  • 0:32 has possession and knees on the ground. gets up without dribbling. Travel.

  • @heckanimal He does gain possession when he is on his knees, but just like when you catch a ball off a pass, you are allowed 2 steps or in this case getting to your feet. It would only be a travel if he has possession then falls then gets back on his feet.

  • Lol 0:15 SPINS!

  • It's almost like a fumble, when the ball is loose you can still pick it up and run with it.

  • rondo needs to put his headband again

  • Am i the only one that realized the reporter said spins and he did a crossover..

  • To all those saying "that was a travel" you need possession of the ball to travel. Ball is still loose on the ground.

  • i'm 100% sure it was a travel

  • @koss121 He kept the ball on the floor the whole time. that's why it wasn't a travel.

  • rondo cant shoot but he can fuckin ball!

  • he has more hustle than hustler magazine

  • Greatest spin move ever.... apparently he spun so fast only Mike Breen's incredible vision could see it.

  • @angusy27 no spin move

  • like it or not it was a travel

  • Rhondo didn't travel, or even walk, but Williams should have been on the floor to get possession of that ball. I don't know the final score, but Jason's lack of total-petal-to-the-metal-extreme-in-the-dream-all-out hussle resulted in a four or five point turn around.

Rhono is probably quicker than Williams now, at what? 35? No one was quicker than Williams when he was Rhondo's age. Iverson, was his equal, but I doubt if he'd have prevented this score, either.

  • everyone just shutup honestly its jaw dropping he even got the ball if its a travel big deal the way he played in the 2010 playoffs was just legendary

  • @tkballer216 legendary? he had a few spectacular moments like this vid for instance but his overall performance was far from legendary. 15 points, 5 reb and 9 ast on 46% shooting and 59% from the FT line. That's not legendary.

  • @carolinaguy313 dont look at stats just look at his hustle and multiple tripple doubles. the dude is a stat sheet filler. and he does things that ppl havent done in years like the cavalier triple double in game 4 he only shares that record with oscar robertson and wilt chamberlain. hes going to have many more amazing playoff performances hes still only 25 years old and hes already sharing records with players like oscar and wilt? cant wait to see him in his prime

  • @tkballer216 Rondo isn't consistent, and if he doesn't develop a jump shot his prime won't be special. That's why he is overrated, if his teammates aren't knocking down shots so he can't rack up assist he crumbles, he can't rely on his own offense, that's a fact. 2010 Finals it was like he barely even played. I'll give him credit he is a great defender for his position but outside of assist he doesn't dominate any other aspect. Which is why he isn't on the level of Cp3, Rose and D-will.

  • @carolinaguy313 i never said he was on the level of cp3 or dwill those 2 are the best point guard in the league. derrick rose is a special scorer but he cant facilitate or run an offense like rondo, cp3, and d-will can. remember jason kidd was a terrible shooter but developed a jumpshot later in his career and hes now third on all time 3 pointers made list. rondos only flaw is jump and free throws. if he can patent those 2 then he easily can be the best pg in the league

  • @tkballer216 Yea Rondo can facilitate better but Rose can dominate and take over a game on a much greater scale. Difference between the two is Rose doesn't need his teammates to shoot well to have a great game. And Kidd was a bad shooter but never as bad as Rondo, 24% from 3 and 62% from the FT line. 7 times in Kidd's career he has shot over 35% from 3. I doubt he will ever develop a jump shot like Cp3 or D-will to surpass them as the leagues best pg, so far his jumper isn't even close.

  • @carolinaguy313 nba is an unpredictable place i dont think hes gonna turn into chris paul or deron williams in terms of his jumpshot but he can make significant strides to be better. derrick rose just found his jumperr this season i dont see why rondo cant do the same by working this offseason...or the possible absent season to get a nice jumper. rondo is a unique talent bcuz shooting is his only flaw. rondo is also one of the few players in the nba who can dominate a game without scoring

  • @tkballer216 I don't see why you keep comparing other players shooting to Rondo's. Rose wasn't as bad at shooting as Rondo is now. I honestly can't remember any star guard in history that shoots as bad as Rondo does. Yea he can become a better shooter but I really don't think he'll make that much of an improvement to be deadly when left wide open. Yea Rondo is one of the few players that can dominate without scoring, but he is also one of the few stars that can't dominate with their scoring.

