  • Oh my goodness! The shoes Daisy was wearing when she got hit are absolutely ADORABLE

  • It's these kinds of thoughts that drive perfectly healthy individuals to utter insanity and complete psychological breakdowns.

  • @crazy4sian well, this or enlightenment - it's your choice... (no it's not - sice there is obviously no free will :-P )

  • favorite scene sequence of all time.

  • THE HINDSIGHT EFFECT

  • When I first saw this part, it made me cry so hard.

  • @BunnyMan456 double post fucking gay.

  • ive been thinking

  • This has to be one of the dumbest sequences I've ever seen. You know why Daisy got hit by a taxi? Because she was twirling around in the middle of the road. Frankly, she's got no one to blame for that but herself.

  • I love this movie, particularly this scene. I'm doing this monologue for an assignment in my drama class.

  • It's incredible that our whole life is a non-stop series of coincidences... All this butterfly effect is just amazing... You can just go crazy if you think about how your life could change irreparably by something you think is trivial... And all these small tiny little things we never give much though to also change the destiny of humanity itself and not just our lives...

  • chaotic dynamical systems ..

  • IF Daisy had taken the time to look at both sides of the street before frolicking about, none of those little things would have mattered. All of these theories and combinations of events are nonsense, its ultimately her fault.

  • @zvonimir89 that is true, but not the point :D B-)

  • Favorite part of the movie

  • Fate.

  • chaos theory! it's not one thing, it a combination (e.g the package wouldn't have been wrapped even if she was on time to the taxi). the most proximate event that couldve changed was waiting for the friend with the shoelace (other than 'spinning' instead of walking across the street as others has mentioned), everything else is infinitesimal.

  • Daisy and her right leg both disliked this video

  • only if people didn't use iphones/BB while driving

  • Un modèle de mise en scène à présenter dans les écoles de cinéma !

  • moral of the story: dont cross the street while dancing.

  • best movie ever made ....epic

  • Masterpiece indeed.

  • Brilliant filmmaking

  • one of the greatest scenes of Film Editing

  • Eric Roth never ceases to amaze me with his writing.

  • it's an interesting scene, a bit unnecessary.

but i love how the indoors have more warm colors and outside is very blue.

daisy, wearing a yellow jacket, comes out from warm colored inside and is the only one looking bright, but gets hit in the blue outside world. the writing in this movie is pretty good, but the cinematic visuals are brilliant.

  • I love this

  • How in the world could Benjamin himself have know about all those events???

  • @HoopsAndDinoMan He was a visionary.

  • @sevDiablo Ever heard of omnipresent narrators?

  • @HoopsAndDinoMan I always figured it was something he gave a great deal of thought over the years. Maybe he knew about the broken shoe lace thing and that got him wondering about all the other stuff.

  • @HoopsAndDinoMan well they had to have a narrator somehow

  • @HoopsAndDinoMan He had been stalking her for weeks apparently.

  • @HoopsAndDinoMan i myself think quite often about how small details determin the course of our destiny exactly the way he does in this movie. he is listing the possible events that may have been involved

  • becouse he stays in Paris a few days ahehehehe

  • @HoopsAndDinoMan benjamin is dead when is does the narrative. so he must be some divine being with supernatural powers who could see everything. hehe

  • at first i was like wtf? then when i saw the whole scene i was like FTW!!

  • This is so amazing.

    Best quote from the film.

  • this is just brilliant

  • this scene makes you go...woah!!

  • If I hadn't seen this video I would have made my homework on time

  • Chaos Theory explanantion at its best! We are all connected...

  • Isn't it interesting that Benjamin seems to have transcendent knowledge as he seems to know all about the incidents that lead to Daisy's accident---OR---he also being used as the narrative.

  • Philosophical way beyond most hollywood movies.

  • wow did she have to be spinning in the street i mean she should know better....but obviously its also the taxi drivers fault because if he was paying attention like he was supposed to, that wouldnt have happened!!!!! or if that stupid friends shoe or whatever hadnt broken off!!! GRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but everything happens for a reason

but now her career is over :(((( WHYYYY SHOE WHYYY???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow did she have to be spinning in the street i mean she should know better....but obviously its also the taxi drivers fault because if he was paying attention like he was supposed to, that wouldnt have happened!!!!! or if that stupid friends shoe or whatever had broken off!!! • @flowerpower6111 geez, its a movie

  • @THCGamers ur point

  • ...and if only Daisy's friend hadn't danced together with her...

  • 1 person doesnt like butterflies, or their effects. cuz this is the best scene ever

  • But life being what it is..a series of intersecting lives and incidents out of anyone's control"

I think this is the best part of the movie! So powerful and intense!!

  • the moral of the story? Don't forget to set your damn alarm!!!! Lives are at at stake!!

  • this scene alone is equal to the whole movie. its epic

  • Scares me the world to work in sucha mean way dude, damn.

  • I wonder if all those events happened for a reason and if everything in the world relies on order or if it's just a matter of chance?

  • @kaloo123 No offense, but...It's JUST A MATTER OF CHANCE.

  • @kaloo123 if you think about it, doesn't really matter if it happens for a reason or by chance. what matter is: it happens.

  • El plan es perfecto.........

  • Check out my short film which was largely based on this scene : /watch?v=Gs6aNkovRLk

  • best part ! SOOOO true !

