  • That looks like fun

  • wasnt kazmaier out of him prime by a few years at this time

  • its more like a rack pull then a deadlift, still amazing 2 move tht much weight tho

  • This is why they don't let you hitch in powerlifting.

  • bull shit kaz was actually deadlifting that weight jon paul was frekin squating/hitching teh weight up bs

  • @00000asc Hitching is allowed in strongman-deadlifting... This isn't powerlifting

  • 101 likes and 0 dislikes

  • Oh my god, I think he could go farther...

  • THERE IS NO REASON TO BE ALIVE IF YOU CAN'T DO DEADLIFT!

  • MACHINE

  • You know Pall did, he did not only take the power of is own body and crushed the lifts he took the power of the joy of being alive and CRUSHED THE WEIGHTS!

  • 523kg :D that is A LOT

  • the only reason jon pall dont have 5 wsm wins like mariuz is in 1987 ther was no wsm contest. but he won the pure strength 87 contest.

he crushed kaz and capes. he won 8 of 10 events

  • Brilliant , I was gutted when I heard Jon Pall had died - Strongman was never the same without him.

  • all strongmen can use their legs to pull the bar up as mutch as they want its kazs fail that he dont use it

  • KAz was really lifting it, Jon was using a little trick with this legs.

  • i like katz but i think they gave him the 1047.

  • There is no reason to be alive if you cant do deadlift!

  • does any body have the rest of this event or know where i can get it?

  • What does Jon Pall say at 5:49? Friggen commentator is talking over him.

  • Does anyone know what are the shoes Kaz is wearing 0:46

  • Spotbilt Turf Shoes,

  • sig out smarted kaz he was using his legs watch the kilts, kaz is doing a real deadlift and the bar slid up his kilt, it never moves JPS's

  • what did he say at 4:35

  • He said "I am So Strong"

  • thanks

  • in which jear was this event???? thanks for answer

  • 1987.

  • Never the less... the two of the greatest strongman ever!!!!

  • Both were great strongman . Somedays Kaz was the strongest other days Jon Pall was the strongest.

  • "There is no reason to be alive if you can't do the deadlift."

  • "Don't be alive, if you can't do deadlift!"

  • there is no reason to be alive if you cant do deadlift

  • i can see that both kazmaier and john pall got both diffrent lifting tecnique.

They are both gr8 but i think that John Pall Sigmarsson is the greatest strongman in the history.

  • jon pall was not as strong as kaz

  • Bill Kazmaier didn't lock out for the last 3 attempts. Jon Pall definetely was the strongest, he locked out on all attempts.

  • do you notice that jon pall is really squatting the weight

  • Who the hell dared give me a thumb down don't you know products get better by the year the protein and anything else that these guys took then was a bit worst than today's

  • He would have been even stronger today since products are always getting better

  • IMO Lifting just above the knee will not necessarily mean much greater weights than just below, the latter being a typical WSM event. You can get more leverage in the legs with a deadlift just below the knee.

  • Sigmarsson was stronger in 1987 than 1983. He was only 23 in 1983 and registered some 1133lbs in the deadlift that year. I think on the form shown above he may have got 1180+ in an 83' equivalent event.

  • it's strongman. not Powerlifting my friend. and either way this would be a challenge for even my good pal Andy Bolton. so don't hate. appreciate! lol! peace' except on the Iron!!! (=

  • lol he definately would struggle with this b/c he only lifted 1000 geared. but i meant that the rom in this comp is pretty low. at least in the cheese cases deadlift comp. there was some rom, and i think it was just as much weights. lolls...

  • look my point is back then that was one of the greatest weights lifted in the world! so don't hate. show respect to the men who were brave enough to take on a challenge that made men 5 times stronger than you or me cringe. okay. my point is don't hate. respect the Iron warriors who came before you. I know I do.

  • tom mcgees a much better rackpulls man.

  • Jon Pall could in theory have gone past 1200lbs on this, even 1225-1250 with a struggle. You could tell 1153lbs was not his limit. Kaz was not in peak form this year but even if he had been I still think Jon Pall would just edge this event. He also log lifted 164kg earlier in the contest, although had Kaz been in peak condition would likely have attained 170kg as Kaz would, on equal form, be favourite over Jon Pall in the log lift.

