  • Cleggryan you put in the same step srv an mayer?,really, really?,srv is the best of all times,i know that this was posible, becuase of jimi, albert king, and others of the best, but srv takes all ,you can answer to guitar players, like eric clapton, buddy guy,bb king etc,he died at 34,you can imagine srv now?,the one and only, respect to all the best, like jimi, but srv is and will be the best ever

  • u know when he cleaned up he gently put his hat on the mic? in this he just kinda tossed it up there instead

  • @DNM35 If you really believe that than I ask you to watch any of his material from the past 7 years. He isn't the "pop prince" people perceive him to be. He's a bluesman at heart & even though Blues is his love he has no boundaries whatsoever when it comes to playing other genres. That's why hes so hard to label. Watch his live DVD Where the Light Is or any of his shows in general! I've seen him 3 times & was lucky enough to see Voodoo Child; very SRV inspired. I promise hes not what you think.

  • @surfer1211 srv good but dont call jimis name out in vain you egit! if it wasnt for him john mayer or stevie wouldnt be known u muppet. and stop arguin and just listen!!! : ¬ )

  • Srv is the best electric blues player of all time, the one and only

  • Look at that face at 2:52 Pure badass. And the tone of that Strat............WOW.He beat the living shit outta that guitar but he still made it sound like a Dream.I reckon if you gave him a three string Banjo he'd make that sound like Dream.R.I.P. Stevie Ray.....Legend.

  • wtf john mayer ?!! whyy is everybody talking bout him, he's shitt.

  • John mayer couldnt hold his pick? obviously your full of shit. Theres a reason why double trouble only plays with the greats.... and john mayer is one of them.

  • his guitar was a piece of garbage that sounded great, only stevie could pull that off.

  • Comment removed

  • @cultofpersonality123 if srv touched it, it aint garbage. its a peice of heaven shuved in a already full can of awesomeness coverd with pure amazing goodness.

  • SRV was the best !

thanks for sharing - favorite !

  • wher is this?!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL the best dancer in the whole crowd was the black dude. Stevie is not a GOD but he was a mind blowing player, better than any guitarist in my opinion.

  • @StevieAndCoryYUMMY I agree, but many have come along since then that are bvery good. Joe Bonamassa for example blows almost every other artist I've ever heard away. Doyle Bramhall junior is also quite amazing. Scott McKeon, Jesse Davey...

  • @ryanintopeka Well, in my opinon Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best and nothing can change that!!! EVER

  • @StevieAndCoryYUMMY For the most part I agree with you. my wife has him tattooed on her, and our daughter middle name is for him...so I'm right there with ya....I'm just saying a lot of seriously amazing players have come along since then...

  • Check out his personal cigarette holder! That's awesome! Once again Stevie you prove yourself unique!

  • 1 person has no pride or joy!!! srv!!!!

  • where is this? carnegie hall? i have no idea.. :S

  • @Ilovebeefroxmypants no is a tv show

  • @Ilovebeefroxmypants i think it's somewhere in germany.

  • thats the group spandau ballet, but why we need to see those tarts in a srv video is beyond me.

  • Voto 100 +!!! Che MERAVIGLIA!

  • Please watch my band's videos! We are trying to have some soul like Stevie, but it's hard in today's music environment to get off the ground doing something that's not lady gaga or auto-tuned. heh eh eh he. Please Please please, any comments would be appreciated!

  • @badmics you are right, today the songs are disposable, but I believe those who have a dream to be realized. SRV. 'It was a manifestation of music. The best of the best.

  • woah first time ive seen him with his hat off :O

  • who would be dumb enough to put john mayer and stevie in the same sentence? stevie is a god and mayer is a fag. nuff said

  • @rockbox73 well if you look at your second sentence apparently you are.lol. I'm just fucking with you man. I completely agree that mayer aint got shit on Stevie.

STV is my pride and joy

Cabronazo de la guitarra, ese era Stevie.

  • this is pretty old 83 maybe 84

  • its 85 me dad was there

  • Great Music. Bad video editing :) Gotta love the facefull of armpit hair at 4.33.

  • is that a girl or guy at 1:15? Weird how they show those people instead of the band.

  • Im sad to say but this song is not Pride & Joy it`s Lovestruck baby

  • Watch passed the first 3 mins Allan ;).

  • watch the whole video dumbass...he plays both on this video...people always want to put two cents in a bucket that doesn't accept change

    grow up

  • It says lovestruck in the title...then Pride & Joy...

  • Dig the cigarette on the guitar 0:15...nice

  • 84 or 85? Before Reese. I saw SRV twice before Reese and it was a totally different feel....a little more raw and a smaller more intimate production.

  • excelent version the pride and joy. thank you

  • I think it really cool when he puts the hideaway riff half way through pride and joy ( 5.09 ) it really gives that texas blues crunch!!

  • that's spandau ballet in the green room?

  • I really dig that guy at 2:56 - 3:01 ^^

  • Looks like Jon & Kate in high school.

