  • I was in Poland some days ago. I learned to much about this country. But the only thing I like to said is that in this country live the most brave people in the world.

Living all those things and continuing like a nation is more than amaizing.

    God continuing blessing Poland.

  • @rosarion24174 The food is great, too !

  • Without Poland is no European Union, you can call it Western European Union, coz western Poland is western Europe, and eastern Poland is eastern Europe.

  • @amator26 Tylko sie nie zsikaj lamusie.

  • Ő tudja!

  • I'm proud to be Polish.

    Greetings from Kraków!

  • So.... She's thanking U2 for engineering that whole break up of communism thing?

  • @mafketays damn no. She's thanking those who made Poland a country free of comunism. This U2 song was written about the Solidarity moviment, so that song really fits in with the video of EU commission

  • The Poles survived an awful lot and are richer for it.

Paste title into bar: SPACER PO WARSZAWIE (THEY SURVIVED THEIR TYRANNIES!)

  • Today We are all Polish!

  • Yeah, yeah, good for Poland and all..but the girl is hot.

  • dziękuję

  • i ja dziekuje

  • Köszönöm szépen! Érdekes...

  • Heroism of freedom-pursuing Solidarity had helped to release Poland from the evil, blood-sucking claws of utopian and idealistic Communism. Let's hope the "red zombie" does not return...(albeit its presence is noticeable in other parts of the world)

  • Heroism of freedom-pursuing Solidarity had helped to release Poland from the evil, blood-sucking claws of utopian and idealistic Communism. Let's hope the "red zombie" does not return...the clip is pleasing :)

  • I'm so glad that Poland is a free country again and that Europe is united. That is the way it should be. This beautiful Polish girl who was born 20 years ago when Poland regained it's sovereignty is one lucky gal. Her future is bright in a free Poland and a united Europe.

  • Absolutely True !

  • Thank you !!!!

  • Thank you !!!!1

  • Thank you for this clip! And a BIG THANK YOU to my grandparents, parents and relatives, Solidarity and other great noblemen who made it possible for the Polish people to live in a free country again! THANKS to U2 for this song - CHORZÓW 2005 AND 2009 BEEN THERE :)

  • THANK YOU Dziękuję!!!

  • Jasne. Mogliby pokazać np. twoją starą... Na pewno jest piękniejsza.

  • There could be a difference between the government and ordinary people's opinion. I think most of the people - both Polish and Czech and Slovak - disagreed with the August 68 invasion to CS. And when I look at the history, I have to admit, that Polish people were much more brave during communist era than Czech and Slovak people.

  • Great movie indeed! Just too bad I can watch it only using a proxy due to some shitty copyright restrictions. As far as I know U2 agreed to use their song in this clip so what's the problem anyway? I just hope people in other countries are more lucky.

  • This really good video! All important historical moments! Brawo Polska!

  • Thank you POLAND!

  • The clip is great.

A lesson to everybody, that invading and occupying us is a mistake. We just don't give up. Remember:

    - 1944-1953 armed underground

    - Poznan Uprisin 1956

    - Students rising 1968

    - Gdansk 1970

    - 1981

    - 1989

I am 26 and I remember Soviet troops in Poland...

  • So don't forget who invade Silezia in first place: 1919 army of Czechoslovakia when Poland was fighting for Lviv, then again when Poland wanted to make plebiscite among people, Czechoslovakia didn't agree and took advantage of war beetwen Poland and Russia, when Red Army was at Warsow.

So plz don't cry, because we did right thing!

And 1968. Could Poland do opposite? Don't invade? No! Polad had nothing to say! Mocsow playd cards in east! Do you thing Polish peple wanted this? No, they didn't!

  • There's no proper answer to this really.

I can tell you my side of the story and you can tell me yours.

But I guess we've got more in common and to celebrate.

    Greetings from Poland.

  • before solidarity, our troops was under soviet pressure, we hadnt free choice

  • korzable wrote right. You don't know history my friend. You first began this conflict end at moment when we Poles defended Europe against communism in 1919 year. End we defended Europe on 25 years before communism.

  • At last EU you came to terms with history...

  • very cool

  • Thank You!!! Cheers from Eire :)

  • Thank you !!!

  • Dziękuję Poles. Dziękuję EU.

  • Wow....... POWERFUL!!!!

  • on U2's website is all about it, if someone do not believe...

  • dziękuję:)

  • Thanks U2, Thanks EU

  • Looks like WeAreTheBritz and ABritishLion are the same person. They certainly like capital letters. New Years Day is about Solidarnosc you idiot(s) and U2 gave permission to use it.

  • EU not used this song without permission. U2 allowed to do it.

  • I visited in poland some time ago, and the progress of the last years is incredible. Having some polish ancestors myself (my grandmother still speaks polish), I'm really happy about this development.

I know lots of people, especially in western europe, still underestimate poland. Thats unfair and I understand your frustration.

  • Za wolność naszą i Waszą!:D

  • Go Poland!! Greetings from Hungary:)!

  • jedyną osobą która na tym filmie wymaga większej uwagi jest nasz papież. Europa potrzebuje takich ludzi ...

  • Thanks U2, thanks Marta!

  • cieszę się i dziękuję :)

  • I'm Pole and I'm porud of that. Thank you EU for that film, especially after the previous one, which was made from German family perspective. Maybe because of lack these kind of films people all over the world think, that everything strated happening in Berlin. IT STARTED IN POLAND in these elections so just remeber that. I can appreciate effort of that people, despite that I was born 15th July 1990. THANKS TO THEM I WAS BROUGHT UP IN FREE COUNTRY. THANKS ONCE AGAIN.

  • Brought up?I don't quite understand, maybe you mean grow up?

    btw urodzilem sie 16lipca :-)

  • Thank you! It's important for many Poles. Not only the members of Solidarity. Dziękuję!

  • Thank you EU for this video

    SOLIDARNOŚĆ

    pozdro for all

  • Thank you from germany!

  • Dziękuję e grazie.

  • Dziękuję.

  • thanks for this video.

  • Thank u for posting this video.

It's not easy to understand for ppl from other countries than Poland though

  • I understand it. Because our past was very similar.

I hope our future will also be similar at least in one aspect - it will be beautiful. In the EU.

  • It indeed will be. Nothing can stop the movement of whole society with a dream and vision in the front of their eyes.

This movie is just another evidence of that.

  • Thank you for posting!
