  • this whole album is amazing start to finish. one of my favorite concept albums. the other being Tommy/The Pinball Wizard by the Who

  • it is a definetly a classic and i proud to cover this song. you can freely listen it in my channel.

  • This songs outro is just amazing

  • It's like a breath of fresh air to hear this song. This song is fantastic. Dare i fall into the hate and say it would rip justin beibers eyes out when he looks in the mirror? yes, and so shall it be one day.

  • 高校の時に聞いていました!

    今、聞いてもカッコイイ!

  • Holy crap, that ending is all... creepy. o.O Niiiceee...

This song reminds me of Iron Maiden. :P

  • クイーンズライチの曲でこの曲に匹敵するメロディックな曲って他にありますか?

    なかなかみつかんなんですが・・・おしえてください。

    お願いいたします。

  • 11 people are really retarded

  • @child156 and you don't know what is to respect the opinion of others, which doesn't make you retarded but ignorant

  • Estupendo

  • the begining is from pink floyd

  • Found out that this song was actually written for Pennhurst Asylum

  • 11 people accidentally pressed the dislike button.

  • this could be the next pink flyod the wall, if only they would do it.............

  • Geoff Tate....The greatest voice in metal.

  • @rock1musician

He was good, but his voice didnt hold up. his voice was completely blown after touring Empire for five years, he can't sing for shit now.

  • @thorbryce actually yes he can I've seen queensryche in concert recently and geoff can still belt it

  • @thorbryce Your opinion is completely baseless. I saw queensryche a few weeks ago and he was pitch-perfect, just as on record.

  • 10 peaople are douchebags

  • totaly underated band. these guys are awesome

  • the mirror never lies...

  • I don't wanna take a bath!

  • untouchable !!! ty for posting

  • motherfuckin LEGENDARY

  • So this band is better then Blink 182?? lol J/K

  • @NePhIlLyBiLlY1 agree, this sucks

  • @NePhIlLyBiLlY1 Saying that this band is better than Blink 182 is like saying that having a cookie is better than not having a cookie: it's so incredibly obvious there's no need to say it. This band is amazing. The end of this song always gives me chills.

  • @NePhIlLyBiLlY1 OBVIOUSLY!!!!

  • QUEENSRYCHE of the STONE AGE :D:DD:D

  • metallica+led zeppelin+pink floyd+iron maiden=QUEENSRYCHE

  • @THEFLYINGREDNECK im not sure about the iron maiden part haha..

  • @AWrevolution Hey, the vocals? And they claimed Maiden as an influence numerous times. It's especially apparent on their debut EP.

  • 22 years later and this album still kicks the hell out of and gay emo band, or most modern bands that is.

brilliant start to finish. the problem though, they have been chasing the success of this album ever since

  • @bored12358 that is true for so many groups and artists. Like Nas and illmatic or Iron Butterfly and in a-gadda-da-vida

  • dr davis telephone please

  • 4o\m/

  • it's amazing how this song describes me. i can't figure out how this is so close to how i feel, but the words are totally me... it's scary. great tune and

  • what does it say at the end of the song?

  • @nsvelvi it says "I remember now"

  • @ChrisJ926 before that

  • sounds like iron maiden lulz

  • Geoff still has it! and this should have been a wakeup call long ago to us that needed waking up! the man could see it coming!

  • what shall we use to fill the empty spaces . where we used to talk. how shall i fill the final, spaces. how should i complete the wall...

    haha

  • there is...its basically jason bourne

  • There isn't a movie based on this album because it speaks the truth about what is going on in society today, now even and it's still a little scary to think about.

  • Bruce Dickinson's still going strong though!!!

  • @welder8665 bruce dickinson sucks these days

  • Geoffs pipes are gone dudeskills sorry. Used up in the 80's and 90's ...

  • THIS GUT, ROBERT PLANT, & OZZY HAVE THE BEST VOICE IIN METAL BY FFFFFFFAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!!

  • Geoff Tate is the Bruce Dickinson of America. Too bad Geoff isn't using his pipes anymore :(

  • what are the words at the end of the song? (extended version)

  • favorite Queensrÿche song right here. amazing song

  • Who likes the intro is like Pink Floyd's Empty Spaces cause I sure do

  • @datpinkzeppelin Exactly my thoughts.. they almost seem identical within the first half minute or so

  • @datpinkzeppelin Yeah it does sound a lot like Empty Spaces, then there's the girl crying at the climax of the intro, sort of like in Speak To Me/Breathe.

