  • how do you do so many?

  • WEAK

  • good work linda. You'll get there. It's taken me since January to get 100 standard push ups in under 4 min without d-dog...keep plugging away.

  • @echokitten73 thanks Echo...it's getting closer, i can feel it (haha...I will keep it positive)

  • Another suggestion. Why not do your 100 challenge with your training partner - maybe she would help you get there! Although you do sound stronger than she is. Maybe a little competition?!

YOU WILL GET THERE! KEEP THE FAITH!

  • @rolandsc I need to go to crossfit gym to get stronger girls to compete with me haha. I am actually stronger than my partner in upper body (push ups, boxing, etc) but she's a runner so she's stronger in lower body. So she can't help me on this dare.

It's OK, October is the deadline ...I will feel burned out by then I am sure. I just want to move on doing something else :).

  • That is great progress and I can hardly believe how hard you are training! Awesome.

I have complete confidence in you reaching 100.

I was discussing this challenge with a gym trainer the other day are we concluded that the there is a aweful lot of mind over matter involved here. I think that is what really made the difference for the last 20 for me.

I think doing it in blocks of 5 or 10 really helps. Even if you need to pause within the blocks, just hold in plank rather than down dog.

  • @rolandsc Roland, are you suggesting that we do it 10*10? Like 10, 3 sec plank, 10, 3 sec plank?

I thought I should do it fast to get over the pain really fast :)...what do you think is best?

  • @CuppaWorkout My last time (also my second time!) I did 40^20^10^10^10^10. So I only rested in down dog 5 times. In between whiles, the set was often broken with pauses/rests but I stayed in plank. So I might do 2 take a couple of secs rest in plank, then 3, pause etc Having the longer sets between down dogs helped break it up better from a mental perspective.

Just a suggestion which helped me. It may not work for you.

88 is so close. Dig in. Get there for us!

  • @rolandsc yeah but I want to do 100 without downward dog...plank yes, downward do no...so still pretty far but I have 4 weeks :)

  • @CuppaWorkout Well I'll be cheering you on all the way! Keep an eye out for me standing in the corner with the pom poms! LOL

  • @rolandsc cool...will you do that really? If I hit 100 with no downward dog, you will send me a pic of you with your pom poms? I will train harder ha! Thanks Roland!

  • @CuppaWorkout - Well if Roland doesn't send you a pompom shot, *I* will ... downward dog or not! I'm not kidding - I'll go buy some pompoms and take a pic of me looking like a total fool. You've worked hard enough you deserve a laugh. :)

  • @nasaguy yay!!! thanks for the motivation...I won't laugh but I will take your offer as an extra motivation.

Just did 200 but my webcam didn't capture my last set. I am uploading it right now. Feel good because I did it after donating blood and tetanus shot so I wasnt at my best and my left arm felt really sore. But I hit 200 (too bad it wasn't on the video :( )

  • @CuppaWorkout I had a sneaky feeling that there was something missing from your motivation! So now we've sorted that out, you'll be there in no time!

The power of the pom pom! LOL

  • P.S. How am I going to catch up with you if you get to train full time, I can barely keep up now ;-) Oh well there goes my male ego again lol. YOU ROCK!

  • I can wait, lets keep focused on the task at hand. Whether you do Mt full time or not, congradulations on the offer/honor. What ever you choose I believe in you.

  • @TeamGo33 thanks...tomorrow I will do day 3, hopefully I can do 200.

  • Too cool! Is that what you meant by Mt climber legs Mt climber arms? With 5 weeks off, you are better than ever. I wouldn't worry about hand movements on a hardwood floor, its not like you gain anything from small adjustments. You Rock!

  • @TeamGo33 no...it's not....I will show you after I reach my 100 goal. High five push ups are good...basically you give pressure to your partner because he or she has to keep up with you. I did well....my partner actually swore at me for doing it too fast today.

Also, we did squat together too so I put my hands on her shoulders and hers on mine then we did squat together. another pressure because if your partner is stronger than you, you have to follow.

  • @TeamGo33 btw, my coach asked me to do MT full time and train for fight. Told him that I might be too soft and have no killer instinct whatsoever but he thinks I have potential. He's good, he used to train a kickboxing champion here in the US...I am flattered that he thinks I have potentials :).
