Plus, you could understand what the fuck they were actually singing and it had a kind of esoteric quality to it. there are two different stories. one goes as the official reason, and the other is what ozzy and all his fans think (which kinda makes more sense to me). tony iommis reason: kicked out due to heavy drug use and bad behavior. the end. reason i tend to believe: iommi was always the egotist of the band, from writing the riffs to which everyone should play their instruments to, all the way to actually owning the name black sabbath and thus owning everyone in the band.

iommi was at the point where he acted like everyone owed him something ( a trait that continues today in rock music). the thing is that it wasnt him, but ozzy who was getting over far more with the fans. if you walked the streets, its ppl praising ozzy, hailing him, and not iommi. thus, ozzy had to leave to passify iommis ego. either way, regardless, iommis ego (though with the talent to back it up) was the rise and fall of black sabbath, make no mistake, and as a guitarist, i look up to him
