  • lol. all of 3 dislikes, 3 idiots.

  • I think it's the arrangement/performance. Sean's version has a little more drive, a more prominent beat, probably due to the accompaniment. Luke has a more passionate, warmer approach which comes off a little calmer. My theory, both are great, I think Luke is the superior vocalist though.

  • u can always bank on luke to belt out a master peice.

  • I wished i was half te man Luke was when he sang this :) (and i'm dutch so plz 4give me for my language if you don't know what the H i'm talking about ;)

  • Bleedin' deadly

  • Bleedin' deadly

  • this hits the hart

  • There is lovely slow version of this song sung by Jim Reid with the the Foundry Bar Band. Can any kind poster oblige?.I haven't heard it for years and would love to hear it again.

  • Fond memories of the community I grew up in England was bought up on tunes like this. Memories Of my good friend Michael

  • My Dad raised me on Irish songs - Thanx for posting these

  • Man, but this song has been on the lips for weeks. Great schtuff.

  • Bless you Ireland!!! Greetings from your cousins across the water; Scotland :)

    Alba agus Eire gu brath!!!

  • On this wounderful sunny spring morning only Luke can lift my heart into the clear morning air, dancing, swirling with happy warm joy. Rest In Peace, with the god that wanted you back to soon.

  • IMO We should respect the wonderful Luke Kelly's memory as the great singer he was...and respect Sean as the great singer he still is. Luke is my favourite singer of all time but I can still enjoy others too.

  • youre right, Ive just listened to the other, it is very good too, cheers. This is still my fave but the whole group were talented.

  • @opaldove I agree with that.

that said, my 5 year old boy refuses to listen to any version BUT Lukes. I played the Corries "Nancy Whisky" and he wasnt having it at all. lol

    Kids are funny :-)

  • A great song by legends

  • I agree!Sweet!

  • thank you ,Kelly, for all these great videos! I think I've found a goldmine.

My soon-to-be- hubby is a folk singer and once shared a stage and a mike with Luke, his hero. He still talks of it!

  • Absolute legends

  • sweet

  • kelly you wont be happy here but i honestly think sean cannon beats lukey here- just!

  • lol Nae Chance!

  • @kellyoneill I agree with kelly, once Luke sings a song it becomes his. you just can't get any better

  • @kojak543 Great minds think alike :)

  • @kellyoneill Personally, i like both versions-Sean puts great inflection into it when he's singing...but luke's just luke :)

  • @TheLordOden Both renditions are beaut, tho' while Sean performs and executes a song, Luke emits the greater passion but simply singing to his heart's delight and his vocal sound is more resonant and not at all stilted. Both have the Irish lilt which is lovely, yet Luke's sound is warmer, perhaps for its lower tone.

  • @kellyoneill LOL Nae Cahnce @ all!!

  • It`s my opinion too

  • I believe it to but I think they are both are great anyhow

  • hey its nice to see someone new on here!

Some of these songs with less views are great!

I dont know Sean Cannon but he cant be better than Luke, I mean who IS???

  • Ilive in DONEGAL but I well remember Sean as a non drinking folk singer from my younger days in Manchester ,where he was a great crowd puller on the folk circuit -and what a nice unassuming guy he was ! Cheers !

  • he sounds nice...and he may be the first non-drinking folk singer I have heard of lol :-) cheers back at you

  • @sammcc102 and i have 2 tell u that the reunion version that Sean showed was pretty awesome :)

  • Lovely to see that picture of the Dubs when they were younger. Excellent singing there by Luke as usual :o))
