thank you for taking the time to comment. ! I'm so glad I could make you feel better and I hope you are up and well now. I would love to hear if you try African braiding on your sister's hair. :) x

  • @belverbears Thank you for taking the time to comment. ! I'm so glad I could make you feel better and I hope you are up and well now. I would love to hear if you try African braiding on your sister's hair. :) x

  • May i ask where you got that heating cap?

  • @anewmeePassion I got it from the beauty supply store about 10 years ago! It's called 'Gold N Hot heat conditioning cap'. :)

  • where did you buy the heat cap? and btw, ur daughter is sooo adorable

  • @myzzio Thank you! From the beauty supply store about 10 years ago, so I don't remember how much it cost, but It's called 'Gold N Hot heat conditioning cap'. :)

  • do they wear the african threading to school? That style used to make my hair grow soooooo fast.

  • @myzzio Hi! just going through my messages. Yes, they do wear it to school, just like I did and it is the best at helping to maintain length! :)

  • yummm... i miss fufu, pounded yam, casava, garri, jelof rice, african pear, plantain, REAL yam... the whole lot. *sigh* you've got me thinkin about home... canada sucks

  • At what age did you start using the heat cap?

  • I love your videos....Entertaining and Informative....Do you have a recipe for Jollof Rice that you could share?

  • Lol we Ghanaian's love ur food ^_^

  • Hello, I will be deep conditioning my daughters hair this week, can you please tell me how you make your shea butter mix. Thank you

  • @1MARNYLA Sorry it took a while, everyone has been sick, domino style at our house! I've just posted video #17 which gives step by step instructions. Thanks for watching!

  • Your videos are hilarious! African parents are the best eat your fufu lol ....is that a twist out you have on your own hair?

  • @ddiakanwa Ha ha! Aren't they?! You've gotta love 'em. Yes, I'm wearing a twist out in this vid. Thanks for watching!

  • How often do you moisturize the hair?

  • @mojitochica I usually do a deep condition every time I wash their hair, which is about every other week. As for daily moisturizing, it depends on what style they are wearing. The less of a protective style such as free two strand twists, then I'll moisturize daily, but if it's in an African threaded style where all the hair and ends are tucked away then I really don't use anything until I take the style down, after a week.)

  • your uncle reminds me of my mum..... "just eat" lol

  • @myrrhtree Ha! Yep, it's all about fattening us up :).

  • I plan to use this next time i wash my girls' hair. Is the shea butter mix something that can be purchased or is it homemade?

  • @MrsAshley21 Great! I make the Shea butter mix myself. It's really simple. I'm still editing a step by step vid on how I make it. Hopefully I'll have it up soon.

  • You are hilarious!!! Great Vid...Subbing now!

  • @buttababez1987 Ha ha! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the vid. :)

  • hahaha im facing it now...with my choice of breastfeeding and everyone in the fam that have used the powdermilk.... DARN!!! always taking it to the extreme but we love them anyway

  • @ManiSimone I know! You've gotta love family! lol. Thanks for watching! :)

  • I need help! I was just wondering do you put beads in your daughter's hair? I have been putting beads in my 2 year olds hair for a while but the other day her hair caught on something and pulled her hair out! It pulled a whole braid out! Do you think I should stop using the beads? This is the only thing she will keep in her hair, she pulls everything else out!

  • @NaturalNoni Ouch! Sorry to hear that! I hope she was okay. Yes, I started to put beads in their hair at 3 yrs old. The things I did that may help: I only used 2 or 3 little beads per braid, that were only secured tightly enough to keep them on the braid, but any force and they would just slide off. Also I only put beads on at the ends of ponytails, so their hair is tied back and less likely to catch on anything. It also makes it harder for them to play with and tug on. I hope this helped!

  • LOL @ your uncle! LOL!!!! Great information though. I love your videos

  • @superslyfoxx1 Ha! Yep he's a character. :) Thank you and thanks for watching!

  • How old were your daughters when you started to DC their hair? My daughter is 2 1/2 yrs old, is she too young for a DC. Thanks for posting your videos they are really helping me out with her hair.

  • @chi4maya2 I know you didn't ask me but I used to DC my DD at that age. It's hard because they pull the cap off and don't stay still. it gets easier when they are about 3-1/2. GL

  • @Myimani That's ok I need all the help I can get :-) thanks for your reply.

  • @chi4maya2 Hi! Like Myimani, I didn't start DC with a heat cap until my youngest was about 4. When they were about your daughters age, I would dampen clean hair, with a spray bottle and water and rub in some coconut oil (or sometimes Shea butter or olive oil) and put on a soft shower cap on and let them run around with that on for a while or sometimes I'd do it at night and have them sleep in it. You may want to try that. Thank you so much for watching xx

  • @GirlsLoveYourCurls Ok I will give that a try. Thanks so much for your reply.

