HAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!! FORD I LIFT YOU NAME ON HIGH!! MY DODGE IS AN AWESOME DODGE!!!! XD HAHHAHAHHAHAHA!!! One of my favourites of his are the scary bedtime prayers !! so funny! OH and the lullaby ones with the wrong words!!! HEHHEHHEH he just cracks me up!
Tim hawkins is a comedic genius, very clean and religious, his work is very far from blasphemous, i cant really see where people have posted comments against him but there are people replying like that so thats my comment right there
tim hawkins is freakin' awesome!! I myself write musical comedy (it's on my youtube page, feel free to check it out if you want), and try to keep things on the cleaner side...so this guy's like an inspiration to me...we need more comedians like him...
He's really funny and who cares if he's making fun of these contemperary Christian songs, they suck anyway. The problem with most people is, they don't read the Bible and let it tell them how to be Christians. Most people don't even read it, and if they do... they look at it and say...it doesn't say I can't have instruments with songs of praise. Instead of saying the new testament only says sing and never talks about musical instruments....maybe we should only sing in songs of praise.
u kno he is not cause my cousins are the biggest christians i will ever kno cause the pray every morning and night and everything there mom and dad say right away and they think he is funny so he is not mocking god he is singing stuff that is about our world
"Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult" Your right, Solomon. I'm tired of the insults, so I'll stop. I hope that one day, the love of God will enter the hearts of everyone here and they will understand exactly how loving mockery is.
Does not the praise used to create this mockery belong to the Lord Himself? Do not the churches he mocks also belong to the Lord? It seems very clear that this video would not please Him.
It would seem that you believe God doesn't have a sense of humor. We are created in His image, so I believe He does have a sense of humor. Blasphemy doesn't please Him, no, but this is a parody on the works of men, not God. Lighten up!! Laugh a little. :)
By your logic, "we are such, so he must be such," God must also be a liar and a sinner, but that is not true either. I do believe God has a wonderful sense of humor, but I don't believe God finds humor in mockery, else, why would it be in the Bible so many times that mockers would be and should be punished.
The music itself has no inherent good or evil to it - therefore taking the music and changing the words to entertain is not blasphemy. Like DeathbyLuxury said the songs were a work of men not God, They are not the Bible.
The music in Handels Messiah - some of those tunes originally baudy little numbers, it works both ways, therefore the music is not what is blessed, it is the intent of the artist and the words that make it good.
If he was singing God drives a Dodge - that would be blasphemy
I said nothing of it being blasphemy. The songs no doubt have been dedicated to God, thus are they not his? Nonetheless, it is not the songs he is mocking, but the churches interactions with materialism, these churches which do belong to God. Doesn't anyone fear God enough to think mocking his stuff is, if nothing else, dangerous?
Hey, remember in the Bible where they were selling stuff in the Temple what did Jesus do? Was He happy with that? No, in fact, just the opposite, As I recall he chased the merchants out of the Temple, because what they were doing was wrong. So therefore Churches who sell out to corporations bad, and anyone who calls them out, in love, good.
BTW People are the Church, the building is just a building where we meet.
Short answer get off your sanctimonious self-righteous high horse.
Comedians (for the most part) make their living making fun of stuff. In this case, what is being made fun of is the churches interactions with consumerism, materialism, or whatever. If I were to make fun of the way you sit in your chair, am I not making fun of you?
the car songs are my favorite. especially the dodge one!

I don't see this as a mockery of the Church, I see this as more of a sarcastic reaction to the stupid, fictitious Time article.

How darest thou speak of God this way. You mockest God. You will reside in thine pits of Hell. Krispy Kreame is not that good. Dunkin is the best.

Again, he is not mocking God,
I just realized why your knickers are in a knot, you probably attend one of these churches who have sold out, and its hitting too close to home
