Like you Cora, I love Mario Lanza and I love Andrew's version, especially as he sings the version Mario didn't sing. Also agree about the voice, awesome and unique )
When I heard you singing Mamma Mia che vo sape with all that talking in the background, I was really upset. Luckily I read afterwards that the people in the restaurant were family members! I love Mario Lanza, and you DO sound like him!!
I check your site regularly, but you have not posted any new songs lately.
Please do not ever stop singing or harm your voice in any way. God gives out voices like yours maybe only once every century.
@Ivanhoe2 they are not swine. they are participating in an almost century old tradition. have you ever been there? who have you heard sing there? i heard Pavarotti himself sing there after a show at Philly's academy of music. and guess what, the people who were in the side room, couldn't see him and didn't know he was singing. they kept talking, and he just sang. it was magical. they did quiet down when word got to them that it was Pavarotti, but it's not s.o.p there.
@jaypenn123 Sir. Thank you for explaining the situation. It certainly was not obvious in the film clip which was posted. To any person looking in it seemed like a musical gathering where the audience were ignoring the artist. As they say,,,one lives, and one learns. Thanks, and best wishes.
@dibeling well, to be fair: the Cafe has been there for decades, this is the culture there. it's not a recital hall, it's a small busy restaurant (patronized most frequently by people who don't live in philadelphia, thank you very much). i worked there about 12-15 years ago, it just goes with the territory and teaches sometimes much-needed humility.

Why are those assholes talking in the background when they have a future world class tenor singing in front of them?

Love this song!
One of my favourite from Mario Lanza and this is a pretty cool version...
Would you happen to have the lyrics and translation?