  • not only does benjamin age backwards, he's also omniscient. :D

  • I like what Daisy is wearing :)

  • The butterfly effect. Gotta love it.

  • this is the most epic scene from the movie

  • none of that really mattered. they basically said it was everyone else's fault that daisy was hit. it was actually her fault because she didn't look both ways when spinning across the street.

  • @MrE11even haha, i don't think that they're talking about whose fault it was, they're talking about fate and chain reactions.

but yes, you're right that daisy didn't look both ways. i'd never thought about that hahaha

  • genius scene. love it.

  • loved that scene

  • This Scene is Priceless!

  • min 1:13 - 1:20 Sexist sh%$ I ever saw... Blanchette just made into my top 5 babes of all time.

  • Seriously, this whole idea of one little TINNYYYYYY thing happening differently and changing everything has been on my mind nonstop since i saw this. Like imagine if you see a mosquito. If you kill that mosquito, it won't have a chance to lay eggs. One of the spawn of those eggs could've been the bug to infect a future evil dictator with malaria, killing him at a young age.

  • @CoolJohnDog this is called butterfly effect, I also enjoyed the scene. I suggest you see the movie if you are so interested in this "phenomenon", cheers.

  • very interesting video, I think one of the best scenes in the movie. I feel bad for daisy, though, she was just happily dancing across the street and had no idea it would be the last time she could do so.

  • Benjamin seems to know the cause and effect details behind Daisy's accident. Surely this is not part of his actual character since he's not god. OR---is Benjamin being used as a substitute to read the script writer's narrative for this one scene? If so that is quite brilliant.

  • I love this scene!!!!

  • my FAV scene from the move , definitely .

  • ohh shit! MINDFUCK

  • i liked the movie and i love this scene its WOW and brad pitt is more than amazing

  • my favorite scene in this movie <3

  • God I wish this film was as amazing as this scene. That's my biggest problem with Benjamin Button. There are so many scenes in this movie that are pure art and are masterpieces. But they don't add up to a masterpiece. Too bad, but love this scene.

  • @videosarefun69 I disagree... I found that it all added up perfectly! I think most of the scenes were art. And the ones that weren't were either entertaining or necessary to the story.

  • @xXxEchosChildxXx I pretty much agree with you except i think it is a stretch to say that all the scenes were necessary. I think the film could have been at least 20 minutes shorter. but everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and it was a pretty good movie.

  • This movie was none other than a master piece. Its a once in a decade kind of movie.

  • A brilliant scene, so artistically rendered, outlining how the intercepting randomness of events can profoundly determine our lives.

  • ya but at the same time i mean, we have control over ourselves and our minds. its not all pure luck. if that girl had developed any sense over the years, she wouldnt dance out onto a busy street from behind a truck, thats the problem. dont blame it on some random events. she had no sense of awareness and was wreckless. altho in some cases, like a drunk driver, i can see. but this is her fault, not randomness's fault

  • i was like wow boring he's sittin in a hospital waiting. then crazy ass, what if, moment by moment, time travel, butterfly effect, insanity! it was an amazing build-up. surprised she didnt die with that intense detailed scene. especially with all the deaths in this movie

  • This scene gives me chills every time I watch it. I love this movie, and this is the part I remember most. Thanks for uploading!

  • Fascinating film. Very much enjoyed it.

    Rgds Heike

  • chaos theory FTW

  • @jeromeisfresh whats chaos thoery?

  • I saw this movie a week after breaking my leg during a ballet dance rehearsal. It broke my heart and touched me deeply. The film's message is beautiful. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • Wait how the fuck did he know all thiss crap?

  • wake up

  • seriously how does he know every single little detail that leads up to her actident

  • he could have said a milion more stories.the thing is that everything we do has impact to at least someone.that we are connected in a way, see?that's we you don't have to care for the details of the story, cause they are millions. PEACE

  • ...because this is a movie, not real life.

  • thats beside the point it was just illustrating the fragility of existence

    while your at it

how the fuck does someone age backwards tool

  • well they made the story seem real besides this part. this is the only part that actually stood out to ME!! so just chill

  • Such an incredible film. Brought many a tear to my eye in so many different parts

  • I think he is just wondering how "fate" can do wonders that are beyond our conscious, until we are aware of it...it makes us feel weak

  • that's the best scene =D

  • 3 minutes or so were enough to define life's secret for mr. Fincher :-)

  • and if daisy didn't cross the street spinning

  • lol!

  • @marisk8 yea... or maybe like... LOOKED

  • this is my all time favourite scene from all the movies ive seen

  • I have to say that...I think his theory is wrong.

I saw the movie time machine and there was this guy traveling through time saving his girlfriend. but he never made it. because fate made his girlfriend die...not "if it happened like this"

  • also if Daisy would of looked both ways before crossing...

  • everything has already happened. there are no accidents. what if's are a waste of time. questioning why things have had to happen will only make you sad. make the most out of what you got

  • I dont think he was trying to say that there are accidents. He's saying that everyone's lives are all connected. All these people, their own lives, the way things happened for them that day, affects everyone. Everything you do has a repurcussion for everyone else even when you don't realize it.

  • this scene made up the entire movie...thanks for uploading

  • and if only one thing had happened differently..,

    i would still have her..,

  • how does he know all the stuffg?

  • This scene is so great! It reminds me of Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain. Same light tone... and awesome narration.