  • its 85 me dad was there

  • he looks skinny

  • Yeah i think that Chuck B. would kill me for it.

  • I have. But would it be nice, if we all had the same opinion?

  • love the little eric clapton style smoke stuck under the string :D

  • totally on fire!!!!!!!hail the mighty youtube

  • aint rare no more.. its posted on youtube..

  • My first performance I ever saw of SRV.

  • Every note he plays is smokin'

  • Like his unique playing SRV's got his stylistic dress up.

along with Jimi ,hes the only guy who can talk, shout, laugh n cry through guitar.

    Miss ya both.

  • sooo true

  • This is like a aniversity when two lovers get married... This video is like an aniversity to me, my very first SRV video I have ever seen. I was (4)

  • aniversity? Anniversary you mean?

  • that's gotta be my favorite version of P&J

  • Oh I fill so sorry for you... whoever isn't a fan of SRV is REALLY werid.

  • that is true but what pisses me off the most is when you say stevie ray vaughn and some looks at u like u have two heads cuz theyve never have heard of the guy

  • I agree with you, but first learn to write the man's name correctly...

  • my bad typing issues

  • wow...just, wow...

you know, this guy is just the bomb! i've only just discovered/gotten into SRV in the past year (born in 1989), and i am really seeing what all the commotion is about with this guy!

while john mayer will always be my favorite guitarist, and best in my opinion (from my generation), R-E-S-P-E-C-T TO THIS GUY!

jimi hendrix on the other hand... :-/ yea, i loathe his playing...just not a fan :-(

  • Good to see you in as as SRV fan!

There is so many great SRV stuff,

a simple showcase of his virtuosity, inteligence, abilities, skills!

For me along with Jimi Hendrix,

SRV is the best guitar player ever!

    Guitar god!

  • amen!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What the hell man, you clearly have not heard enough Hendrix. You definitely have only heard his most famous tunes, or have seen his musically mediocre performances. Hendrix is the prerequisite to SRV and John Mayer's bluesy style.

  • Well...considering I haven't ever seen a "mediocre" performance of SRV ANYWHERE...and I've seen several of Jimi...I'm gonna go by that.

Jimi Hendrix was amazing...don't get me wrong, but I can list on one hand the amount of times Stevie botched a single musical line in ANY of his performances.

Jimi Hendrix < SRV......SLIGHTLY. I'm not bashing Hendrix, I'm just saying, SRV set his sights on being just as good...and he ended up being just as better.

Now...Mayer......he's got a LONG way to go.

  • john mayer??? please lol...he couldnt hold stevies pick

  • @DNM35

He's not even fit to pick up Stevie's used kleenex!!!

  • @DNM35 well. no one can hold johns either.

  • @DNM35 nobody can ever replace SRV ....but plz try to understand that Mayer at his age ryte now he's doin pretty well wih his guitar works ... i ain't comparin him to srv .. but he'ss a cool deal too u knw ............

  • @DNM35 OO that sounds nasty hehehehhe

  • @DNM35 Believe me you I know SRV was untouchable. As much as I love John Mayer & his style/playing I know where the most natural soul & talent resided & that was in Stevie. I know SRV is the best, even above Hendrix IMO, & I'd best my last dollar that JM still has that respect for Stevie. JM posted on his blog about Stevie on his 20th year anniversary & held him in the highest respects. JM found blues due to SRV. Just give JM a chance, he can hold his own for sure. Peace.

    /watch?v=Pphe3SPtyUQ

  • dude john mayer cant hold a candle to stevie OR jimie

  • just him and the sss ...cool

  • Haha! I know it was a totally different time in history, but it's really funny to watch the dancing in this video. We've got everything from complete suit and tie, to total drunk redneck dancing in this vid. Great classic Stevie...awesome!

    SRV=Simply the BEST EVER!

  • The people dancing are killing me. Just about everytime he rips off a solo they cut to those lame ass people in the audience, whats that about? I mean c'mon...

  • Lol at the cigarett... just like Clapton did it :) But the man is just awesome

    R.i.p. SRV

  • everybody did that shit..not just clapton..jimi did that shit too

  • è lui lu più forte,srv

  • This was awesome. Thanks

  • is this not "Live at El Mocambo"?

  • nope

  • LOL!

  • is there more from this show? i beg you please post if so

  • LOL - what's with the random cut to Spandau Ballet?!

  • Thanks for posting this I love Stevie Ray.This reminded me of something else that girls in the 80s had nice tight asses anyone else remember how good they looked in them jeans.LOL

  • great song the band backstage is so gay

  • Stevie invented the sidewalk! LOL

  • I love how you can tell those people were told to dance, but you can see some people that just stop and watch in awe, not knowing what the hell they just saw. Only Stevie could do that.

  • yeah its cool how srv just blasts it raw and real even in such a plastic environment hes undeniabley the real thing

  • Wow new video! Where do you get these? Thanks!

  • Bad ass!! He rips that version of P and J. I like the little extension on the ending :)