  • Who would dislike a Queensryche youtube video?

    Thats worse than hitler. lol

  • 9 people are afraid of what lies behind their own stares

  • i think there was a movie W0,...it was called MINORITY REPORT, with tom cruise

  • you've seen "Anamorph"(2007) got the part "dr.david..."-is only spoken but movie is pretty nice-got killer who is playing something like dark-half of detectiv who "kill him"once

  • @boyo416 - "Dr David" is the audio equivalent of "stock footage", and has shown-up in several movies & tv shows produced well before Queensryche even formed.

  • And the drugged up Protagonist awakens to find that everything is all too real.....

  • @FMAStudent I think he really likes the idea of being the hitman at first. Until he's ordered to kill the woman he's been getting intimate with and the priest she serves.

Fuck, he doesn't even know if he's the one who killed her or not.

  • @W0BN1AR Yea for sure. Dude, this concept album has been my anthem on overcast days. Listening, to the whole album maybe once or twice a year when the weather's really crappy and gray and I have a shitty day just makes me feel fuckin cool !!!! Btw, the " eternal " concept of a hot blond with a cool exterior is just that, eternal. Further, I feel a lot of Veterans returning from Afghanistan can relate to the protagonist, easily. Nuff said.

  • REVOLUTION!

  • REVOLOUTION!

  • Everytime I try to leave it behind me

I see something that reminds me of you.....

  • the start of this song sounds SOOOO much like pink floyd!

  • Comment removed

  • This is currently my favourite Queensryche song, pure brilliance, even better live

  • I'm no metal fan, & I don't think I ever will be. However, this song will always be my No.1

  • Nice

  • One of the greatest metal songs of all time.

  • 8 Post Hardcore Kiddies didn't remember

  • Why isn't there a movie based on Operation Mindcrime? Seriously.

  • @W0BN1AR They have actually talked about doing a movie for Operation Mindcrime, somewhat recently. Not sure if anything ever became of it though.

  • @W0BN1AR "In April 2006, while doing press for sequel Operation: Mindcrime II, vocalist Geoff Tate told MTV.com that there were plans to make feature films out of both Operation: Mindcrime and its sequel. While details since then have been virtually nonexistent, Tate stated in the interview that he had worked on a script with a screenwriter named Mark Shepherd and that the band was shopping the completed script to various Hollywood studios.[1]" According to wikipedia.

  • @W0BN1AR I agree there is enough storie to make a movie,I tought that I was the only one who tought about it...

  • @W0BN1AR you've seen "Anamorph"(2007) got the part "dr.david..."-is only spoken but movie is pretty nice-got killer who is playing something like dark-half of detectiv who "kill him"once

  • @W0BN1AR They made a video back in 1988 that followed the album. What were they called again? Oh yeah videos!Just need to find a music shop that might have the box set seen it at the Bull Moose music store in Portmsmouth,N.H.

  • @W0BN1AR there is, except its a girl going through it, i cant remember the name of the movie =/

  • @W0BN1AR There is. It's called the Manchurian Candidate.

  • @W0BN1AR There was - it was Operation: Videocrime

  • @W0BN1AR No, But MTV always suggested it back in the day.

  • @W0BN1AR Operation LIVE Crime

  • @W0BN1AR Agreed....It would be great if some cutting edge film director and producer made Operation Mindcrime I & II as dark'n'gritty animated graphic novel style movies....I could be imersed in that.

  • 7 people turn away from the eyes of a stranger.

  • @W0BN1AR 7 and more and less people had only voted "dislike" and they did so NOT because they had believed that you yourself had been too much a stranger to get along with, because I'm sure that you're not too much of a stranger that had therefore ever scared them away from still being good friends with you.

  • @dannyclark1973 lol wat?

  • @W0BN1AR I was simply stating that I had hoped that you had not given to yourself a wrong image about the other voters who had voted their own "dislikes" about this song because I'm sure that it could had been that it was that they had not been aquainted about and/or with Queensryche.

  • @dannyclark1973 It was a joke, bro.

  • @W0BN1AR I did sorta' laugh at first ... It was because you had stated that 7 people had turned away FROM the eyes FROM/OF a stranger, that it was therefore that because not all strangers have given proper directions to other people that it was therefore that I had meant that if you don't trust that which is in a person's own eye(s) before asking them "how to turn away" because you had known that there had been some thing wrong, then maybe it's better to ask "what's wrong?".