  • Does anyone know where i can watch the rest of this copmetition??

  • this was never a deadlift recored of anything cos in the 1983 WSM Tom Mcgee, lifts 1180lbs in a much nere to a real deadlift than this what is just a stand up,

  • Is it harder to front squat or are the regular squats with the bar on your back harder?

  • You will get different answers depending on the opinions of different lifters on this question. Overall i would judge the front squat to be harder.

  • no no. its " there is no reason to be alive if you cant do deadlifts" thats wicked funny!!

  • its "cant do deadlift"

  • "THEY RE IS NO POINT FOR YOU TO BEING ALIVE IF YOU CAN' DO THE DEADLIFT"

    he say at 2.43!

  • what exactly does he say at 2:43?

    can anyone translate the subtitles?

    thanks

  • Does Jon Pall still hold the deadlift record or was it not recognized because it was not the conventional way of doing it?

  • The reason why it was never counted as the deadlift record is because the bar is really high off the ground, there are some powerlifters would would be able to get lockout without even moving that bar.

It is still an amazing feat of strength though.

  • R.I.P Jon Pall, best strongman EVER, period

  • If he was still alive i fucking swear he wolud have whooped Mariusz Pudzianowski ass i'm telling you!!!

  • Sigmarsson is 10 yimes better than Pudzianowski

"theres no point in being alive if you cant do deadlift"

  • i dnt agree with da ass whoopin

the best competition ever would be mariusz, jon pall, kazmier, magnusson and savickas all in thier prime goin head to head

    strongest men of all time

  • @LiamBirchall

actually mariusz in one of the few, who will give thise guys a propper fight till the end, and he has won it more times, so dont be so sure about it,

  • @LiamBirchall I agree. I think they both would. They are definitely stronger from the stationary position. Mariusz has speed, but in pure strength, not close

  • @LiamBirchall agree with you there srongly. if he wouldn't have died he would have won the title maaany many times

  • Sigmarsson is the best, and probably would have kept raising the bar for events if he didn't pass.

  • subtract 200lbs and that's about the weight of your legitimate deadlift..still impressive!

  • They are moving 1100+ pounds.... who cares how they did it?

  • Daaamn, give Bill credit he was going at it blow for blow.

  • The two greatest champions of all time

  • bill was a totaly diferent man at that time

  • It was not only that JPS rather easally won. Before they held this contest the officials got together with the three of them to decide wich events should be used in the cometition.

JPS told them that he did not care, he was going to win anyway. So it was Kaz and Capes who choose the events.

    Enough said.

  • RIP JOn Paul bless

  • LEGEND!

  • both are really strong man aquivalent even if the bar is to high great weight to lift 523 kilos

  • here shithead until u can do that lift shut ur fucken mouth and stop tryin to da value other peoples achievements

  • Jon Pall What a Great Man, Best Champion The world Has Ever Seen...

  • it's clearly not a deadlift world record the bar is miles too high. useless commentator.

  • its the partial deadlift world record

  • "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE"

  • pall looks stronger here, but Kazmaiers last lift seems ok to me.

  • true legend

  • and kaz was only half ore less of the man he was back at the years dont forget that. But he did win against jon pall

  • They screwed Kaz on that 1077lbs he had it in the air and locked for almost 5 seconds, he even asked the ref "What do you want mate?" he actually lifted the 1077 better than Jon Pall did

  • You can see clearly that Kazmaier didn't lock out his knees. Jón Páll was the winner. Don't forget that Kazmaier never won against Jón Páll, that says alot about Jón Páll's strenght!

  • Is this golf or a strongman competition, this announcer is horrendous.

  • I will agree with you on that one, I will also say though that Kazmier is the best strongman announcer ever, he really gets into the competition and makes it that much more interesting to watch, Why can't IFSA have him instead of boring Jamie Reeves?

  • I agree, Kazmier keeps me focused onto the competition for the duration.

  • Very good point, strongman is all about enthusiasm and passion, I have no idea how anyone can comment such a sport and not seem enthusiastic.

  • haha gal fyr

  • what a man

  • hehe =)

  • "There is no need to be alive if you can't do deadlift!"

  • Ironic choice of words by Jon Pall God Bless Him
