Oh dear. I may just go and return my laptop now. This has completely ruined my respect for Acer because switching laptops on whilst on top of other laptops is my favourite hobby also I'm considering it for a career move. But this has just ruined everything..
i had tried 2 of this kind,,,, 4810,, i really like it but to tell you the truth , it freezes now and then , specially when im using the dvd... i can't finish a movie. you have to turn it off completely and start it all over again., and again..........
we got 15 Acer 4810t and will i was installing this problem started. Btw, the computers do not need too touch... Magnetic trigger in the top of the screen i guess. :/
Interesting video.... impractical, but still interesting. I have used my Timeline 3810T almost everywhere, and I'm sure there are times when I'm at a coffee shop with metal tables. And this "defect" did not happen. Of course I'm yet to try the timeline stacked scenario, hehe.
Give this video to ACER, maybe they can address the problem. For now, at least on my end, it's not a concern at all.
I was going to buy this, but now that i know that this happens.... im still going to buy it--- what is the matter with you?! WHY do you even have 2 notebooks.... you have way too much free time dude,
possibly a magnetic switch that turns off the LCD display, the magnet of the bottom notebook is triggering the top notebook's sensor, so the top notebook thinks its own LCD is "closed" so it turns off the display?
This is a deal breaker for me because I wanted to run one Timeline on top of another to increase productivity. Have you tried placing it on an aluminum baseball bat, for those times that you need to step up to the plate and check emails simultaneously.
lol the megnet in the lid of the bottom timeline is triggering the megnetic lid switch in the top one
i freaked out my friend by putting a fridge megnet underneath his timeline
:P

Its the lid switch, its a magnetic lid switch, the bottom case activates the top one

computers have magnets in them and when u put magnet near it, either the display color changes or goes dark and that's the reason why its going dark.

When does this become a relevant practical problem for users who do not own two Acers which are stacked on top of one another? Big whoop. Neat trick.