  • @dannyclark1973

    Recreational drugs?

  • One of the best live bands to see in concert.

  • @urtypicaleskimo Seen them on their EMPIRE tour many years ago but the power coming from the stage was amazing. The audience was captivated, everyone was standing in awe and with mouth open (some dreweling) until, at the end of every song they erupted into a tsunami of cheers. A once in a lifetime experience!

  • @irelandexplorer Hey,yeah I've seen them 4 times with various venues. The last I seen them was 2007 with Alice Cooper,And Black Sabbath in Tampa the Heaven and Hell Tour.

  • @urtypicaleskimo wow, that must have been something! we are not blessed with such great line-ups here in ireland....

  • @irelandexplorer It was a great line up the original line up for Black Sabbath Ronnie James Dio,Geezer Butler,Tony Iommi and Vinnie Appice I believe is the drummers name. But any ways the original line up for Sabbath on that particular venue I believe the Heaven and Hell Reunion tour. Then seen Queensryche at a hole in the wall Club called the Hampton Beach Casino held about 1500 people if that but they played basically the whole album except didn't play the Operation Mindcrime song itself

  • @urtypicaleskimo Seen Sabbath once in Vienna back in '90 or '91 on their 'Headless Cross' Tour with Tony Martin on the vocals. Amazing gig from what i remember though i wasn't and still am not a big fan of Martin.

  • @irelandexplorer There's nothing like the originals like Ozzy and Dio.Just like AC/DC love to hear Bon Scott more than Brian Johnson but all in all a great replacement.Seen AC/DC five times even met Stephen King during the Who Made Who tour.Seen Dio 8 times in fact lost my hearing at the show with Motorhead,Dio,and Iron Maiden back in 2003 what a show.

  • @urtypicaleskimo I bet your insurance didn't cover that 'accident'. Seen AC/DC only once in Graz/Austria when they let money rain from the sky ('Money Talks'). Metallica was the opener but 95% of the people were there only to see Angus & Co. so no atmosphere at Enter Sandman. Kirk was so pissed off he stopped half way through Sandman and gave abuse to the crowd. Them being all Austrians they didn't understand a word and thought it was really cool. Metallica left the stage after 40 minutes...

  • @irelandexplorer Seen Metallica twice once with Kingdom Come,Dokken,Scorpians, and Van Hagar.Rained like crazy but still not a bad show. Then seen them with Alice in Chains and Guns and Roses in Florida 90 degree day but what a line up.I liked A.I.C. out of the three thebest.Seen a good 500 shows.

  • Production overload scared some prists.

This album OWNS my "survival of time" test.

Moste frightening use of a Rosary ever?

  • i hope my neighbors like this

  • the 6th greatest song ever,fucking brilliant.

  • Operation Mindcrime album sounds like war propaganda

  • What fucking idiot would dislike this song?! I guess the 7 people who disliked it never lost somebody who they love.

I dedicate this song to my best friend...

  • REVOLUTION!

  • I see Queensryche in germany as the Support for Mettalica. It was so great

  • @kirkmetalupurass Very true.

  • saw these guys just recently at the State fair here in Colorado, they were kick ass even today. This song was on the roster.

  • One of the only albums I can actually push play and let it run all the way through, enjoying every track as much as the previous one

  • best album ever

  • @bayya1968 One of the best concept albums to add. Brilliant piece of story telling and musicianship. Simply awesome. Still sounds awesome after all these years.

  • @photog455 right dude. one and only.

  • always liked this..

  • very very good

  • The best Queensryche album of all time...every song rocks! Each song continues the epic story...awesome

  • The best Queensryche album of all time...every song rocks!

  • 1983, Voorprogramma van eerste optreden DIO in Vorst Nationaal. Toen al goed.

  • my favorite qr song.

  • killer SONG

  • geoff tates sounds a lot like michael kiske or michael kiske sounds like geoff tates

  • @TheManlyman21 it is obvious Kiske influenced by Tate

  • @JackalTheMasked wow they sound so alike but without tate i wouldnt have helloween keeper of the seven keys albums!!! I NEED MY DOSE OF BOTH BANDS!!

  • You can't tell Dream Theater were huge Queensryche fans :P Great Music. This and empire are my two favorite Queensryche records.

