You know, to be fair, for an anime dubbed in the 80s/90s.. they did a pretty good job. Most older anime in English is gawd awful (acting, voices, etc). Yeah, Maya is a little obnoxious, but the acting isn't bad :) It's nice to be able to watch this again in my 20s and it not be cringing, haha. I loved this as a kid, and I'm still loving it now!

@Yarrette Well that's obvious. Of course it is. The english has bad voice acting, very lame songs, and very awkward music transitions. The reason people like this is due to nostalgia. But would I show this to may children? Yes, I think I would. (Plus the anime is episodic, and the dub is just a movie, which is why the dub has some scenes that go nowhere. Like the pixie scene)

OMG! The local video store had this before it went out of business and I loved it! I tried looking everywhere for it online and got only the regular results for Thumbelina. Praise you for finding it. And I realized that the voice of Hoppy is that of Ash from Pokemon!
