Being a huge fan of Michael, I can tell you now he is 100% not drunk. To me he didn't seem much different to when he normally performs, just very nervous (he gets nervous performing on live tv) which is understandable, he isn't as confident as everyone thinks and if simon did give him a look it would of knocked him back... But tbh he's just trying to be himself. Yeah it wasn't his best performance but it was still brilliant! He's amazing just watch other videos of him, you'll see...

People keep knocking him in the comments, but Michael is one of the best vocalists of our generation and easily the best showman of any performer these days. TPTB gave him "a couple hours" (Michael's own words) to fill-in for TONY BENNETT, which is impossible, and sing a song live for the first time in front of Simon Cowell and 35 million people...?! Was it Michael's BEST performance, absolutely not, but it was certainly respectable given the circumstances. Well done, Michael! Oh and as for the lisp, he uses it in concert in jest all the time, and I am going to chalk it up to nerves in this performance.

see this is the difference between his voice from when he uses autotune to when he doesnt, here he isnt and he sounds good but not great when he uses it he sounds pitch perfect. his a good singer live still and his still young he's voice will only get better

Reverb and other program affects are what make singers pitches perfect ... there's not a singer in the world that uses a non-reverbed song on their album that's the producers job to make there pitches perfect autotune is t-pain's thing not all singers do it especially not a jazz/pop singer ... moron

For me, when I hear people performing live they are usually painfully off-key from the band. While that was not perfect, I don't think that there is one time that I have seen Michael performing live that he is not pretty much on-key the entire time. Just my opinion.

He is having the time of his life and he is so very grateful for the life he is living. I lived with a drunk for 10 years. Michael is not drunk in this video. Michael is happy and doing what he loves.

To sing this song well, a singer should display a devil-may care attitude and in doing so perhaps even give the impression that he has had a drink or two. I especially liked the way he joked around and said "steal your parents' credit cards" and "am I wasting my votes on Antonella Barba." Fits right in with the cute, but irresponsible image he wants to project with this song.
I hated all the drama accosiated with this preformance, saying he was drunk and all. Hello, he said so in an interview later that he was nervous. He litterally found out he was going to be on like hours before he took the stage. It was exciteng but nerve wrecking. I think he did AMAZING! And you gotta understand too, he likes to joke around on stage. That's my fave part, all his goofy antics! :)

@Giggle3000 Agreed. I think part of it is the subject of the song. To sing this song well, a singer should display a devil-may care attitude and in doing so perhaps even give the impression that he has had a drink or two. I especially liked the way he joked around and said "steal your parents' credit cards" and "am I wasting my votes on Antonella Barba." Fits right in with the cute, but irresponsible image he wants to project with this song.

I hated all the drama accosiated with this preformance, saying he was drunk and all. Hello, he said so in an interview later that he was nervous. He litterally found out he was going to be on like hours before he took the stage. It was exciteng but nerve wrecking. I think he did AMAZING! And you gotta understand too, he likes to joke around on stage. That's my fave part, all his goofy antics! :)

I saw him talking about this performance in an interview...he said that he didn't think this was his best performance.
He also said that Simon Cowell kept giving him wierd looks when he was singing which made him even more nervous
Also he only had a couple hours to prepare after they found our that Bennet was sick

I have to say, I am a fifteen year old teenage girl who is surrounded by crude and disgusting sounds that people try to call "music". However, Buble has truly inspired me. I am in love with both him and his music, and I hope that everyone can open their hearts to not only Michael, but also this wonderful genre he represents.