  • @alexwribs19

you can't? LaBrie's falsetto vocals are clearly influenced by people like Tate and Geddy Lee.

all progressive music passes down something to another

  • @Grizzlism typo sorry lol

  • Slipknot better, this band for fats, slipknot heavier, i like masks, nickelback is heavy, hinder is a great band.

  • @MikeLamb24 HINDER IS SUCH AN TERRIBLE BAND NICKELBACK AND SLIPKNOT ARE A JOKE THEY AIN´T HEAVY , QUEENSRYCHE IS AN FIRST RATE 80´S ACT FUCKER!

  • @MikeLamb24 you obviously have no clue what music is. Slipknot (their last 3 albums) are good, so is godsmack and disturbed, metallica. But those bands i just mentioned sum up about 98% of todays metal worth listening to! Im 29 years old dude, I grew up on this album, Bands like twisted sister, skid row,Led zepplin,Great White, kiss,GNR,VAN HALEN, ETC.......THOSE are great bands that people with a taste for music will remember forever!!! its kiddies like you who are clueless and therefore stupid!

  • @jfrankart Your just a troll dude.

  • @MikeLamb24 and your still ignorant! try appreciating music and the bands that paved the way for most of the garbage thats out now, instead of knocking on it!!!

  • @jfrankart...agreed

  • @MikeLamb24 This band is for "fats?"... Fat people?..... :O

  • One of my favorite albums of all time.

  • BEST BAND, BEST ALBUM, BEST SONG!!! Awesome!

  • seen them twice. great live show.

  • this song came out the year i was born

  • Comment removed

  • seeing theese guys in july!!!!!! hell yeah!! :)

  • The build during the first verse and the ensuing transition to the prechorus/chorus in this song is a thing of absolute beauty!!!

  • It'd be wicked awesome if they made a movie out of this like they did The Wall. But maybe it's too late. = 3=

  • I saw them open for Metallica back in the day on the "And Justice for All" tour and they got boo'd off the stage. I was pretty pissed as they are one of the most underrated and quality bands from that time period. I went to the concert to see Metallica but was familiar with QR and happy to see them on the bill. They never got the justice they deserved IMO.

  • nice vocal

  • superb vocals

  • This is the first time ive heard Queensryche. Wow, fucking wow

  • I first heard this song on House of Hair. If it's not metal, IT'S CRAP!

  • theses guys are so kool.

  • This really was a great album when it was released and I'd say it had stood the test of time.

  • Screw all the others and the new shit! QR and Dokken knew how to get the job done right and were truely WORLD CLASS music from the heart. I don't know why Adlofs minions would have switched favor to the nigs.

  • The greatest metal song of all time!

  • The best Metal song of all time!

  • I knew this band now,and i´m starting to like it! God Bless Youtube!!

  • A True Masterpiece is what this album is

  • It's so crazy . . . this is my dad's favorite band, and we were exposed to these songs throughout our entire childhood. And yet . . . here I am, Youtube, and there's only 143 thousand people who know about this song. So crazy.

  • Drums Drums Drums!!! From 5:28 on is some magical shit!!

  • Drums Drums Drums!!!

  • Sony walkman, flying to London, listening to this on cassette ... great melodies. It's a big production, but it seems to withstand the test of time. Killer vocals.

  • I Love Every Song On This Album!

  • This album will never be bested in Heavy Metal. All of it. The closing track is just the fitting end to the glorious piece of art that is called ' Operation Mindcrime'. Blessed are we!

  • i didnt like mindcrime 2 But then again nothing compairs to the real thing ( Operation Mindcrime) yee yee!

  • I'm not superstitious, but my mirror just dived onto the floor and into a million pieces, right at 2:02.

  • the only reason i checked this band out was because of the name ,and i must say ,they are simply amazing haha cant stop listening to them

  • @nudeadnation faggot.

  • amazing

  • I like the guitars, but I don't like the whole epic 80's feel synth thing going on. That's just me, and I'll keep my opinion to myself. And let alone, I didn't grow up in the 80's so would also explain it as well as being more so into metal, that hair metal and the like. I'm big into Dream Theater, and it is very clear that James LaBrie is significantly influenced by the singer from Queensryche as well as John Petrucci

  • One of the greatest albums made.Next to Blue Oyster Cult's Imaginos

  • Definitely one of THE most underrated songs / bands! Queensryche kicks major ass!

  • Straightjacket memories, sedative eyes.
