  • Here's a question: How would I have fitted in during the sixties? I love the Mod culture, the music, and the clobber... but hell I'm not a scooter man... I love fast bikes so I'd have had to own a big Norton or Triumph cafe racer. I'd have looked a bit silly on it in my parker though ;)

  • Still have a genuine old copy of the original hit single, in my cupboard.

  • Love this Mod anthem. It was played in every club back in the day. (nice scooters too ) Thanks for posting

  • Great song !

  • This is the real original version, the Kinks did a good one as well.

  • How could anyone ever decipher what he's saying

  • @ThisisTedWells Well, they have the lyrics to the original version, you can find those online. As to what he's actually saying, who knows. The FBI couldn't figure it out, and they spend two years trying. (true story btw)

  • Lovely :))

  • Well, since this song came out in 1963 and The Who's debut album was a year later, I rather doubt he was "trying to do his best Keith Moon." He would have probably have said "Keith who? Never heard of him". This recording was great back then and still is.

  • A Musical Masterpiece!

  • i bet this was a fun song in the 1960's

  • Not true. Mods, originally were modern jazz fans who later embraced R n B and soul. Some of the best mod classics however, were one-offs like this.

Bands like the Who and the Small Faces came at the end of the mod scene and had little influence on the movement.

The first home-grown mod band were probably the Kinks because they came from a R n B background but developed their own hard rocking style which had no precedent and which mods liked. Don't forget, mods were into early rock music wh

  • CRACKED.

only take they made of this song, singer didn't know half the words, they played it in the wrong time signature, and it is amazing.

  • @redman8903 They didn't play it in the wrong time signature, it's in 4/4 like it should be. They just left out the guitar on the fourth beat.

  • 0:56 "Fuck!"

  • Aaah the memories, spotted Enfield on a sign, I come from Southgate, we had a lot of Lambrettas, Vespas and Bubblecars in late 50's early 60's. Great times. But the ones with the big windscreen were deadly in a strong wind )).

  • @ambertjeblue A classic Mod anthem. My mum and dad were mods from Whetstone/Finchley early 60's. Me still carrying the scooter torch, a scooterist for life. There is a club from Enfield called the Enfield Rifles which is still going strong. Scooters, a way of life.

  • @ScooterPAK actually, mods didn't really listen to the kingsmen, they listened to the who and blues influenced bands

  • i came for the song, stayed for the.... pictures of scooters?

  • @iberfiber thanks check out other video's of scooters on the account holder name & youtube account scootersgalore1 for more...

  • We are the mods, We are the mods, We are, We are, We are the mods