  • @carolinaguy313 but see thats wat makes him unique and a special player is that hes so different thats wat gives him so many haters is bcuz ppl cant stand when a player is a lil bit different. just my opinion

  • @tkballer216 So because he has flaws in areas that the common guard doesn't have that makes him different? lol There isn't a single thing he can do that another guard can't do in the same aspect. He dominates 1 side of the ball, while being totally exposed on the other. I am not a Rondo hater, I just see him for who he truly is, and that's overrated. He greatly benefits by playing alongside 3 future hall of famers. Do you honestly think he would be as good on a team like Cleveland? No way.

  • @carolinaguy313 so many players in the league respect rondo the ppl that actually play against him even magic johnson the greatest pg of all time said himself rondo is the best pg in the game. he only has 1 flaw and thats shooting. i dont think theres a pg in the nba that has his combination of athleticism, leadership, facilitatiing, hustle, and defensive capability. no doubt he benefits from his situation but you cant blame him for that. just if he had a jumpshot everyone would shutup

  • @tkballer216 shooting is his only flaw? lol The fact that he is a bad shooter allows the defense to sag off on him causing double teams on guys like Pierce and Allen, do you realize how ineffective that leaves him? CP3-leader, offense, defense, play maker, clutch, efficient, there isn't a single thing he can't do at his position, can you say that about Rondo? NO you can't. Why did Magic praise CP3 as a top 3 player in the league during last seasons playoffs if he thinks Rondo is the best pg?

  • @carolinaguy313 shooting is his only flaw yes. cp3 is a better player than rondo but i never seen cp3 average a triple double in a playoff series and i never seen cp3 do anything like wat rondo does in this video. leaving rondo open actually gives him a head of steam going to the basket but going back to wat i said shooting is his flaw. so hes afraid to shoot free throws. i never once said rondo is better than anyone i never once said rondo is the best pg in the league. hes just a awesome player

  • @tkballer216 I never seen Rondo make top 3 in player efficiency rating, I never seen him lead the league in assist and steals in the same season. Guys like CP3, Rose and D-will all have to be the main scorers on their team, while being the main guy that sets up everyone on the offensive end, Rondo would not be able to handle the load those guys face every night because he isn't equipped to be the #1 option, due to the fact his offensive game is non existent. Awesome or not he is still overrated

  • @carolinaguy313 everyone has a different definition of wat a point guard is and wat their role is. it is unfair to rank point guards bcuz every point guard has a different role on their respective team and therefore have different skill sets based on their role. rondo is by no means an offensive pg. im just saying that he is a great player. is he overrated bcuz he cant score and shoot? see some ppl would say that a point guards role is to facilitate and not score. its all a matter of perception

  • @tkballer216 This is the last thing im gone say, he is overrated cuz ppl try to compare him to guys like Cp3 and D-will. Rondo is in a position where he doesn't have to do as much because he has a ton of help, his biggest flaw (offense) is overshadowed because he has great scorers around him but when he gets exposed in the playoffs ppl ignore it. Cp3, Rose and D-will are always at the top of their game win or lose. Rondo has it easier but yet under performs on many occasions. That's Overrated.

  • @carolinaguy313 But Rondo gets triple doubles and everything & those pgs you named all have at least shooters.

  • rondos a joke he cant shoot worth shit id take jason williams anyday over him

  • @mike813tampa you must be on crack if you would rather have jason williams

  • that move defines rondo

  • Crazy play but that is definitely a travel. Your not allowed 2 get up when you have the ball on the ground & Rondo did get up after he had possession of the ball. He had the ball when he was on the ground & got up with the ball still touching his hands. You cannot even roll over or change position when you have the ball on the ground. Refs just saw a good play & let it go, happens all the time.

  • ohh..that sexy beast

  • i tried that, i ended up with my elbows and knees getting owned by the hardwood - i got killer scabs from it though

  • this is a great hustle play by rondo and no it is not a travel! He dove and put his hand on top of the ball without having possesion which makes him able to get up and put it in

  • @deionsanders748 your an idiot that is a travel your not allowed to dive on the ground to get a ball than roll around or get back up and even if he did dribble the ball did not touch the ground until he was already off the ground so yes it is a travel

  • @Beastmann14 Not a travel because he didn't pick the ball up until he was on his feet. Learn the rules of basketball before posting next time.

  • isnt that a travel cause he stood up without dribbling?

  • best point guard ever

  • imma say this, for yall to think that was traveling, it wasnt, as he dove for the ball, he got up without the ball, then picked it up and made a play, that don't count as traveling

  • @jpoint14 after watching it a few times i think you're right...he got up without the ball, then picked it up and dribbled, which would not be a travel, very close tho

  • When Rondo got up Jason Williams was like "WTF, aint that travel?"

