Hm,I Like the models of the ships, but they were static,in the middle i get bored.Try to move them a bit more so it will have action. Also,i think the lazers you used weren't so good,i understand that they were very difficult to be made(i can't do them by myself in blender :D) but it would be better if you have used After Effects,or even Lightsaber Maker which is a very very easy program.(I have some tutorials on my channel)
Interesting jumpgate effects there. I especially like the design of the first ship that appears.
Try playing with a bit of movement for the larger ships - even if it's just a slow drift forward or something, it'd add another element to the scene to break up the part where the ship and base are slugging it out completely stationary. (It'd also be really easy to keyframe.)
I really like your mesh work, it really makes a difference when working on various lighting senerios. did you edit with blender? I use premier elements most times myself. I lay my sound in with it too, haven't figured out that much on blender yet. again, good job!!
I've been using blender as well, and that looked cool, it looks like you have had a hard time with laser fire, I can't get my particles to do the right thing either sometimes, I think it has to do with how the frames for the particle setting coincides with the bake frame settings on each step, I wish I could figure how to get each particle to hit the target from various angles with out having to step everything out.

@TheGamernered It was animated an rendered using Blender3D, then the clips were made into one video with Windows Movie Maker.