  • Would the Cantu Shea Butter leave in be a good alternative for the Shea butter mix?

  • @daisyf2hy Hi! You know I've never used Cantu Shea Butter, so I couldn't tell you for certain. When I deep condition/moisturize I like to use products that are as natural as possible, because I know they ingredients are going to penetrate the hair strands. When I've run out of Shea butter I have used olive oil and coconut oil too. Hope this helps.

  • Your videos make my day!! Thank you for sharing! I am so excited for my baby's hair to grow some more...

  • @mekialovedat Ahh, Thank you so much! x

  • i'll be looking forward to your video. I used to love cocnut oil. it was plentiful in dallas texas. I have a hard time finding it in the DMV close to where I live. Indian stores that I know of are atleast a good hour away and I don't order online unless It's like JBCO or something. But anyways, can't wait to see your mix.

  • @Myimani Yes, I would play around with the amounts. Sometimes it takes a little trial and error before you get the right combo for your hair. Try blending the shea butter with some light olive oil, if you can't get hold of coconut oil. I've done that too and it worked really well. :) x

  • @Myimani They have it fairly priced on Amazon. Also try GNC or other vitamin stores. I'm in the DMV too.

  • @Myimani Vitamin Shoppe & Wal-mart (in the vitamins section in the pharmacy) are some of the places in the DMV where I've bought organic unrefined extra virgin coconut oil. They have the refined coconut oil at Giant (in their organic/gourmet sections)

I'm sure you can also find it at Trader Joe's, Whole foods as well.

  • oki tried it last night when I steamed. i used way to much shea butter and actually steamed then braided my hair in loose plaits and rinsed them. Then I took them all out and put some leave in;in and plaited again. i still have too much shea in my hair but I love it! For the most part my hair is soft, but the sheen was amazing and my definition. I think I won't use this as a DC, but I think I may just use is as a leave in that I steam in or something. Just have to tweak it is all.

  • your hair looks amazing.

  • @MsLuLa94 Ahh thank you! :)

  • I REALLY DO LEARN ALOT FROM YOUR VIDS

I ALSO LUV YOUR FLASHBACKS :)

WOULD YOU MIND SHOWING HOW TO MAKE YOUR SHEA BUTTER MIX

    TAKE CARE GOD BLESS

    OPPS I ALMOST FORGOT CONGRATULATIONS

  • @yattamook Thank you so much! That's so good to hear. No problem, I am working on getting a vid out on what I put in my shea butter mix. Thanks for watching! :) x

  • @wentia1 Thank you so much! I really do appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! Have a great day! :)

  • loving it !!!!

  • @sweetlilangel22 Thanks! :) x

  • ok I will let you know how I like it. I chickened out last night because of some stuff I read about shea leaving hair waxy or possibly being too thick to DC with. But my hair is feeling icky and dry so I am going to wash and DC again today and this time use my shea butter mix and see what happens.

  • @Myimani lol. You know some hair types do not do well with Shea butter, so I understand. You'll never know until you try! My shea butter mix is probably about 30-40% coconut oil, so it's not as heavy as shea butter by itself. You might want to try that. If it doesn't work, you should keep trying with lighter oils. Coconut oil on its own is a good one, because it also penetrates the hair really well. I'm going to do a vid on how I make my shea mix really soon. x

  • Your hair looks so pretty! I sometimes do twistouts in my girls' hair to get it to look like that but yours just has a pretty finished look to it.

  • @mbjlhj Thank you so much! I did about 15 large twists, left them in overnight, untwisted and then separated each twist out two or three sections. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Your hair is beautiful and I love what you've done with your daughter! Can I share your video on Cherish My Daughter?

  • @CherishMyDaughter Thank you! Yes of course, no problem! :)

  • LOL!!!! My Hatian family think the same way--the older generation! Don't like skinny!

  • @CherishMyDaughter Ha ha! I know right? My mum was always trying to 'fatten' me up! :)

  • I love your vids, what do you use in your shea butter mixture?

  • @tiffanyjay1211 Thank you! A lot of people have asked me this. I have a couple of versions that I use, depending on the application. The main ingredients for both are Shea butter and coconut oil. I have another protective style coming up, but my next vid will probably be a demo on how to make it.

  • @GirlsLoveYourCurls okay thank you so much, and can you tell us how you decide which version you use for which application. Or how you decide what to use for each application. I have two daughters one with 4b and the other is 3c, mine is 4c (Ithink). So your vids are very useful......Thanks again!!!! I am glad I found your channel

  • Your uncle sounds like my mother and grandmother. :)

  • @cyinergist So you know exactly where I'm coming from! Ha! Thanks for watching. :)

  • I love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing.

  • @n2life2 Thank you! You are so welcome :). x
