  • I love the design of this buggys. Strong and lot of room for driver

  • Awesome choice in song... loved that part of the movie.

  • awesome video!!!

  • what do i have to do if i wanna build a buggy like that?

  • 1. look at many buggies in the internet. Do you want one for cross-country, heavy, 4x4 and slow ? Or do you want a light rear wheel drive thing with great handling ?

    2. buy a bundle of 1 1/2 inch construction pipe

  • 3. search for a donor vehicle: If you want the light, fast 2wd, use a front wheel drive car and use the whole assembly (engine, transmission/transaxle, front subframe) as rear axle for your buggy. (dont forget to lock the steering mechanism) Then pick up another front end at the wreckyard, to use in the front, as a steering front axle.

If you want big tire 4x4 with better offroad capabilities, get a 4x4 vehicle with a big engine and strong axles as donor vehicle.

  • i'd like a light rear wheel drive

  • I cant post links here, but if you co to tractorbynet dot com, and search the forum for volvo buggy, you can find a photo diary of my buggy build.

If you buy a very common model of front wheel drive car, you can strip the pedals with brake cylinder, steering wheel, gear stick and a complete transaxle, for little money.

Then all you'd need is another front end WITHOUT the engine and driveshafts, to use in the front of the buggy.

  • A transaxle unit of an FWD car, placed in the rear of the buggy, is the cheapest route...

Off course you can make one with expensive purpose built transaxles and suspensions, but when you use the suspension of an 1100 kg car, it can take quite some abuse when it just has to carry a 5-600 kg buggy...

  • 4. use your imagination and start building: Measure the dimensions between pedals, steering wheel and gearlever of your donor car, to get the seat position right.

  • I am building one, based on a Volvo 440 1.9 intercooled TD... This engine has 90 hp and the buggy is 500 kg right now... I can tweak to 120 hp by just turn that fuel pump open and adjust the turbo waste gate opening pressure.

The best thing about this TD engine, is that it doesnt need electronic igntion or controls so getting wet doesnt hurt it, and i can use agricultural low tax diesel ;)

  • okay thank you very much!

  • 4. Just get a pre 86 Toyota and tube it out!

  • Get a shit ton of money ready to spend.

  • When it's that built it hardly matters what base you used...lol sweet rigs!

  • sweet mods...git r dunn

  • What are you using for base vehicles when you build those?

  • Both Fords and Chevy's. More Fords than Chevy's tho.

  • crazy ass rides

  • RIGHTO! You are showing your age!

  • Great song ...HEAVY METAL