  • traveling

  • magic are so fucking soft

  • yeah he should of dove for it but its still a travel

  • didn't jason williams get waved by the magic..uhh

  • Jason Williams should've dove for the ball...I don't noe why he didn't do that

  • @JordanVallejo1989 coz he cant hes old

  • I went to this game. best play i've ever witnessed. such a hustle play.

  • At no point does Rondo spin

  • I remember after seeing that live thinking the series is over after that play

  • mmy coach would have kicked me off the team if that happened to me

  • he did travel....but hey its the nba, as long as you play hard you can break the rules

  • that was just a simple game of who wants it more. and Rondo won.

  • rondo takes from the legs. Spin, puts it up, bang its in

  • spins?

  • i was at that game and the croud went crazy on that play. its amazing, every single basket the fans sreamed their asses off.

  • AMAZING PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!! travel.....

  • Grand Theft RONDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Tom Brady ought to be proud to be in the same discussion"...lol.... Mark Jackson is fucking awesome!!!!

  • U people are funny, I remember when JWill crossed Gary Payton and Allen Iverson crossed Jordan...people get old and the younger guys come in with stronger knees and more stamina....in 12 years if Rondo is still playing he will get his turn too. But good play still, and I have seen plays like that go both ways with a travel violation as well......

  • coming from a lakers fan.. this was the best moment after the lakers win back to back titles in the 2010 playoffs Handss Downn

  • My favorite part of this is that the commentator says “Spins” where did he spin?

  • RONDOOOOOOOOOOOO'D

  • The magic just got rondo'd :)

  • amazing!NOOOOO TRAVEL!!!!

  • YOU PEOPLE SERIOUSLY THINK YOU KNOW BETTER THAN TRAINED NBA REFS? FUCK OFF EVEN IF IT WAS A TRAVEL WHO FUCKING CARES ITS A FUCKING AMAZING PLAY.

  • @Dannniel53 "TRAINED NBA REFS"---NBA is fixed bro. It's fucking wrestling. They already found that one ref who fixes games. You think he's the only one? Basketball is the easiest game to manipulate. Keep drinking the kool aid. MLB & NFL are both better than this prison league.

  • this is coming from a laker fan: i don't think it's a travel coz he didn't actually slide on the floor after he hold it,he dives to the floor, then picks up the ball then jumps back up,no sliding.

  • you can't get up off the floor without dribbling. that's a total travel you ymca fucking tards that say it aint don't know shit!

  • @mcpheefee alrite Karrem

  • i wouldnt necessarily say embarrising. Putting more effort in than a guy in his mid thirties wit bad knees. Seems like the probable outcome

  • Thumbs up if your COACH would've BENCHED YOU for the rest of the quarter and CUSSED YOU OUT for not getting to that loose ball before Rondo!

  • hahaha people if it was a travel I think media would be making a bigger deal out of this, he did not have possession of the ball until he was on his feet. the ball never left the ground until both of his feet were planted. If the ball was off the ground it would be considered carrying the ball and as we all know you can only take two steps while carrying the ball, otherwise it would be a travel, but he didn't do that. So no it wasnt a travel, stop being babies about it

  • and anyways, usually when there is a travel, if the refs dont call it, marc jackson, van gundy or any other announcer would have said it coz their not biast. NOBODY is calling it a travel except the all the haters, lols anybody notice that. Magic johnson, stuart scott every body who talked about it at halftime and espn etc praising it nobody said nothing about no travel,, its just the truth

  • i got this from the official nba rule book for all the haters who think its a travel

    Section XIV-Traveling

    h. A player who falls to the floor while holding the ball, or while coming to a stop, may not gain an advantage by sliding.

meaning if ya go down with the ball cant come up with it...butttt, he starts on the ground, notice how the ball doesnt even come off the floor untill he is on his feet, a clean play folks, sorry haters

  • hes has good handles

  • fucking travel. a player can't get up with the ball in any situation if he was on the ground before.

  • Comment removed

  • If you get possession of the ball on the floor, you can't just stand back up without bouncing the ball. DEFINITE TRAVEL!

  • The NBA, where uncalled traveling happens

  • This was the best play of 2010 if the Celtics had won that game 7............

  • @joel8001 no its a travel.... you cant get up after being on the floor with the ball... look up the rules.

  • I was snapping when they didn't call a travel on this play. I hate to admit by observing this video, it "wasn't a travel". I think we get this play confused when someone dives for the ball, picks the ball up, and then gets up rather than what Rondo just did.

  • Cooo-oookies!

