It's not sold by BART. It's always those middle eastern vendors who sell snacks outside of the station. Although they're always right by the entrances.

first: i tend to eat on bart if starving.. mostly drink

second: what other people's trash is ( plastic, glass and aluminum bottles and cans) later my cash at the end of each month

third: if bart really cared, they would of really put enforcement on this but like most transit agency's in the bay area, they let things slide so there loss

It's one thing to have a sip of coffee on BART. It's another to have a full meal. I'm tired of seeing so many stained and crumby seats and floors from eating/drinking on BART, along with all the leftover trash people leave.

Eating or Drinking on BART (As well as smoking) is disallowed per CA Penal Code 640.

The penalty is a fine of $250.00 and 48 hours of community service.

i agree with toyt100ota. i don't see what the problem is so long as one doesn't eat a strong smelling food (i.e kimchi or curry) that may bother others, eat quietly, eat neatly and not make a mess, and clean up any trash. i don't see anything wrong with a responsible person drinking his or her morning cup of coffee on their commute to work, or someone snacking on a bag of m&m's in the middle of the day. just hold onto your trash and throw it out when you get off the train.

Wow no need to get personal. All I said was a cup of coffee not a whole meal to bring bugs. I don't think its unreasonable to have a cup of coffee if you spill clean it up and if its to much tell bart employee so they can clean it up. I have yet to spill a drop of my coffee on bart it just helps me wake up in the morning

I do break some rules not because I am special but because I am responsible enough to deal with my acrtions.