  • biggest foul! biggest travel! haha

  • @deionsanders748 haha aren't these bubbles anoying

  • Best play ive ever seen

    wow :D

  • yeah sorry but def a travel. Rondo def had possession and picked his knee up before he stared dribbling. Cant believe it was just nominated for an ESPY

  • yeah sorry but def a travel. Rondo def had possession and picked his knee up before he stared dribbling. Cant believe it was just nominated for an ESPY

  • yeah sorry but he def had possession and he def got off his knees before he started dribbling. Cant believe it was just nominated for an ESPY

  • @ryanzibb10 even if you say its a travel, you can't take away that kind of an effort play, even if its a travel the guy on the floor deserves the credit cause he went to go get it. jason williams showed a pathetic effort to go for the ball. THATS an espy play.

i'm not even a celtics fan, but that was amazing.

  • GRAND. THEFT. RONDOOOOOO

  • Isn't it a travel if you drag your feet on the ground with the ball?

  • hustle play of the year! rajon is a beast! go celtics!

  • Yeahh honestly ya'll quit bitchin about how he traveled and shit, everybody travels in the NBA.... WHO GIVES A FUCK..

  • shut the fuck up you faker fucks. what makes this play so special is how rondo had the heart to huslte for the loose ball despite williams being 10X closer to it. then rondo dove, and got up and banked it in WITHOUT traveling

  • how come the announcer said that rondo spinned he just did a crossover then layup

  • Grand Theft Rondo

  • ITS A TRAVEL I WAS GOING CRAZY WHEN I SAW THIS

  • @DUKEBLU1 IT WASNT A TRAVEL.look at the replay. he dribbled before he got up

  • where sacrifice happens

  • white boy can't play, uh-huh-huh

  • @a2zspaceb2g In the NBA, it is legal to get up from the ground after you gain possession of a loose ball, establish a pivot foot, and resume play. Here, Rondo gains possession of the loose ball, establishes a pivot (left foot), then dribbles. A legal play in the NBA, but not one in any other basketball league.

  • isnt that travel? he got up with the ball when he was on the ground?

  • As much as I HATE Rondo, I'm afraid this isn't a travel. Check out the NBA.com Video Rule Book and under 'Traveling & Dribbling Violations' click 'Legal Moves by Offensive player with the ball.' You will see that "when in possession of the ball while on the floor, an offensive player is permitted to stand up, establish a pivot foot and resume play." Is it a dumb rule? Yes, since in any other organized basketball game it would be a travel. Nonetheless, great hustle by Rondo.

  • The magic lost the series anyways ( cuz they suck ballz ). Dwight Howard, and the the rest of the magic team are faggots thinking that there the best when they just got there asses kicked by a 500. team. The whole magic orgonozation should go and suck rajon rondos balls, the only good player the magic has is J.J. Redick and hes a fag.

  • deionsanders748 shit, I gained over 14 ins on my jump by completing the workout over at "50inch vertical (dot) com". now being one of the shorter kids on court is the least thing I have to worry about in basketball now, haha

  • you can complain that it was a travel (even though it wasnt), either way, that was a ridiculous amount of effort. rondo was balls to the wall on that play.

  • GUYS LET ME SAY SOMETHING....IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK...WE GOT THE BUCKET AND WE TOOK THE SERIES...SO ALL YOU HATERS CAN SUCK ITTTT

  • Exactly. The refs did not call a travel. and even if they had, would that really have changed the outcome of this game or this series?? No it wouldn't. So all of you need to quit bitching about it. it was a spectacular play, and probably among the most memorable of these entire playoffs.

  • @1randommofo finally someone who knows what they're talking about...

  • Rondo didn't have possesion of the ball to begin with, so it wasn't a travel...anyone who thinks it was is obviously a Magic fan or don't know how to play basketball.

  • yall need to get it right none of you idiots clearly know anything about playin ball and look twice real close not 2 knees but 1

  • Rondo is a God. Celtics all day.

  • good job u out ran a 34 year old white boy and jason emmberesed rondo worst den dis on his steal in game 5 but u wont see dat on here or on sportscenter for 3 stright days over and over

  • It would've been a travel with two hands on the ball. With one hand on TOP of the ball, it's called hustle.

  • TRAVEL IS TRAVEL PUSSY. PASS THE BALL, CALL TIMEOUT or SHOT ATTEMPT is all you can do legally with body on floor.

  • Jason Williams is a bitch!!!! Rondo made sure of it on that play, hahahhahahah!!!!

  • @josiahdealy Didn't have possesion of the ball dumbass.

  • @deionsanders748 number one bitch i aint no dumbass i aint disrespectin you so do the same for me number two if you dive to save a ball you cant get up wen rondo stopped the ball then got up with the help of the ball he took possesion.

  • @deionsanders748 to bad he does have possesion his hands on the ball you dumb mother fucker

  • @deionsanders748 to bad he does have possesion of the ball. his hands on the ball you dumbass so he does have posession.

  • @deionsanders748 he does have possession you dumbass his hands on the ball and he clearly has it. so yeah he does have possession you idiot

  • Man if I'm Jason Williams there's no way I let Rondo embarrass me, like that. Steal the ball from you, cross you over and score, you gotta hack him man,

  • that should be a fould by rondo but it was still a sick play by him...u cant just dive on the floor and hook someones leg shit aint football

  • @AllForTheGame No Foul, You are retarded.

  • damn that ninjas fast

  • you cannot go to the ground and stand up without it being traveling....thats been a rule forever!

  • @davbball30 Didn't have possesion of the ball dumbass.

  • I'm wondering where Magic Johnson got the crackpipe when saying that Jason Kidd has been the best all-round point guard for the last 8-10 years. What a joke! He had 4 years where he was BELOW 40% from the field. And his three-point shooting was pure YMCA until recently. I can think of about 5 point guards I'd rather have during the last decade.

  • Technically its a travel but by NBA standards its not.

  • @taylordize Technically you don't understand basketball.

  • @deionsanders748. I've played basketball my whole life since I was 3 and played Varisty basketball. I had a personal trainer for 3 years and practiced bball twice a day my senior year you fucking faggot so I think I understand bsaketball Learn the game fool!

  • Can someone unbiased please explain to me why this is not a travel? I don't want to hear anything about the players and the teams

  • @derderderderk

how would that even be close to a travel? He starts his dribble the second he stands up with the ball

  • @derderderderk He didn't have possesion of the ball.

  • first of all: great play. second, this is one of the most overrated plays in the history of basketball. People are saying this is one of the top plays in NBA Playoff history...wtf. The world needs to hop off rondo's jock, because anyone who has played ball their whole life knows that this is not THAT impressive...(not a hater, just bein' real).

  • @KillaCam96 Your an idiot Rondo was one of the most under-rated players in the history of the NBA up until recently.

  • damn damn damn lol

  • rondo is the worst player in the league....

  • @iamborghini1 -worst player? you're even worst than him! PFFFFT!

  • @iamborghini1 Yeah I guess so after that play.

  • This is definitly not a travel! You guys better watch basketball a bit closer.

This hustly play just rocks! Go rondo and go celtics!

  • Lakers suck!!! they're nothing without Kobe. Celtics are looking good to take the championship this year.

  • My favorite player steals it from a my least favorite player! I love this game!

  • wow that is crazy boy tumbled recoverd the ball and made the shot

  • What hustle!

  • First, when are Mark Jackson and Rajon getting married?

But seriously, J-Will was in a tough position. If he dives for the ball he could get called for either traveling or be forced to call an unwanted timeout. Jason didn't slack off...in fact he had almost overrun the ball and needed to slow down at the end. Rajon made a great play, but Jason was just in an awkward situation.

  • @RAMKING61 He could have kicked the ball out of bounds, or I don't know maybe picked the ball up?

  • @deionsanders748 Watch the clip on the NBA website. Rondo actually dove into Jason's left leg with his shoulder and practically tore his ACL. If that exact play had happened on a football field, it would be called clipping.

  • travel... and the dumbest tv commentator not named reggie miller comparing that blatant walk to "bird like" espn fails. Hubie Brown ftw

  • @gghochu How did he walk you retard?

  • @deionsanders748 obvioiusly your dumbass never played basketball or dont know the rules fucking idiot. he was laying on the floor, picked the ball up and got up using 2 steps and then dribbled. thats a TRAVEL. fucking blindass retard.

  • @gghochu He didn't have possesion of the ball you queer.

  • @deionsanders748 You must be retaraded or blind, maybe both, how the heck did he not have possession of the ball. Its obvious that you have never played basketball in your life

  • @deionsanders748 na gg is right.... He picked the ball up and walked most obviouse walk ever i would learn the rules before commenting like an idiot

  • you are a complete idiot. let me guess you played through 7th grade? hahaha he didn't have possession you dumb fuck. but i'm sure you know the rules better than a veteran nba official. if ur going to call someont out like that at least know what ur talking about. way to go asshole

  • @gghochu never picked up the ball man he used it to push himself up.

  • @gghochu i'm not sure it was a travel, didn't have possession, then when he was standing he took a dribble before making a step. i'm sure it would be called at the college level though

  • @superbrawl21 You my friend are a moron.
